this is actually fallacious, creatine has not been shown to cause hair loss. creatine doesnt affect testosterone or DHT which when paired with a gene for androgenic alopecia lead to what we know as male pattern baldness. there is a correlation between creatine and baldness but, CORRELATION IS NOT CAUSATION.

Some people have naturally higher levels of Creatine and can reach capacity without even talking supplements (about 20% of people roughly). Also if you're eating a lot of meats they tend to contain some creatine which may also be helping.

My concerns: 1. If you supplement…. Isn’t that dangerous? Meaning if your body does not require more and you take more than your body even needs doesn’t that affect your heart and kidneys and lungs etc ? 2. It’s naturally occurring in our bodies. But that natural occurrence and a lab made synthetic version isn’t the samething. Just my opinion.

Creatine has been great, and even if u don’t notice the effects, it is so cheap the internal benefits of supplementing it are worth it!! Definitely feel it helps with recovery!!

My opinion is that exercize itself encourages balding if you are not feeding well or trying to overachieve by pushing more at the pace body can't recover itself. To produce joints, nails, skin and hair your body uses collagen, i think for that outter teeth layer as well but i'm not sure. The least usefull or what your body needs the least are nails and hair, priority is on more functional parts of your body which is wearing out. Your body is producing collagen on it's own and there are also supplements. Your worn joints aren't the only issue causing low level of collagen because it's a protein and your body had to make alot more proteins for the muscles you are tearing every workout and for your all other organs. If you intake a bit less calories your body will melt your fat but if you intake a lot less calories it will break down protein from your diet and again it will provide proteins for more important parts, your hair style and big muscle mass means shit compared to your overall health and vital functions. Creatine's hair loss probable theory: Men balds more often then women, men that are more into fitness tend to train more in volume, they need massive amount of nutrient, they wanna have abs to show after that long time invested in workout, they eat less. They are also the most often type to take creatine to have more energy, and offcourse statistically creatine users bald more but it probably doesn't have nothing to do with creatine, you can link it with beast mode and SPARTAAAA attitude(and hollywood, internet, sportswear, supplement, gyms and food companies to put high standards and make you feel like piece of worthless shit if you are not huge and ripped). Put health on the first place, if you're not a professional athlete there is no reason to chase that last few percents of performance, i have never heard of 30+ pro athlete without surgery/es of some kind.

When should you be taking creatine? I have heard some people say preworkout but this just never made sense to me in my understanding of how creatine works, first in how you have to build up to having saturated creatine levels indicates to me that it isn't a short term solution for energy or increase in performance but rather long term, second wouldn't it dehydrate you? even potentially I don't think it's worth it. Anyone have an answer?

Picturefit somebody told me that when he stopped taking creatine and stopped the gym at the same time,he had a significantly muscle loss. He lost 30lb in 3 weeks. Is it because of the creatine? Does it have this side effect?

As from my experience i would make creatine only n-18 supplement. Science is one thing but personal experience from years of use is better answer on my body i did take creatine for 2 years non stop and about 5 years on and off. For what is worth i got some prostate enlargement as it was hard too pee. Hair droped faster in patters on head. Heavy breathing and sometimes kidney pains. It was like taking steroids in a sense. Increased recovery, strenght is through the roof, weight gains and pump is unreal. And as one study shows it can shut off you normal creatine production in body and coming off creatine you will feel the effects. I did drop alot of weight and was way weaker. So you decide i guess if its worth it.

lala lala I’m 50, my hair has been receding since I was 30, but it’s obviously coming out a a higher rate. I was kidding, with the “jacked” comment. The older you get the harder it is to build muscle, so I’ll take that extra edge for some hair loss. Plus creatine is good for the brain.
