Is Abyss A Good Map?

Understanding Valorant's newest map to the competitive pool in both the macro and micro can be difficult. In this video, I breakdown the issues that Abyss has and give feedback into improving the map to play better in a casual and competitive environment.

i do like that you are not shittalking cuz bro everybody keeps criticizing but we already have more maps in 3 years of val than 11 years of CS also clove came out on march and we already are getting a new agent I would hate if they stop their consistent efforts and start giving updates like valve

CS has maps like Cache, Anubis, and Dust 2 that weren't originally made by Valve. This doesn't include the community workshop with every other map made by the community. I wish Riot would let community members make their own maps to play on and maybe even try and get into the game. Also I do like getting new maps and agents but many of the agents are pretty underwhelming like Deadlock, Harbor, and pre-nerf Iso.

@@bubbawubba111 you have a point with the maps even though i think we have too many maps now but get riots idea here they have decided to release agents that are trash and buffing them than releasing agents like chamber iso,deadlock which can be playable in 2 patches also harbour needs a rework his current kit makes him suitable for only a double controller

Honestly the only issues i see on Abyss is where the Defenders are supposed to be to hold the site down. The sites are very open with very little cover (something id love to have as a Cypher player) and Mid, while not very worth it for Attackers, is a lot harder to deal with if they get control of it. Its the Icebox problem, if theres no way to contest Mid then its a lot stronger than usual. Sentinel utility is way too far back right now to reliably hold it for lurks and the only way is to commit Chamber and leave him there to actively watch Mid. Im sure there will be better ways later on since Abyss barely came out, but those are the current problems i can see. Its not Breeze or Fracture broken, but it’s definitely fixable like Lotus

I like the map but I'm a little worried about pro play. It doesn't seem like it is gonna be a map that teams will want to play because of shallow the meta is going to be.

mid is terrible on this map, its difficult to smoke and ive seen so many awkward fights on mid already. hope they do some changes to it

The map is bad. It has the same verticality Icebox has so there are always 37 different angles you have to watch. It has a useless mid that will only get used to lurk, like Icebox. It is also massive like Breeze so rotates will take forever making the most viable strategy to just slam either site. Both sites have multiple plant spots where you can plant then leave and spam from the 37 angles that can see bomb, which is the problem with Pearl and Sunset B sites. It's like they wanted to put all the worst elements from every previous map into one pile of shit

there is no point to improving never bring it back. your changes wouldnt still fix it because a and b main are to complex and give so much space for the attackers to play for spam, no matter what they do if they dont fix a and b main playerls will always just rush a site, plant with wingman and harbor cove just play for spam and win every round

This is the worst map I've ever seen since the launch of Valorant , this map has barely any type of defender or attacker game-play and the long as hell rotate that takes an actual whopping 10 seconds makes it so that if defenders lose a site control and attacker plant early , the defenders will literally have no other way of winning.The long as hell rotate makes it so that enemies will always 5 stack commit a site and because the sites don't have proper defender covers , defenders will almost immediately die unless a cypher is playing or sage is walling off site to prevent entry but that holds up for barely any time.Then there's the mid problem where there is quite literally a large advantage for any team that has proper aim , an enemy with a proper aim or high refresh rate monitor would easily clap mid cause again defenders can't contest mid after losing control.This is the worst map I've ever seen that only promotes "aim-based" game-play rather than like actual strategy game-play. Map made for iron game-play where you either rush or get rushed 👍.
