For someone like me that lives far away in Europe, a system like this is a life saving because we don't get to visit very often, and sometimes waiting times don't let us experience even half of the park

Just wanted to let you know that I think this was worth it for our family. We paid $60 (4 people) for 1 day at Magic Kingdom during Christmas week (12/28). We were there from 9:00 AM to 10:30 PM and were able to get on every ride with the Genie Plus (except for Peter Pan, Mine Train, Space Mountain, and Jungle Cruise). We stood in the stand by lanes for Mine Train (90 minutes) and Jungle Cruise (60 Minutes) and Space Mountain at the end of the day for 30 minutes. The only ride we didn't do was Peter Pan because it was still a 60 minute wait at 11:00 PM. I would say Genie Plus was worth it for us. We also watched the Christmas Parade and the Fireworks show. Thanks for all the info about Genie plus and helping us plan our trip!!

Great job as always! I watched other youtubers do genie + and I think they messed up by waiting for each lightning lane to come up. You did it the smart way by utilizing genie + while also standing in the stand by lines with low wait times ( maximizing your day). I can’t wait to see how you navigate the other parks.

Adrian, thanks for the very informative video. We are doing 10 nights at Universal's Royal Pacific this December, and wanted to spend one day at Disney doing Star Wars. After seeing how Genie works, and knowing we'd have to keep staring at our phones all day to secure boarding groups, I think we'll stay at Universal. We like their Express Pass system better. And we can leave our phones in our room. Again, thanks for another great video!

OMG we have Christmas reservations for Magic Kingdom!! We have booked an Orlando Vay Cay home for 7 days and will he surprising our grands with Disney on Christmas Day!!! I have the Genie plus so trying to see how it works!! There will be 1 of us. I am stoked to see its a Small World with my family. It's been many years since my last experience! My Hubby is from NYC and he has never had the experience!!

I feel like your experience is the ideal way the system is supposed to work, but if rides start to go down like in other parks then it will be a bad experience. I would love to see you do a dedicated video using LL for each park, this was a very thorough and helpful video that I hope will help people understand how this system works. While extra costs always suck. My family goes to Disney once every couple of years for a few days. So I would gladly play an additional fee to guarantee we can ride something like Rise of the resistance or Flight of Passage and not have to waste half of our day for one attraction. In the end I think this would save our family money, vs extending our trip a couple of days longer to comfortably fit everything in while still enjoying the sights and restaurants at the park.

Thanks for the clarification about whether or not guests can repeat lightning lane rides. That was the only thing I was unsure about. I heard some vloggers say no repeats and another vlogger said repeats could be done. LOL. I understand everything else, no confusion. I’m on the west coast, and used max pass many times at Disneyland. Maybe I’ll try Genie on my next trip. 😎

I believe the thing to stress is you don’t have to pay for Genie + or the extra lightening lanes. Just like Universal. Sometimes it’s cool to go through the walkthroughs.

My big problem with this system is that while it seems alright in Magic Kingdom, it feels like it's crap in the other parks. The reason why is due to limited rides and attractions in the other parks and that all the booking stuff seems to be open to everyone immediately, meaning times are likely to be eaten up early and giving you limited uses of the lightning lanes. For Magic Kingdom, the price seems rather justified, for the other parks, I probably wouldn't spend the money due to the limited amount of experiences and that most of the booking times will probably be completely eaten up making the purchase a lot less appealing.

It's actually a great service for the following reason. Families often extend the time of their DW vacation so they have a chance to experience all rides and attractions. With this you can actually save money by reducing the length of the vacation.

For Magic Kingdom, if I'm rope dropping in the morning I'd head straight to Seven Dwarves Mine Train and knock that out when the wait time is low and then head over to Space Mountain and do the same thing. That way no money needs to be spend on Genie + and you can just do the normal free lightning lane rides from that point on. I'd continue to look for short lines in the morning and then use the lightning lanes in the afternoon when lines get longer. That way you can go on your favorites at least two times if you'd like.

me coming from parks where daily skip the line options are usually $60-$100+ lol Genie+ sounds great; especially that it isn't oversaturated by being completely free.

I’ve seen a few on the genie plus reviews at just about all the parks besides animal kingdom. So I’m really looking forward to see how this new feature would work at animal kingdom. Overall it is a great feature for you to get more done for your park day and in less time but as a family of 6 yeah it could add up very quickly.

Great video! It looks like Magic Kingdom is a win with Genie+ and individual Lightning Lane. It's just like how the old FastPass system worked. My only complaint; I hate the fact that there is an extra cost involved, on top of the expensive day tickets or annual passes.

I heard that Rise was broken down for about an hour at opening yesterday, which really messed with the Genie+ reservations. Slinky Dog also sold out pretty quickly. Even with some issues, I'm excited to try it on a Magic Kingdom day!

I know another blogger had issues at Hollywood studios with the new system, not enought available times and rise of the Resistance was sold out with in any hour, so I think the system may work well in some of the parks, but not in others

Thanks for your analysis. Specific to Magic Kingdom: I've watched a few different videos and options, and one guy managed to hit up 18 rides with a VIP Tour (allowing him to skip lots of lines). I'd think that if he 1) was a tiny bit faster, and/or 2) skipped the Disney Enchantment Fireworks, and/or 3) stayed at a Deluxe Resort and did early entry and/or Extended Evening hours (on a Wednesday), he would have gotten to all of the rides. (Minus stuff like Enchanted Tiki Room, Country Bear Jamboree, Tom Sawyer Island, Carousel of Progress) I've also seen some optimizations for other parks (not worth it for Animal Kingdom or Epcot) and it also depends on how many people are there at each park. I think one thing to consider is "if you do only 8-10-12 rides in a day with the regular standby queue and you end up paying an addition $15 or $20 a day to add on a day, wouldn't you be better off, if you can manage running around, to pay for LightningLane+?" (and that's very specific to Magic Kingdom)

Great video. So it's basically like fast pass plus but you are only able to get one fast pass per ride and you can get the two paid ones easier than the old system except that you have to pay. Interesting to see how this affects standby wait times. Too bad it can't be an add on for APs as a one time payment. My main gripe is that the old fast pass system was better and free for those who knew how to use it. I remember days where I got over 15 fast passes in MK in one day. I wonder if the old refresh trick will get you better times closer to your current one on Genie Plus.

Couple of comments here - I 've watched a few KZfaq videos on on Genie + and this one explains it really well. I'm not due to visit WDW until March 2022, but will more than likely put away a few extra dollars to cover the daily cost of Genie +. Second point is how were you able to max out on Buzz Lightyear's Space Rangers. I want to do that and impress my granddaughter :)

This video has been by far the MOST informative + easy to understand about Genie +, one question I have ..I know you have a DAS pass. Im going to Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. This is my first time using a DAS pass so im not extremely familiar, I did watch your video which was helpful! My question is - with the DAS pass should I also purchase a Genie + pass? I was really only wanting the Genie + just for MK. But, can’t figure out how to only buy one just for MK. To my understanding you bought yours in the park, but is there a way to buy one just for one day before I goto the park? Thanks!

Would be great if there was a vlog at the Disney parks WITHOUT the genie+ and lightening lane … to see if it is even worth it at Disney anymore for a family of four who can’t afford all the add ons 🙈 as I think it has priced out a lot of families!
