I’ve spoken to a few owners who have changed and whilst it’s an improvement the owners have said it’s not massive and given the choice they wouldn’t have done it .. on the other foot some have said they would.. I guess it’s what boils down to your preference.. if I made the switch it would have to have the 437 wheels for one and straight away the exhaust aesthetics / noise would need to be addressed. That cow udder look is not cool. Both good cars, and the general consensus is if you have an m2 then keep it , if you don’t have an m2 then the comp would be the one to have. Food for thought as an m2 owner , I would love those seats, and M1/2 buttons.

@@DC5dotty not really 'one to have' though. You've got the uses market and potential of saving £20,000 before even paying interest on a PCP comp. So is the comp £20,000+ better? Unlikely

@@DC5dotty I was a former "regular" M2 owner and had the manual. Mine was a 2017 model. 2 months after I got mine, the LCI M2 came out, then 6 months later the M2C was announced. I wasn't very happy with BMW how fast everything changed and I felt I was gipped. My car was old within first 7 months of ownership. I wanted the S55 engine in mine so the M2C had things i wanted. I couldn't afford to trade mine in and get a new M2C and i knew the resale value of the M2 was going to drop soon. I actually had a bad dealership experience with getting my car and it tainted my overall BMW experience from the beginning (first time BMW owner). I said screw it, i found a car I really wanted more, which i should have just gotten before the M2 and traded it in for that. I agree with you, I don't like the M2C wheels at all. Look terrible IMO. The original M2 wheels so much better and the exhaust area muffler is horrendous. I would not have liked that either. I look back and sometimes think about M2 and miss things about it. If the M2C never came out, i'd probably still have it. Hope you guys all enjoy your cars! Just throwing my thoughts out, lol.

Unfortunetly the M2 competition ( 3600 lbs ) its 110 lbs heavier than a 2018 M3 ( 3490 lbs) and 150 lbs heavier than standar M2 (3450 lbs affecting its agilty while cornering regsrdless of hp. Weight play an important role n racing applications. As a competition vehicle thwy should have removed weight. Very dissapointed.

why is it unreasonable to use it as a daily ?

@@andyp8464 I really dont think it is unreasonable. This would be an outstanding dd in DCT form. My train of thought was "This car imo is aimed at being a toy for purists/enthusiasts." ....smiles per hour. So if the car is aimed at being a blast, which we can see it is, why use it as a DD? Why dumb down the involvement to make it fit to your lifestyle? Max it out in the fun dept, get a manual, use your Prius or whatever to get around, and use this when you want to have a riot.

@@drew2548 that's definitely one way of doing it but it isn't the only way. my wife allows me one car, so it has to tick as many boxes as possible, especially safety, space for a child, practicality , reasonable comfort and then anything else is only a nice to have . and I would rather walk than drive a Prius in any case ;) on the manual transmission side of things , I've done auto and dct since 2016. never looked back. I drive 10k miles a year , with only 1k of those miles for work and a fair amount of that is getting stuck on the M25. I do miss a manual every once in a while but I think but most times dont notice any more. even better is knowing exactly what your car can do , where its limits are , no matter what its transmission, and then being able to play around with it when possible / appropriate. overall I think a car with flawed handling and mediocre performance is better than having performance cars as it is easier to reach the limits in normal circumstances. otherwise it is too tempting to push a high performance vehicle hard and then there are always speed limits spoiling the fun .

@@beauwille2294 I cancelled my allocation. I concluded it wasn't enough of an improvement over the M2C for the frankly ridiculous extra 50% price. Should have been a proper CSL for that price.
