Hi Everybody! We're doing something a little different today, I'm making a recipe by ‪@gordonramsay‬ ! This VEGAN BLT was quite good, but well, I think maybe it's a bit complicated!
Check here for my simplified Vegan Bacon Recipe:
www.theeburgerdude.com/post/r...
Here's Gordon's original recipe too:
www.gordonramsay.com/gr/recip...
My goal at THEE BURGER DUDE is to show vegans and non-vegans alike how easy it is to make delicious and decadent vegan meals. I used to eat a lot of meat and dairy before going vegan, so this channel is aimed at people like myself before going vegan. Additionally, I totally welcome any vegans who might be missing one of their favorite fast food or comfort food meals as well, come on in! I want to show that you can still have burgers, mac n' cheese, fried chick’n and any other kind of comfort food, and that it’s possible with plant-based ingredients.
If you’re new to veganism and don’t know where to start, or if you’re totally new to cooking, or new to both, then I hope you find something on this site that piques your interest and are inspired to cook! And if you have any questions please contact me!
If you are interested in recommendations for Kitchen Gear, Spices & Pantry Items, or what I use for my Photos and Videos, please check this link: www.amazon.com/shop/thee_burg...

My husband and I really enjoyed this recipe! I made it after watching Gordan and three youtubers make it. Gordan didn't keep his tofu strickly to the center and sealed on the edges like others seem to be doing. A little coming out the sides is not a problem. So, I reduced the sriracha to half and cayenne to maybe a 1/4 tsp, then added the tofu across the whole rice paper slice, topped with another slice, pressed firmly all over, and baked on a cooling rack placed over a sheet pan. I baked for about 20 minutes without flipping, and then went ahead and flipped them, pressing them once again, and baking for an additional 5 mins or so. They did crisp up even more as they cooled outside the oven. We liked it more than just plain rice paper bacon. The process went quickly and easily for me.

Your version looks really GOOD! Leaving the rice paper sheets whole, then adding the lines of crumbled tofu is such a smart idea. Whenever i make any vegan mayonnaise based sauces, i found that adding a very small amount of black salt, really adds an actual egg based mayonnaise flavor. But only a tiny, tiny amount.

I love your methods - very creative :) I'll give you a tip because I really like your style! I never have a problem making any mayonaise because I use a stick blender, starting with my base of choice (typically for me, soymilk or tofu and recently avacado - yum!), salt, lemon juice and whatever flavor I want at the time along with a pinch of guar gum or xanthan gum (I prefer the results of guar gum) and then adding a little nuetral tasting oil at a time in to the mix - I even stop the blender while adding the oil inbetween blending cycles and it still comes out perfect. Comes together super quick, too :) (I literally add a pinch of guar gum, but can use an 1/8 teaspoon if making a lot of mayo) The jar of guar gum has lasted me for over a year, so well worth it :)

Thank you for the video, which lets me know that this will take extra time, when I try it at least once. Note: for rice paper bacon, I wet the entire sheet (sometimes 2 sheets together) in water, and then cut the wet sheets into strips. Wetting first avoids having dry pieces of rice paper break off while you cut.
@TheeBurgerDude
@TheeBurgerDude 2 жыл бұрын
That's exactly what I do in my video!

@@TheeBurgerDude At about 1:30 you are seen cutting dry rice paper into strips, and then wetting them. Later, at about 2:35, you are seen wetting an entire sheet, dipping it in marinade, adding the marinated tofu, adding a second marinated sheet, and then cutting the rice sheet-tofu 'sandwich' with what looks like a pizza cutter. So overall the rice paper cutting is done two different ways in the video. So people get to see two possible approaches. Thanks again for the video.

Two tips on the aioli (or any mayo recipe actually, I make it with aquafaba and soybean oil): 1) stick the oil and the just egg for an hour in the fridge prior to making the recipe. The low temperature helps ir emulsify. 2) either up the quantity severely or try it with hand mixer in a tall cup. You need the protein liquid (be it just egg, aquafaba or plant milk) to keep spinning in a controllee way instead of going haywire, and you can't achieve that by blitzing a small amount of liquid. With a hand mixer and cold ingredients, it should take more than a couple minutes. Once you get the muscle memory, you don't even have to drizzle the oil if the ingredients are cold enough. Just blitz everything together at once if you know the proportions by heart.

Never been a Gordon Ramsey fan, so no way will I waste my time on his bacon. More than happy to continue to use your recipe and Sauce's when I make facon. Solid video, cant wait to try the sandwich with your aioli. I fail too at trying it in the blender. Solid video. Thanks!
