@@eoghanhennessy443 whatever you read was probably incorrect. Just think about it... How would you collect this animal urine and where would you store it? Most adblue containers I've looked at have stated it's synthetic urea, and synthetic urea is created from (synthetic) ammonia and carbon dioxide. It's also known as carbamide and is used as a fertiliser. Btw, ammonia is a compound of nitrogen and hydrogen. If you see a bag of nitrogen fertiliser there's a good chance it's synthetic urea based. Also, Yara, the biggest producer of Adblue is also one of the biggest producers of fertiliser. Yara states that "AdBlue is a 32.5 % solution of high-purity, synthetically manufactured urea in de-mineralized water."

We have gone through lots of Euro generations of vans in the last 20 years where I work. There is an absolutely sickening stench when the vans are idling, when we get back to the yard off our Euro 6 vans (Movanos). It gets right into your chest and throat, not sure if it’s the AdBlue or the 20mph speed limit around the town that’s causing it.
@supervitz717811 күн бұрын
Reminds me of my old job, but that was before adblue. They loved idling about 7 first generation transit connect vans first thing in the morning, was disgusting.

Adblue degrades or crystallises in sunlight, what do petrol stations do. Sell it in clear bottles stored in sunlight.

Wrong, deleting Ad blue increases the NOx emissions , very bad for peoples health, Ad blue is not toxic and neither is the Nitrogen and water the NOx plus Urea solution ( ad blue) reaction produces.
@inkdipfd24 күн бұрын
I dont know about a health scandal, but the problems the systems have should be looked into. I don't think any manufacturer has nailed these things...fault after fault after fault.
@jabberwockytdi89015 күн бұрын
No Adblue (32% urea solution) is coming out the exhaust it reacts with and reduces the NOx in the exhaust as it flows through the catalyst in the cat. just a quick thought you had for some clicks? It's NOx that's bad for your lungs not the nitrogen and water that comes out when using ad blue. Ad blue actually allows the engine to be set to run leaner ( so more fuel efficient) as that would produce way too much NOx without the adblue system and pre Euro 6 cars had to be tuned with higher AFR's to limit NOx emissions.

Sure this stuff causes corrosion. When filling it overflows a little on to my side step and is eating it away 😮
@jabberwockytdi89015 күн бұрын
Yes the stuff you spill will become alkaline with ammonia as it breaks down. Urea solution itself is not corrosive.
@user-rc4qh3lp7h19 күн бұрын
There is a slip catalyst within the de NOx catalyst that mops this up. So no. No potential health issue.

This 💩is as corrosive as acid. The pumps at filling stations have to have stainless steel components otherwise they fall apart. If this stuff gets into the wiring it travels down the copper strands and eats it in no time. Defo a planet saver👍🤣😂🤣
