Thanks for video! Very interesting gripper. I have a number of Captains of crush's and Zenith grippers and they are great. But I think this is even better. You mention about the very even resistance with this design. This means the resistance is almost full from the start and it feels pretty much like weight resistance, which I think is most effective training. I will get one!

Great review, what do you think would be the best grip training device for strengthening my grip to compete in competitions such as American ninja warrior?

I like to train with different grippers, as they tend to feel different and work the hand differently. It not closing fully isn't a deal breaker, but I'd love if it did and had the smaller incremental adjustments as well. Might also be sweet if you could swap out the spring for something stronger when you master the highest setting. This seems like the perfect travel gripper while away from home, so much smaller than other similar grippers.

I enjoy your reviews Joe, when you search for "hand grippers" on ebay this one always popped up, I wondered about it, his earlier versions were plastic so they did not look all appealing, now looks like he is stepping into pro world. Also notice that he inspired copycats too with that design.

Joe, have you seen the Vatiz Adjustable Gripper? It goes from 5-500 lbs.

I believe new version is out with another setting level though top level is the same, i closed level 4 today for the first time. I noticed this is the only gripper where im stronger on my left hand than right, left is my dominant.

Can you recomend me a type of grippers that increments smaller and are accurate? Also maybe a suggestion would be to make a review/summary video of what a bad gripper is and such. But I need smaller yet accurate incremental increase grippers. I use the cheap Heavy Grippers and plateued at 200lb going onto 250lb. I can close and pretty much close the 200lb quick enough that you can hear the click at the ends of the grippers and I can do 30x reps. Yet when I get to the 250lb grippers, they are about 1cm from touching, I can't close it. The last time I plateaued at a workout were curling dumbbells. I later found out the 45lb dumbbell was actually 42.5 and the 50lb dumbbells were 52.5. The increments were too drastic and so my theory is that my Heavy Gripper are not accurate or worn out? (Can springs wear out? I don't know). Would that be a safe assumption?

I received mine (newer 2014 version with 6 levels instead of 5 in this video) and it is a very high quality gripper. However, there is a design issue with this gripper: when you use the gripper upside down the locking pin (latch) comes off due to gravity. I have emailed the manufacturer to fix this by placing a small magnet under the latch. Recently they released the 80kg and 90kg model with extender handle for negatives.

How come the Captains of Crush #1 is rated at 63kg but even some average guys can close it? Is the weight rating on Cocs not accurate?

Hey Joe can you please contact the GD Gripper Company,i would like their gripper to have the option to add extra 2 or more compressed spring to their hand griping device.But if they do that they have to increase the durability of the handle because there will be a lot of force in there.I want more kg to the GD Gripper,just give me what i want and take my money GD Gripper Company...ok ? I could buy a different gripper brand like for example the Captain of Crush No 3&No 4 or Bone Crusher 500 but i like the GD Gripper more because of the design and it looks more professional in my opinion.I think that most gripper company dont even have the specialists that GD Gripper have in order to perfect their device.I think a lot off professional grippers and champions will buy it if they increase the number of spring in order to add more kg to the gripper.We dont care about the price just give us what we want and that is this:1.more kg 2.lifetime durability.

Hello! There are new versions that came out in 2014. The one that you're showing is limited version. They stopped making them. Three more came out with slightly different tensions. Not much ,but up to 90kgs. Grips are rougher than before. Also you could extend the gripper for people with bigger hands. Design hasn't changed except colors.90kg gripper's spring is black, and the top metal piece that holds two grips is black metal piece now. No more all chrome piece anymore though. 10 years warranty. Still looks pretty cool to have it as a souvenir.^!^ I've ordered the 90kg one. I'll post it up, as soon as i get my hands on it. For product inquiry you can contact the owner. Why your hands shaking?

I just bought the the p90x adjustable hand gripper. It goes all the way to 90 pounds but my only concern is on the product package. There's a warning sign under the prop 65 of California, who's says "this product might contain chemical that may cause cancer and or birth defect. Could you please make a review on that issue??
