In this video I go over if stock 6.0 Powerstrokes are really as bad as people say, what do you think?

I’ve been daily driving my 2006 6.0 with 312xxx miles with no issues for a year now and I love it, it’s been “bulletproofed” coolant filter and like you said STAYING ON TOP OF MAINTENANCE is key

I bought a 2005 6.0 Power Stroke I ran into a major issue less than a day of owning it - it was stolen! but I got it back 11 days later, it was beat up, but still ran and drove fine, a buddy and I fixed it up and I just went over the aesthetics and detailing of it, its looking almost new! Love the truck and I plan on keeping it for the long term, will be mostly a stock truck that I will enjoy, the only mod coming for it soon is a 4" Flo Pro exhaust, nice truck you got there, just subbed!

I have a 2004 6 speed with 128k miles! Did egr and oil cooler and it runs great! Iv been told 6 speeds are hard to find? I'm pretty lucky! I also got the truck for free!

That’s what i have been seeing…if you hot rod it…like anything it will eventually die. I’m not afraid of them I’ve been looking for some but the prices are astronomical here in California. But hopefully with the holidays some one gets the itch to get a new truck and dump their not so beat truck!

Unfortunately the prices of these trucks as well as all other trucks have been going up like crazy. I got this one just in time

Dont get me wrong i love the 6.0 and been dreaming of owning one since i was a kid but there are definitely a lot of other trucks that can take serious beatings on the daily but unlike the 6.0 its all mechanical engines
@gregorybarth9302 жыл бұрын
I just got a 06 F350 4X2 6.0 automatic supercab with 6ft bed...believe it or not, just what I was looking for..I'm aware of the problems, just going to do the normal water filter, blue spring, cold air kit, remote oil filter, not for power but fuel mileage and longevity. It does have EGR delete, but no head studs, will see how it works out

I just got a 03 6.0 Yesterday and its completely stock. I pray I don't have a lot of issues I did get a diesel mechanic to look at it before I bought it and he said the only problem was the oil cooler gasket is leaking oil I think. He said if I keep adding oil I can ride with it so I’m probably going to do that and drive it easy and do a egr delete when I do get around to fixing it. How many problems has your 6.0 gave you so far? And do you think I should do studs?
@PackGarage9 ай бұрын
My truck had a few oil leaks when I bought it, leaked coolant from somewhere on the passenger side (honestly don’t remember), blew the turbo hot side hose off a few times(my fault) and the egr valve got clogged with Soot. Thats all I’ve had nothing major. My mechanic told me when it comes to studs, “why fix what’s not broken”. He said to not worry about it unless your truck does blow the head gaskets. Or if you’re just towing heavy 100 percent of the time
@alexbowie73469 ай бұрын
@@PackGarage yeah I’m very light on mine so I probably won’t stud it I just can’t afford a 9k head gasket job out of no where lol. Have you left yours stock or modded it? I’m kinda afraid if I straight pipe mine and other stuff it’s gonna make it unreliable

I recently bought an 04 6.0, it has the EGR delete and an upgraded turbo. I upgraded the suspension and just replaced the parts that were wearing out. I am impressed with the way it is holding up. Like you said, maintenance is key. I’m looking at upgrading the wheels to a 20” do you know if a leveling kit would be enough?
@PackGarage2 жыл бұрын
My last truck (maroon f250) which you can see in my other videos was leveled and had 20x10s with 35 inch tires

When it comes to deleting the emissions stuff, it’s getting harder and harder because the epa is cracking down on shops that do it, so a lot of shops won’t do it anymore. You basically need a “buddy”

i need help I found a bone stock f250 2006 for 16k runs great and it has 133k on the other hand there are ford f350 2006s around my are with built motors and lifts with aton of after market stuff like color matched headlights tail lights, with after market wheels but usually have m ore mileage unless they have replaced the motor like one I found d locally that had 20k miles on the new engine how ever they are the price has the stock or more. my question is should I buy the stock one and built it my self or just buy one that has had everything done to it? ( I'm just skeptical of the one with built motors or work getting done to them because i believe the truck would more than likely be abused.. people think just cause they bullet proofed it they can run a 500hp tune and floor it at every green light.)
@PackGarage2 жыл бұрын
That’s exactly what happens when people stud these trucks, they turn into race trucks. The real benefit of buying a stock truck and you having all the work done to it, for the most part, you know the work done, was done right. Who knows the quality of the work done to these trucks. If you do consider a built one, paperwork is a must or it didn’t happen at all.

@@PackGarage how’s it treating you you ? How much more money you dump into it ?? Bproofproof ? Love the 6.0 I’m looking at a 2007 with 70 thousand original miles with 8 foot bed. Just not bulletproof got nervous but legit an old guy has owned it from day 1 still got sticker and all services records. Still little nervous. Might just go with low mile 7.3 and up grade turbo injectors hydra tune and 5 inch exhaust and up grade trans. Tough decision

I’ve put about 10k into it, between bulletproofing, mods, and repairs. But most of that has been a choice and not necessity

I'm not gonna lie first few years when I was into the turd for more hen double the value, I was in denial. I'd say 6.0s this and 6.0s that . After chasing phantoms for almost 10 years now I've started to go bald and grey while I basically missed out on life, Like hooker's ,cocaine, and highschool girls or maybe like watching my kids grow up. But no, Cause I was to busy hugging that greasy fuckin pig.I can go on for ever and ever, but now I gotta go find a deal on a good used 5r110w
