In the US, it seems almost impossible to get a data science job without a bachelor's degree in a domain, a master's in data science and some years of work experience. The job market is tough...

In the US, even for software engineers and other roles, it is becoming tough to get a fresher job because of the ongoing weak job market. Big techs (Google, Amazon, etc.) have laid off many employees; they are out there in a job market, and it is becoming hard for freshers to compete against them. This is the sad reality however the demand for AI engineers and data scientists is going to grow as more and more companies integrate AI in their tech stack. Also if you are a fresher with strong online credibility (e.g. strong GitHub profile, open-source contributions, good kaggle rank) then your chances of getting hired are very high. Also, remember one more thing that complicates the situation is the H1B visa. As many USA citizens are jobless, for a company it is hard to hire someone on H1B because they need to prove to the US government that they cannot hire a USA citizen for a given role and that's why they are going for an H1B.

The same people that were pushing data analytics and data science courses have now quickly transitioned to pushing AI courses while the students and job candidates that spent a lot of time learning data science are wondering what it all means. It all seems like being in "chase" mode while the landscape changes faster than individuals can keep up with it. AI is just the next "hot career" that the course providers will push. I'm not sure if the AI courses are even that good. How do we know?

Both are equally good in terms of career opportunities. In terms of your own career suitability, choose data science if you are more inclined towards math/stats and generating insights. Choose AI if you are interested in building the models as well as integrating them with rest of the technical infrastructure, e.g. interest in traditional computer engineering.

All these things seem fancy like salary and future growth but when you are ready as a fresher and start applying i can tell you that you will end up in having only disappointment. If you seem current market status finding job in data science domain as a fresher is near to impossible especially when you not from tech background. Just go and search data science role in any job portal you will find a lot of opening, but they require either experience or a plethora of skills that you might not have. Reality is harsh but I am facing this from past 4 months

Please watch my last video on how a 12th grader got a full-time ML engineer job in Bengaluru. This person did not even go to college. Now one may think he is some prodigy and people like him are rare. The reality is that these people are not geniuses, obviously, they are smart. Still, the main reason for their success is they focus on building online credibility through open-source contributions, kaggle ranks, etc. If you do this, I guarantee you will get a job. The market is tough, agreed but saying that as a fresher you will not get a job is not quite accurate!

I am currently working as a po in government bank... Salary around 1 lakh pet month but i am not satisfied... So i started looking to IT sector since last 4 months... In last four months i have completed most of DSA part with c++ and some part with python also ... Because in your videos you told importance of DSa to get in big companies ... youi are in a very tough situation. and i think you will stick in bank only... it field is also not very good... its like grass is greener on other side................i am not saying you cant do it.......................wait first of all i am no one to say this... i worked in it long back..and now want to get back in it..................... so i am no one to say............people do all kind of things always.... but since you are married things might get a liuttle trickyfor you. but bank po will also get rough ahead... bank is the toughest job... no one says about it.. because it actually is.. if they say reality then people will protest... bank is worst........ i am amazed with such hard schedule also u covered dsa with cpp......are you cs graduate?
