No one knew how to sing a song like he did. He understood how and where to pull back, go high, low, end the note etc...He had a musical intelligence that many don't understand. He doesn't beat you over the head with his voice, but left you awestruck with it's power, range and his ability to change it at will and in a heartbeat. This performance gives me the chills every time I hear it. Vicki

If you've grown up with Elvis from the beginning of his career, he's part of you and just ingrained in you soul! I've loved that man for over 65 years first as young girl with a huge crush. In my teens and twenties love of his music. After that the love for the most wonderful kind human being. In my 70s all the above and More that I don't have explanations of. He's in my soul! A fan over 65 years and until I pass on!

I was blessed to see him perform this song twice... this same year (just a few months later) & again the very next year. It nearly brought the roof down both times. He & every person on that stage with him gave it their all. And the power they generated flowed over you, around you & through you. I guarantee you that every one of us in that packed arena in Nashville & the second time in Louisville, had goosebumps & tears...many thousands of us. It felt communal. All of us united in our love of country (& love of Elvis too!). Of course the whole show, each time, was terrific. But this song was obviously very special to Elvis, his backup singers & his orchestra. And it was a highlight of each show. I can't emphasize enough how moving & powerful (& loud!) it was. Truly unforgettable. 💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙💫💙

I read that through this song specifically ( and generally he did it with his music all his life) - he wanted to unify old divisions of north- south, black-white, secular- faith. I am not even an american, but that open inclusivity in his music is what kills me as i discover him because in India our best music always transcended religion, region, language etc.. He cant be defined or limited. His voice encompasses entire humanity and as if it wasnt enough goes straight to divinity. Just magical.

Your reaction was as exciting as this performance. This magical performance was in 1973 called Aloha from Hawaii. It was the first satellite broadcast ever and One billion people watched it. I was just 16 years old & I was "one" of those billion glued to my TV set. It was the first time I ever saw him perform. I became an instant Elvis fan & because he has never dissapointed I am now a forever fan. After watching the new ELVIS 2022 movie I was nostalgic for Elvis. So I revisted Graceland in Dec 2022 excited to see his home at Christmas time & see for the first time the added attractions of the Elvis Museum that contain his Automobile & Costume collections. I couldn't wait to get to his costumes. On a mission I ran immediately to the very suit Elvis is wearing in this broadcast! Its called the Red White & Blue American Eagle (Eagle design across his chest). So in 1973 I saw him perform for 1st time in the suit & in 2022 I stood beside that very suit and had my picture taken. A simple momento that I'll treasure forever.

The next day we toured Sun Records & Beale Street. Then on our way back home to GA we stopped by his home in Tupelo. It was such a joyful trip. Lisa Marie was still with us, the ELVIS 2022 movie was getting the acclaim & awards it deserved & Graceland was decked out for Christmas. The first first being “Dixie,” (The national anthem of the confederacy), then the second verse is the battle hymn of the republic which glorifies Americans fight for freedom and justice, and then the third verse is a beautiful old Negro lullaby. I love that all three sides are represented here in this song. I should’ve never doubted Elvis 😊

Hi Sir, he sings with all his saoul and body, and his band his outstanding, You've already seen him give scarves to his fans, sometimes you can see him taking off his outfits little stars and throwing them to his fans while continuing to sing. At one of his concerts he asked his jeweler to bring a box with his jewels and gave them to his fans and especially to a child in a wheelchair near the stage. In one of his concerts he threw one of his capes. I learned English to understand his songs. Thank you for your work, I love your reactions and your humor. Dude I love your passion for elvis.elvis is a blessing no other artist has that passion for music like he did.elvis inspired many artist in movement, wardrobe, buy your own plane, conducting your self with respect. Michael Jackson copied many things from elvis.the standing on his tipple toes the wardrobe, and the goldbelt, glasses.and look where it took him to stardom.godbless.

I have loved Elvis for 67 years Ray. Over the years I bought all his albums, watched all his movies, and documentaries over and over Seen millions of pictures, read many books ,watched drama docus about him Seen all I thoght there was to see about him. I live in the UK I'm not rich so never got to see him perform live sadly ( partly Cos of the 'douche bag manager') But my son told me about your youtube site only a few days ago 27th October 2023 to be exact.Watching your reaction to some of the best loved Elvis songs, andvtherecare hubdreds more still, has brought fresh insights to me. I love how you love him and See him for who he was,how great he was. What acdiamobdcwe had in our midst Thank you Ray I also hope you are recovering well after your surgery. Towards the end of this concert he takes off his belt and hands it to someone in the audience. On the last song he puts on his cape and at the end flings it out into the audience and someone hands him a crown and the King walks around the stage holding his crown, EPIC!!!
