To add to the pro for productivity and gaming experience, 3 screens will immerse you in the experience and keep you more focused on your tasks... it is definitely a significant difference for myself and I have to have 3 monitors to feel comfortable doing my day to day work. Moving my head is a bit of an issue for day to day task, but with a swiveling chair and depending on what you have open, it doesn't matter since it may not need immediate attention.

You are correct 100%. I have 4 monitor set up as I am working gaming and watching movies all the time. The setup lets me do fun stuff at same time when I work. Cost is not so bad... I payed $95 per monitor with DP ports and HDMI. Card NVIDIA 1070ti can handle it just fine. The last I got 3x $29.99 arms and looks amazing. Thanks so much for the video. Great points!!!!

Was using two 32" monitors for productivity, and that was nice. I then decided I wanted a larger central display for gaming and got a 55" 4k120hz tv. Gaming is sweet on that. For simulators, I just tried getting 3 monitors to work, but the mix in size/resolution causes nothing but trouble. I end up running in 2560+3840+2560 = 8960 x 1440, with a black bar on the top of the 4k. I'm still struggling with refresh rate (central display defaults to 24hz), so I totally understand the frustration of setup. If you're doing triple monitor, get 3 of the same!

One of your Cons, especially the one concerning turning your eye or turning your head is actually dependent on how the game itself handles 3 monitors. If a game keeps your view and UI elements inside the center monitor, then the side monitors simply add view to your game. However, some games have scaling issues where it zooms your view in and stretches your UI. this is where 3 monitor gaming goes bad for gaming. The only time I have to setup NVidia surround screen spanning is when a videocard drive is installed/updated. I don't have to setup the 3 monitor thing every time. I think you are turning yours off all the time. Your 2 main cons are very subjective to situations, programming and compatibility. If the games where all programmed to center its reference view and UI elements to the center 16:9 area of any ultrawide or 3 monitor setup, as well as NVidia fixing what ever problem they have with disabling widescreen spanning ever driver update, on top of you stop choosing to disable your 3 monitor spanning everytime you close a game, the only Con you would have would be the cost. There used to be a modding community that worked on user/fan-made fixes for games that had problems with 3 monitor scaling for view and UI. About the only other con I can think of, outside of cost and lack of support, is jealous players being vindictive and talking crap.

Nice video. I've been debating this ever since I got my RTX 3080 as I have the power to run 3. The thing is my main monitor is a 27" 1440P 144hz which isn't the cheapest so to get 2 more of the same ones will run a pretty penny. I also have a 55" desk and not 100% sure all 3 would fit. I currently use my old 15" laptop via the Windows wireless display feature as a second monitor which definitely increases productivity so I couldn't imagine 3 full 27" monitors from a productivity standpoint. Gaming, I love racing games like Forza so it'll be nice for those too.

No doubt, this looks impressive. However, for all day productivity, though initially three large screens seems like a good idea, it's not simply because it's a pain in the neck. The best productivity setup I've found is a Large 27-32" 4K center screen with 22" screens on either side. Definitely does not look nearly as nice, but it gives you the additional information you need at a glance while decently focus your attention at the task at hand right in front of you. For instance, my screen to my right I keep for my email program since you don't need more space and you're able to respond to work coming in quicker. You can use the left screen for instant messengers such as Skype and your file explorer (screen split) or other live information feeds... The entire setup should be within your peripheral view while seated in a comfortable position looking straight ahead. Anything more is not only a waste, but also a pain.

It is to me. I have three now. I'll get four eventually. Waiting for Thunderbolt to do that. It won't make sense to anyone who's not a graphic or web designer or, someone who truly uses their PC to do that kind of work. Being able to have my CorelDraw colour panels on one monitor and the actual window on another cannot be described in terms of how much it facilitates my workflow. I have several browser windows open and just move things to the focus monitor which is the central one. Absolutely helpful. Simple. For me.

I needed this advice, thank you. I'm in the process of building a PC and I've got the budget to splurge, like $1000. I'm debating getting an ultra wide curved monitor verses 3 screens. I'll probably compromise and get one ultra wide curved screen with two vertically aligned monitors on either side. I could just use the main curved monitor for gaming and the other two screens for whatever. Not sure yet though, advice welcome. Keep in mind this is my first PC build.

I can say that I had a triple screen setup, then I exchanged the three screens for a huge screen. I missed having three programs open at the same time, the super wide wallpapers, and at the end of the day, I had to move the huge screen apart from me to see everything, from the distance from my eyes to the screen it look the same size as a normal screen, I am currently selling the big screen and going back to the triple screen. one inconvenience of the triple screen is the lines between each screen, if the screens have a thick edge you may see those bars in your overall image, I recommend that you buy screens with very thin edge, if possible of the same brand and type, because different brands may have a different way to show colors, different brightness, different ways to show color temperature, if the three screens are as identical as possible you will not have a problem with that.

Yes, you just need 3 monitor arms, saves desk space, looks better, and allows you to angle the sides and bring them close enough that its not hard to see the edges. Flat against the wall is for show room aesthetics but it doesn't work irl, sweep your outstretched arm across all displays, distance should not change for ergonomic setup, but yes, gaming on 3 doesn't work in practice.

My work computer has 4 monitors. Three 22" and the laptop screen. Since Covid, I moved to working from home and one of the 22" is now a 27" that is shared to my home Mac during off hours. Mine is pure workflow. The 27" has an editor where I make notes on the issue and resolution, next is my case logging software, and the next monitor is my email. The laptop screen monitors the phone system (and no other apps as at 15" I rely on the icons more than text to see what is happening.) Monitors #1 & #3 also have a web browser each with 3-5 tabs. Monitor 2 has the chat system behind the logging software (full screened) that I flip forward when not on calls and cases. I picked up another 22" a week or so ago, but I have to rearrange the desk a bit, the printer is moving by the router on the other side of the office. Yeah, I can get a little carried away with this stuff.

As a triple monitor usesr who recently is bearing with dual monitors, I would say more screens you have, more productivity it is. Tried NFS, it was alright, you don't really pay attention to the extra screens. FPS games such as CSGO, you want to switch back to 1 screen once you played 5 seconds with 3 monitors. Overall, I still enjoy triple monitors. Only thing is they spread too much and is too wide (22 inch moniotors, not mentioning 27"), so this would be a concern as well. I have been planning to switch to a large 4k or 1440p, but after watching some videos talking about multiple monitors, I decided to stay. Maybe ultrawide + regular, or just stay with my 22inches triple. Thanks for the video, I now completely stand with my triple setup.

If i did 2 monitors i would need a stand for them and a separate one for my drawing tablet that's fully articulate and adjustable. I might upgrade to that, since my budget i am saving up for the setup is 10k anyways, so putting the extra money into 2 monitors i can use freely and a drawing tablet as the third would be ideal for doing all the things i will use the setup for.

I would have to disagree with the First person shooter on triple surround. If you have it scaled correctly, your main screen will stay the same size, and your side two monitors are effectively triple your Field of view. You just need the correct aspect ratio. Arma 3 on triples helps alot to spot the enemies off to the side. I agree its a PITA to set-up and use. Cant wait for the 30xx series GPUs, as they will really help boost the usability of triples.

ive been running (4x) 24" sceptre monitors since 2008? man its been a long time, and believe it or not as a full time programmer for the manufacturing industry i use ALL of them, yes all! there are times i use only 3 but i never much use less than 3. for gaming i use just 1 but everything else is 3 to 4. it is absolutly essential to have this many moniitors with the multiple softwares i have to run simeltaneously. and believe it or not i am just now looking to purchase a tripple, yes tripple monitor setup but this time all in 55" monitors. the only reason i did not go with 4 is because its not needed as the size of the 3x 55" monitors is so extreme and takes up so much space compared to my current 4x 24" monitors is that i just dont have the room for a 4th lol. a multi monitor setup is extremly beneficial. in both time and ease of use. the cost for the multiple monitors is definetly worth it for me but im a rara kinda critter as well, not many people are doing what im doing but for me, they are great, and i wouldent have it any other way :)

Just set up a triple screen config with Acer Predators 32'', 2560x1440 with 180 FOV... for sim racing this kicks ass! Played with VR (Vive Pro, Pimax 5K+) and Samsung 32:9 49'' before. For racing at the moment, there is NOTHING better! You are not faster, but safer and overall easier driving. Still, when VR will be on a level with decent resolutions and FOV, I probably will switch back to VR.

@TheMillionDollarDropout 4 жыл бұрын
This is the problem with VR at the moment, it's so immersive but the resolution and FOV aren't up to par! It sucks because it feels like the tech is so close yet so far to its ultimate form.

How are your monitors fixed to the wall, I didn't see any vertical poles anywhere. Also what led strip is that, is it just a generic colored led strip?

What bracket/mount have you used for your 3 monitors? I am really struggling, got a 27inch and two 24 inch(s) to go either side of it. I've got the 27 on its own stand and the 24's on a double bracket at the moment but want to centralise my main screen so need all 3 on a bracket. Seems like you have them wall mounted? Link perhaps? cheers mate!

Hey great video. I’m reaching out because I’ve hit a brick wall. I have a very similar setup with three 27” acer predator monitors but can’t wall mount them evenly. What brackets did you use? Any recommendations welcome. Next to zero wire visibility is the aim also. Thanks in advance. Subbed too

I have 1*27" and 2*24 monitor in NV surround. It's still very big, don't even imagine connecting ultra wide. 95% of the time I don't notice what's in the other two monitor. I am really disappointed spending all those money then I coupled my friends 2*19 inch and 1*22 inch monitor that's very enjoyable. Always go for small monitors as you can. It's way more immersive because three monitors are under your perception and I am not getting headaches watching the monitors.

I've got a triple 27" monitor setup, cost a pretty penny (all 1440p 165hz) but damn does it look good, it also takes up a lot of space, my desk is 246cm (karlby + alex + leg in the middle), with my pc on the desk there's not a lot of space left, i used to have 1x 27" + 2x 24" and i felt that was big.

I would like to see games that incorporate multiple screens and/or another PCs into their gameplay for example i know of is Uplink, where you could link to another pc, it become a map screen Of course some flight sims and a couple of KSP mods do this, but i mean a game designed with this function from the ground up.

I have now a dual monitor both 60Hz I am used to it and played with the top players in some competitive games. Since i got a bit older i started to realize that a new monitor can make me improve my gameplay even more, that's the only reason why i should buy a new one... If i would buy a 240Hz monitor and use it as my main gaming screen will the 60Hz feel laggy when am just browsing on it? I never played on a higher hz monitor so i can't tell how it feels.
