A calcaneal stress fracture is a terrible injury.
What is a calcaneal stress fracture?
“Calcaneus” is the medical term for heel bone. When you get a stress fracture in the heel bone, doctors call it a calcaneal stress fracture. When you run with a calcaneal stress fracture there is a risk the bone can actually shatter and break apart.
That obviously would be bad.
But there are three really interesting facts about the heel bone that you should think about.
Is a fracture walking boot the best thing when you have a calcaneal stress fracture?

Help! I am suspecting I have calcaneal stress fracture in both heels. I am not a runner. I am female, 58, and on my feet a lot doing various activities such as gardening and chores and I have stairs in my house. What do I do? A boot? Both feet hurt at the heel and edge of heel on outer side. I believe this is from my DB method squat machine in fall of 2022. Pain got worse all year during 2023. My pain doctor treated with PRP shots and suspected tendonitis but I am not better. I suspect now it is from my excecise machine that put strain and weight bearing on my heels simultaneously in fall of 2022 and it was a new exercise and I over did it over a 6 week period. How do I deal with both feet in pain and stay off both feet and still do my daily necessities? Husband travels. No one to help me.

Hello sir i am a athlete runner for 1500 meter 15 days i had calcaneous frature have orif surgery with plate inserting ....when i can start my running practise again I am in depression
