A few things I forgot to mention:
1.) Don't make fun of my super manly Turbie Twist. My mama got that for me, and she's awesome.
2.) This procedure can be used for more than just ink and cloth. I actually got the idea for this video from Kelly Lee's video on Vinegaroon [link below], which demonstrates its use on leather. Another article [link below] suggests this process can be used on any organic material.
3.) The ferric acid suspension is very smelly and very acidic, being composed of vinegar. In order to compensate for this (and not to degrade your materials) you may want to neutralize it with a baking soda solution after it achieves the color you want.
=Ingredients=
Tea solution: Decoct a very strong tea (I used 12 teabags for less than a quart of water) for a very long time (mine went about 45 mins) in boiling water. It's that cake.
Iron solution: Soak rusted metal in vinegar for a very, very, stupidly long time (mine went a week.) If you've no rusted metal on hand, you can soak or boil steel wool in hydrogen peroxide, and allow to air dry.
