Who prefer winter instead summer? Dark ambient with winter ambience is paradise

@@Metratch I live in Dallas, and sometimes I'll travel a few hours into west Texas where there's no big towns for hundreds of miles, and the middle of the night there is intimidating. The silence actually feels heavy. If it's a new moon, you can only see the environment by the landscape blocking out the stars. It's as beautiful as it is terrifying. It's even more so if it's cold, hehe.

Doesn't it matter where you are on earth though? My intuition says this only applies to Nordic heathen religions, which was then absorbed into Christianity, then spread around by globalism and commerce as Christmas in the twentieth century. For instance in Eastern-Orthodox Christianity, Easter is WAY more important than Christmas. Which makes sense because Jesus dying is more holy than him being born. Which goes back to Nordic pagans finding 25th of December more important, and therefore Christmas becoming more important in the West.

The first track was used in a Fallout 4 mod called Sombre Mountain, that came out in 2020. It plays when you first arrive at the derelict gas station on the outskirts and are approaching the deserted town and galena mine, both of which are long abandoned. The entire area is overcast with this strange haze, and you get this powerful sense of being isolated, as well as an awareness that something terrible is lurking in the shadows.

"We know for a certainty however, that, thanks to the telescopic observations of elven astronomers, the White Frost, whatever it is, has already destroyed a great many worlds. The star systems in which it appears perish into lifeless hunks of ice over the course of a few decades. Furthermore, each scholar is agreed that the White Frost will one day come to our world. Ithlinne's Prophecy, though based on magic intuition and not scientific observation, thus appears to foretell the truth." Excerpt from 'A study of the White Frost, by Vilgefortz of Roggeveen.'

You know what's interesting? when the power goes out. We get used to our homes all nicely lit up when we want it and get used to what that looks like. Then suddenly there is no more electricity going through our wires, the only source of light you may have are those scented candles you bought or were given during fall and winter. Pumpkin pie, Pinetree, whatever. They light up the house just enough for you to see but not enough to "be like" it was before. The candles give you a sense of pleasant security but with the new look and feel of your house, you cannot be truly "comfortable" like before. It is a feeling that we do not get to feel very often. Maybe people felt that way in the past, sitting in their homes with only a candle to light their dark halls. If we have the ability to feel it and we never allow ourselves to, maybe that is why we feel so empty. We try to manipulate our environment to fit what is ideal but completely miss one small but very important detail. Something you don't notice very often from the corner of your eye... You see it right?.
@tunguskalumberjack99874 жыл бұрын
ChronoFactor I often turn out all the lights, televisions, etc, and light my home by candlelight, oil lamps, and the fireplace- there is no better way to read a book on a cold winter’s night, and it’s sad that people see it as inconvenient or unenjoyable. If the candles aren’t scented like the ones you mentioned, it’s easily remedied by putting a small pie tin or something similar on top of a wood stove, with a bit of water, some orange peel, cloves, allspice or cinnamon and letting it heat up and gently scent the room naturally. I have always used sconces for decoration, secretly hoping that the power will go out so I can live in my imagination for an evening. If it’s just TOO much for my family to bear, I may use just enough electricity to power some quiet music. I’ve been really hoping for a night like that for quite a while- fingers are crossed! 🤞🏾

“Gradually it was disclosed to me that the line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either -- but right through every human heart -- and through all human hearts. This line shifts. Inside us, it oscillates with the years. And even within hearts overwhelmed by evil, one small bridgehead of good is retained. And even in the best of all hearts, there remains ... an unuprooted small corner of evil. Since then I have come to understand the truth of all the religions of the world: They struggle with the evil inside a human being (inside every human being). It is impossible to expel evil from the world in its entirety, but it is possible to constrict it within each person.” ― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

The Fernsby family takes a trip out into a forest to cut themselves a Christmas tree, as it was a long lived family tradition. The snowfall seems to grow, as the sun down creates a beautiful sky. The family cannot seem to find a suitable tree for their favorite holiday. The darkness. It consumes the whole of the wood, as the family is no longer alone. They cannot tell what has joined their party, however they are no longer a whole party. Alone in the dark and cold, they can just barely see a figure, not knowing if it is real. The cold has struck them to their knees. The weak Fernsby family has succumbed to the unknown origin of the cursed wood. What is left of the family has joined the wailing shadows..........................

He'd often wondered what it would feel like to be a human snowball.. gathering up speed ( not the drug ) as he tumbles down faster and faster and faster gathering more and more momentum by the second.. What would that actually sound like.. wind, snow crunching, altitude differences, the thudding as the snowball got bigger and bigger.. eventually locking him within. What would it feel like.. physically..being jostled around like that.. his body feeling the vibrations. That made him think about broken bones and the human body in general. Was it actually possible through sound to cause physical injury. The human ear is known to be sensitive to sound.. if the ear is affected it can cause off balance. To do with the equilibrium. So was it sound that affected vertigo he wondered. If a person is affected by sounds or frequency could that affect their fear or rather body reactions to heights.. Could music be used to change not just the brains ability to receive information therefore affecting their body through mind.. but it could it change things within their dna structure itself or their thinking abilities.. not just improving or decreasing intelligence but create personality changes.. literally altering a person.. rather than just being affected by the music or sounds..

Your walking through an abandoned hospital at night. The only lights on are those of lab equipment and x rays. As you push through the invisible miasma of darkness, you begin feeling all ranges of emotions: Sadness, Anger, Confusion. But one sticks out the most... Wrath. As you stand in the desolate halls, the hairs on your neck stand up straight, as if your body is saying 'Get out of here, now!' But you stay; you push further down the dark halls, shadow figures dart around just out of sight but you can sense them. 'Who are they? Were they patients? What do they want?' Your thoughts start to race, but everything grinds to a halt when a blood-curdling scream reverberates off the walls. A sense of dread washes over you as your stopped in your tracks. Broken glass and floor tiles surround you, dead rats and bird carcasses are scattered around the hall and at the very end of the hall, you see him... her... it. It stares at you, it's body warped in unnatural ways. It takes a step and you try to move but fear has taken over your body and you're frozen. It continues to step closer but stops as a light seems to flicker to life, this hospital has sat abandoned for years now so there's no conceivable way for it to have power. The light flickers and you can see it's face, you're petrified as it steps into the light and you see the creature for what it really is....... . . . . Shia LaBeouf
