@doktarr
@doktarr 2 жыл бұрын
Hardly the stupidest call ever. It's 700k to win 1.9 million so he only needs about a 37% chance to win to make it worth it. He's a bit unlucky that he's up against 99, if he's up against tens or jacks he has four more outs and it's pretty much mathematically correct to call (close enough that it comes down to tournament dynamics). The overbet on the flop is more questionable IMO because it makes it really hard to have a flush (especially at the time this happened), which in turn means there's a lot of hands your opponent can comfortably shove with.

The hand with Nassif reminds me of just how long ago this was: the old PokerStars logo, the fact that Nassif called it a "three-hundred thousand *dollar* pot," that Molina refers to a set as "trips," and that the occupation "newspaper exec" exists. All relics of a bygone era.

It’s one thing when somebody gets mad after they got unlucky and lost a big pot, but what we’ve seen from this kid is that he insults people as the person is shaking his hand AFTER he just knocked them out of a tournament. That is a whole other level and it’s amazing that nobody ever took a swing at him.

I think I would have called the floor for him creating a disturbance and making comments to influence play. Could have at least gotten him a warning. Jamie Gold got a warning for his table talk during the 2007 WSOP. People like this just create needless tension for the whole table and slow down the game.
