1973 Aloha concert from Hawaii was the first concert ever broadcast via satellite around the world to an audience of over 1.6 billion viewers from 42 countries. The concert had to be broadcast in Hawaii to reach the largest audience. Remember, this is 1973 and we had only been in space for about 15 or so years and didn't have the technology that we have now. This concert was a huge deal and Elvis wanted to make it perfect, so he didn't joke around during serious songs. It goes to show his versatility in Rock and Roll, R &B, Country and Gospel. Elvis was born in 1935 so he in his 20's when he did Jail House Rock and 38 here. P.S. Elvis was careful in his renunciation of words and even at his worst, when his health was failing, ust a few weeks before his death @ 42 in 1977, his voice never faltered.
