Hey botgrinder super bad thing happened Saturday.I used a pack. Pulled it out checked the battery and was 3.5v per cell so all good. Battery wasn’t hot. Sat it down ran upstairs to get something to eat and my mother in law was screaming fire. Ran down and was like wtf. Got her out ran upstairs and got kids and wife out. Ran inside got the animals out. Ran back inside turned heat off turned attic fan on ran downstairs and started to put fire out. Was so Smokey from ceiling to floor. Ran into a door half opened and got a concussion. Continued to fight the fire and saved the house. Was in the icu burn unit on breathing tube and induced coma for 4 days. I’m out now but sucks losing all my hobby stuff and couple rooms in my house. Flying is my stress reliever and could deff use that now. Been stressful last week but family is safe and I’m in recovery

I started with Walksnail so I don't really notice the latency, they have recently added race mode with fixed latency though so there is an attempt lol. However, I will slowly be moving to HDZero. HDZ has WAY better analog support and can use the WS vrx with it with no lost features (that I know of).

I now have a bunch of grandkids and fly mainly DJI, love the clarity of the video link. I also fly HDZero in 2" micro and racers. It definitely rocks and Carl is awesome. And I still have an analog whoop that I enjoy flying. Happy flying everyone. 💖😎

HDZero hits the sweet spot for me too. I only use DJI for my old FPV potato now. HDZ feels so "hood up" to me. I never flew analog but I can definitely tell the difference between DJI and HDZ.

HDZero is the system I want to like but have heard too many stories of quality and reliability issues and I struggle with the idea of paying money that I don't really have for gear that is not as good as it should be. Plus the way HDZ breaks up bothers me. I only use better quality analog stuff and it really hits the sweet spot for me. Have a few Walksanil quads and it is cool to have a beautiful picture sometimes but it actually feels good to go back to the grity but "real" feel of analog. Love hearing your views on life and the universe.

Hdzero goggles are badass but TOO EXPENSIVE still the best in my opinion though but I use walksnail and analog with mind I don't have any hdzero units yet. Yet

As a long term user of DJI v1 system (and now Walksnail), I've always been interested in trying a low latency system such as HDzero or Analogue to see if I'd notice. Yesterday whilst flying Walksnail i felt like something wasn't right, quad felt off, wasn't hitting lines, missing dive gaps, etc. Anyway I found out I was running in standard frame rate mode instead of high frame rate mode (~37ms vs ~24ms). Now I have some idea of how Analogue pilot's feel when flying a true digital system and now I really want to try Analogue.

I fly walksnail and in Racemode it aligns the channels to raceband, so I fly with analog hdzero and Dji all same time just fine, it’s not as black and white as we can all chill and rip together 🤘

Although I fly mostly WS using HDZ Goggles + VRX, I have a couple of HDZ quads when I get tired of the variable latency and just want to feel that instant connection! Wish they came out with a HDZ tx that has onboard recording, that would be sweet AF!

I was kinda surprised that you had that kind of bike lane coverage there. We here in Germany are fed this image that you can't ride a bike in the US. Meanwhile you actually have the same kind of shitty bike infrastructure that we have in our cities (We know ours is shitty, too, don't get me wrong. Germany's politics are driven by car cult). I bought an HD0 goggles and VTX set end of ´22. Two whoop VTX's almost instantly died and I don't know why (might have been my fault, I'm not the best at building.) Then I started a new job and ran out of energy and time to fly, basically. And now I'm debating if I even wanna stay in the hobby. The couple of minutes that I flew my HD0 whoops were great though ;) All the best to you, man.

I have done analog, WS, and DJI, but not HD0. I am pretty satisfied with all of them, so I am waiting for the next step up to put in new quads, whatever that may be. It just has to be lighter weight, lower latency, more pixels, deeper penetration, and less cost.

i started with dji. so latency i can deal with flying freestyle. i also fly hdz for racing and 75mm or larger whoops. analog for 65mm. hdz is the best i do agree. control and flight characteristics hdz provides in definitely superior. wish it had better penetration tho. dji i do enjoy also especially in an environment hdz has trouble. i guess im not really picky as long as im flying.

Ive been suprised with some of the nice analog VTX camera setups. I was use to crappy cams but now makes me want to stick with what i have untill hdzero is a little cheaper.

I still prefer my OG fat shark dominators with 1 antenna . I like the video quality on this alot I might have to try some before i buy buy my question is , Is there a good low light camera and whats the farthest you've flown distance? Thanks bro great video and cool rip spot

Hey bot one question I have bought the hdz goggles vtx etc and was somewhat disappointed that yeah there is HDMI out but when you fly in lowest latency 90hz mode most monitors can't display it but unfortunately the displays even lack some knowhow how to at least down sample that stupid signal -.- maybe someone has an idea what kind of low cost device i can hook up in between . Thanks a lot everyone i just wanted to emphasize on that one because that's a major drawback for me since now again watching someone else fly is only possible in the medium latency mode

I fly Hdzero and Walksnail 1-week Hd0 the next walksnail and at first, I can feel the latency after a few packs I'm good but when I fly Walksnail it makes me sick sometimes never has that happened with Hdzero

I heard HD Zero Open source? Are there free Plans to build DIY VTX or reciver? I fly Skyzone 04X, it have 2 Module Bays, One Primär and secubdary Bay. Are there HD Zero VRX on the Marked you can Plug in the standart Module bay of the Analogue Googles like IRC Rapid fire Module?

What about the signal penetration? I thought I’d like to get into digital with hd zero, because it’s significantly cheaper than dji.

When I tried HDZ the only thing I didn’t like about it was at the time you had to bolt a box onto the front of your googles, and because I only had a really shitty fitting pair of old Fatshark that were terribly fitting in comparison to my DJI ones, that I gave up, I simply don’t hear five hundred quid to take the risk on the HDZero googles, if I did I would the system was great.

How do I land!?!? 😂😂😂 Is it true that all of the hdzero vtx’s have a built in mic and send audio back to the goggles?

Heh heh I fly to relax so I don’t usually push too hard, but Friday I brought an extra goggle and after work introduced my coworkers and one of my students and her dad to flying. While I was in the air someone asked ‘hey could you land on that roof?’ To which I said ‘sure, why not!’ despite that the roof had a slight slope and I had never attempted any kind of perch before on a 5” quad. Of course I nervously disarmed about 2 feet up and flipped it, and of course I didn’t have turtle mode set up. And of course below the edge of the roof there was 6” of standing water. Thankfully the dad was able to find a long window cleaner pole and I was able to get it flipped and fly away. Felt pretty hairy for a while there though. 😂 Weirdly I know I would have been so bummed to lose that quad but at the same time I kind of enjoyed that weird little misadventure with it.

I lost my first buildet FPV Drone in the Lake. I was a little bit Drunk. It was my Favorite Drone, and I had not buildet new one. It is 2 Years ago. I Still feel extremly high Pain when I see some one fly over Water. It Hurts. Rhe Drone of my Provmfile picture. It was an GepRC MK3 6S with Holybro Kakute F7, 32Bit ESC Stack and Emax ECO V1 2207. Buildet shortly before the Pandemic. The Stack was For the time Expensive but for70€ realy cheap in comparison for today. I made an extreamly clean Build and soldered the Motor wires from the inside Out to the ESC, and spent many Time, I Put Matek LED Boards in series on the Arms, and Put an transparent thrink tube over the Motor wires and the LEDs. The Transparent Thrink Tube made glowing effect over the Arm. It requred to put the Tube first bevore soldering. The LEDs was real adresseble and avry LED was full controllable. I spendet so much Work In the build i never seen on any other FPV Quad

Like you, NO Way would I buy DJI. I started with a camera drone, and when looking, I remember you would have to give your whole life history to DJI before you could arm your Phantom III. It limited you to where you could fly. So I bought a Hubsan, which had no such requirements. When I started to fly freestyle, I saw Sharkbite, and bit! Was blown away with video after analog. Saved enough from My Soc. Sec. checks to spring for HDZero goggles, when my HDO2's bit started spotting on lens. Got in on the $499 introductory! Glad I did! I haven't even updated anything, and they work awesome for analog! Currently fly an analog 6s Cidora, and a 3" KING KONG 125 3S, stripped down(no hoops) with my original shark bite vtx and camera. No OSD, cause I haven't updated firmware. I don't care, I like flying with no crap on screen,and my radio tells me when to land. Will keep adding HDZero quads or VTX's from now on, but no promises. I'll probably treat myself to an analog 2-3" when clearouts demand I get it! Lol Keep up the good content! Love your stuff.

i'm flying analog 5 inch homemade and a tinny from beta fpv. i'm considering HD zero since a while but i'm broke so it's just good ol' analog low res :) i wont switch to dji neither. and people are making fun of me when i say dji is like apple , no right to repair, closed ecosystem :) it feel like before DJI noone was able to fly a drone

Still flying analogue because Ive been waiting to see who emerges from the hd wars. I don't want to invest in an ecosystem that goes tits up and support ends. And I WILL NOT buy dji for freestyle as they just want to lock you in to their eco. They should have never gone beyond camera drones. But thanks BOTGRINDER, you've pretty much answered the questions that I couldn't find answers to. Tbh I was leaning towards walksnail because I didn't know the story behind hdzero, I thought it was just a subsidiary of fatshark who I don't like because why would I buy just goggles and have to supply a receiver separate? What i dont get is people be like i need 500hz control i can tell the dofference. I can feel the lag difference with crossfire. But then use DJI with latency. And get worse behind things and further.. Like i have analog, HDzero , walksnail, and DJI still (slowly changing over away from DJI. DJI slowly will only be O3 & new O4. DJI doesnt care they like upgrade. And O3 so heavy. Everything getting so heavy. Gopros heavier.

I wanna switch away from DJI pretty badly, I dont have that much gear, v2 goggles, 2 air units for my planes, and 2 quads with air units in them. The issue for me is not being able to sell what I have to be able to make the switch without losing another arm and leg... If only HDZero was out a couple years ago...

All small companies seem humble until they get big. Apple use to be the HDZero of the computer world "Were different but better" now every phone is over $1k and doesn't have shit for new features besides software updates.
