Buddhist leaders such as His Holiness 14th Dalai Lama have held conferences with leading scientists to discern how Buddhism and modern science can support each other. But does this make Buddhism a science? Professor Robert Thurman discusses his opinions on where Buddhism and science meet and differ.

Buddha's Enlightenment is to see the samsara system Enlightenment in Wisdom 3 how humans and animals are actually born why did it have to be born part of the Hindu religion The Buddha said some brahmins teach But many brahmins teach wrongly. god in hinduism The Buddha knew and saw gods or those gods used to be human and was born in heaven because of good deeds. The enlightenment led to the enlightenment that the world and the universe had no creator.

Buddhism is the science of the mind. Buddha never wanted people to call him almighty like some other "Gods" he was too humble. Is Buddhism science ?? It's a philosophy thus making it science

@themusicalcardinal.5108 it was a philosophy that found the absolute truth or the universal truth, and it is a system of knowledge. As time passed, many people started following and embracing it, resulting to add cultural aspects of people who followed, resulting in buddhism becoming a religion. It has many parallels with science, and some say it is the best Eastern science( branches of knowlege found by developing mind/ consciousness)and definitely, it is not like any other religion in the world. It says you may come and see and dont believe in it, but see for yourself whether it is correct.

This is why i like to follow buddhism 🔥most scientific part of buddhism is buddha's abhidarma teachings. 🔥 🔥I will post part of it here🔥 It tells us about the contraction (sanwattakappa)and expansion(vivattakappa) of the universe, how the mind works, how the mind thinks and how it disappears. The Buddha discovered the smallest particle that could no longer be separated. Its lifespan is 49 kshana. kshana 1 = 0.0000000000000000002 seconds It disappears in the 50s kshana. It reappears at 51 kshana (new particle like previous one), but this new particle does not have as much energy as the previous particle. This work continues. The energy of these particles gradually decreases and eventually disappears. Therefore, the Buddha said that everything is impermanent. The Buddha said it happens in the body and in the physical world About the sudden deaths that are available. The Supreme Buddha said that everything in the physical universe appear, and exist and disappear trillion of times per second . It will not be grasped by us. It's as we see it. But considering the above, it does not fit. For example, look at the light bulb in your home. Its light you can always see. But you know what? That it lights up fifty times a second. It can be detected using a micro camera. But think. How do we grasp the physical world that exists and disappears trillions of times per second?

Buddha's expertise is the mind. Through his own investigation and experience he discovered not only is there no self, we don't need one. This is science as Dr. Thurman states; observation and experience.

The mind is not enough, heart makes our life deeper and purposeful. From experience: people who have been practicing meditation (for example in Myanmar) daily will not necessarily become individuals who spread or practice love. It doesn't automatically makes someone compassionate either. Maybe pity in some cases. In WWII Japanese soldiers were thought to use Buddhist teachings to suppress emotional feelings while in battle.

The Buddha opposed religion. If you look at what he said about Brahmanism, that was precisely what he rejected. It wasn't just that he rejected Brahmanic ideology - he rejected traditional authority, ritual, belief, hierarchy. What he affirmed was the spiritual path, based on reason, experience, and mutual respect. “Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”

Reaching for the light at the end of the tunnel is reaching for one self. Discovering the truth is discovering one self. It's discovering total freedom, it's the breaking away from the limits others impose on one self.

With Buddha as a teacher (since he was more like philosopher instead of scientist), you just follow your own path; that means you have to be strict and discipline to yourself according to Buddha’s teaching and philosophy.

If you consider the theory of general relativity a science then Buddha is indeed a scientist, much before Einstein Buddha taught the theory of interdependence (relativity).

The people who were Buddhists around me were not like the Dalai Lama. At all. I learned different lessons. I learned that it doesn't matter what religion you practice, you can use it to abuse others, use it for personal gain, use it for excuses for your own self, use it to run away from responsibility by practicing self-deception, hide behind it under the flag of religious freedom. Looks can be deceitful and behind a peaceful smile can be monsters or spaced out, empty minds.

So nice 🙂 But say, when one is only 1 in a crowd of penguin, happily singing *_"I gotta be meeeee!"_* ... should one clamber up the prideful rungs of the social ladder in order to communicate? Me and mine came up with "Web Weaving" in the late 1970s, while employing university internet services to support the anti-globalization movement. Before that I was jump-trained infantry and Signals Intelligence. Though I've been professing pret'near exactly what Dr. Perzin here presents (though I'm Kagyupa) ... I'm mute. That's just the fact. The effective truth. Powers of psychopath fascism is, as always, on the rise. But I can't even talk about zhentong. KyeHo *--ben* _aka _*_Karma Chöpal_*

In BUDDHISM, 4 NOBLE TRUTHS by BUDDHA definitely not religion--4 noble TRUTHS are psychoanalysis of NARCISSTISM --- that how NARCISSTIC PERSON SUFFERS ,because of narcissim. So 4 NOBLE TRUTHS are definite scientific---- so not religious. But BUDDHA also believed in re-incarnation --- that human beings keep on coming back to the world/earth, again again --- and that is RELIGION---- and that is the religion of HINDUISM---- this re-incarnation, BUDDHA got from HINDUISM--- the was not really something new in HINDU SOCIETY of those days.
