This is just in case you don't know who Dakota Meyer is. Pulled from his Wikipedia page. On 8 September 2009, near the village of Ganjgal, Meyer learned that three Marines and a Navy Corpsman, who were members of Meyer's squad and his friends, were missing after being ambushed by a group of insurgents. Under enemy fire, Meyer entered an area known to be inhabited by insurgents and eventually found the four missing servicemen dead and stripped of their weapons, body armor and radios. There he saw a Taliban fighter trying to take the bodies. The fighter tackled Meyer, and after a brief scuffle, Meyer grabbed a baseball-sized rock and beat the fighter to death. With the help of Afghan soldiers, he moved the bodies to a safer area where they could be extracted. during his search, Meyer "personally evacuated 12 friendly wounded and provided cover for another 24 Marines and soldiers to escape likely death at the hands of a numerically superior and determined foes. For anyone who does not know that is Omar Avila he was serving our country in afghanistan when he stepped upon a 200 pound IED. He lost his foot and 75% of his body was burned. Thank you guys for your service.

Just FYI when those windshields are in service, they are electrically heated to a pretty toasty temperature enhancing their shock resistance.

Just wanna thank crispy and Dakota. Crispy survives and IED blast and continued fight and Dakota drove through a gauntlet of fire coming from all sides to rescue Iraqi fighters and fellow marines who sadly passed. Both some badass hardcore dudes who give me inspiration.

I have been working on my PPL (Private Pilots Liscense) and one of my scariest experiences was when my instructor and I hit birds. While the jet windows are absolutely massive, smaller general aviation windows are like SUV windows. A bird managed to completely shatter the window and hit my instructors shoulder shattering it. It was an incredibly loud and scary experience, and I may have had to buy new boxers. So that's my story, maybe someone will find this interesting.

Crispy took an IED and provided cover fire from the Humvees turret while on fire and survived. That is some call of duty type shit.

I have 3rd degree burns on 73% of my body when i was in a house fire at 1 year old. I was considered a miracle because all 73% is just cosmetic. No disabling burns or melts. I'm now turning 19 soon and I've been a public speaker for other burned kids. I have also been a ambassador for Shiners Burn Care. I live near Dallas texas and im training to become a police detective. Its great seeing other burn survivors doing great things with their lives.

Matt .35 year AF mechanic here ....Aircraft windshields are made in layers. lexan and glass because they are heated, the fog you saw around the one was delamination of the layers, which made it no good. Side windows are mainly just lexan, non-heated. but are also layered. those were pretty small windshields. Pretty sure a large Commercial Windshield (DC-10 ect.) could stop your 50 BMG. they are like 2.5 inches thick weigh about 150 lbs. just a guess ... Keep on Demo'in
