A little story for you all about Hilti from me here in England. 35 years ago a contractor came to the Theatre I work at to do some work. If I remember rightly he did some electrics, which I don't do. About a week after he had left I found that he had left his 110 volt corded Hilti TE1 SDS drill behind. I phoned him many times and after a month or so he said he had replaced it with a newer model Hilti and I could keep it or throw it away as he had thrashed it pretty hard since he had it and it was probably on it's last legs. So I kept it, cleaned it, bought a 110 transformer and it became the workshop bitch so to speak, used by all my young assistants and trainees who would happily kick it across concrete floors to each other instead of passing it to each other. It was thrashed using drill bits far too big for it and generally mistreated in every way possible. I meanwhile used my pretty new Makita SDS drills and guarded them against trainees and assistants!! Well.....35 years on and that Hilti is still as sweet as it was when I got it 2nd hand and it has outlasted many new Makita's, DeWalts and others. Nowadays though, I treat it with the respect it deserves. I also have to say that it drills just as quickly as other modern up to date Makita's etc that are also used by people at my work. It is just a joy to use and is not at all aggressive! It is vibration free and very smooth but drills really quickly. It also has a very long lead on it. So if I'm re-vamping one of our 25 dressing rooms, I can plug it in and it will comfortably reach every wall in a 15 foot square room. I can then keep my battery gear for screwdriving etc. Dave.

I use the Hilti SF6H A22, the SID-4 Impact and the TE6 A22 on the old battery platform. Hilti gear is by far the best I've used in over 40 years. I also run Milwaukee Gen3 combi, impact and the 61/2" Circular saw. Milwaukee are junk by comparison with trigger issues on all 3 tools. Plus, after sales service with Hilti is 2nd to none. I sent my Milwaukee combi back to have the trigger issue addressed and it took 3 weeks to come back and the problem was still there. My old assistant dropped my earlier model SF6H Hilti down a deep street drain. It still worked OK but sounded a bit weird on the run-out. I called my local Hilti rep and he was with me within half an hour with a replacement drill and he took mine away to be looked at. Mine was back with me within 24 hours and the rep took the loaner back. So half an hour down-time compared to 3 weeks with the Milwaukee. Dave.

I admit that the wonky batteries were what steered my away when I was looking for a new platform. But I really like and respect Hilti as a brand. I feel like they represent the higher end of quality build and robustness and taming power a bit to maintain that, which is a viable strategy. Milwaukee seems to have a bit of the Dodge approach, flashy numbers and marketing, it’s insane while it lasts but it just feels less refined. Makita hit the Goldilocks zone especially with the xgt drills.

I have had their original 22v impact and hammer drill from a kit I bought years ago that I used for commerical metal roofing and panels, they're the best. I've seen dewalts, makitas, and Milwaukees fail or just not last as long on a single battery. I never had to have more than 2 5.0 batts.

I changed my 10 your old hilti kit to Neuron platform last year. The batteries are amazing. Hold charge so much better than anything else. I now charge batteries once a month or every two weeks or so.

Nice video! At the end of the day you use what you like, depends what type of job you have. If your sinking large screws on a construction site, that SID 6 prob wouldn’t be the best option. If your in hvac like myself, you won’t notice the difference sinking smaller sheet metal screws and construction screws up to 4” I was all about power myself being heavily invested in Milwaukee, but over time had some Problems with their tools and gave Hilti a go. They are very nice tools and very comfortable/smooth operating. Once you have the batteries/charger, any additional tools are very reasonable. Their look/molding are second to none. That makita drill is sweet. Just can’t get past the teal!

I was going to add this line to my arsenal of tools, I used these tools, I like these tools while I had access to them. I can't say I won't ever buy them, I realized that I have more drills and impacts than the rest of my family combined, they worry about me sometimes, but truth at hand is a lot of the other lines easily match performances like you said and I experienced and the only reason to have them is to have them. Sometimes I think ego and envy drives the market in a way. I'm victim of it myself.

Amazing video brother 🙌 this is in my top 5 favorite videos you have ever made I was so curious about the Hilti and almost bought it but when I added the batteries and charger in the cart I was shocked 😳 on the price and I just couldn't justify the spending almost 700 for a kit. Second I wanna thank you for putting the xgt in there so people can see how amazing these Makita xgt tools really are. There's a KZfaqr who absolutely bashed the XGT said it was garbage and the rigid brushless was better 😂 🤓 so I'm so glad everyone can actually see what these tools can do against other amazing tools 🔥🔥 that Makita xgt drill is amazing 😍 I'm absolutely in love with it and the impact driver as well so you say the Hilti has a better feel than the xgt that's saying a lot!! I like Hilti somewhat, but I also think that to justify the higher price you must take advantage of the build quality and warranty. If you don't, you might as well opt for other brands for less money. I do think the test was a bit unfair for the Bosch, as the drill was designed for the 8ah battery it performs a lot worse with the smaller batteries. And since the Nuron batteries are huge, why not just go with the proper Bosch 8ah battery? The Makita XGT drill is a winner for sure.

Holy crap that Makita was fast. I like what Hilti and Makita are doing. It's as if they understand that bigger batteries aren't more comfortable to use all day. Heck, I'm not a fan of Milwaukee 6ah batteries for that very reason: heft.

Hilti is premium precision they're not the best in the bunch on actual specs in use but will get the job done I think it's a personal preference some people like them some people don't I've used them I'd use German metabo I've used Fein Bosch these are all precision tools sometimes being the fastest isn't always the greatest getting it done precisely is what you want I started out with DeWalt 14.4v nicad batteries in 1994 I would help my father as a mechanic assistant hand him tools do certain tasks for him they taught me how to do I was 17 I still have both tools the reciprocating saw was a porter cable model 629 six-speed USA made 8 amp heavy-duty it got the job thank you for sharing this video

They used to do a monthly payment scheme. Rep came on site and you bought tools on a monthly payment. Rep would collect once a month cash. Great idea. All their tools were 20% dearer than the rest but everything lasts for ever. I have loads of 110v stuff thats still going strong and most has never had a service. From the mid 80s. 2 x TE10, 1 TE17, 2 x DX450, 3 x Drywall guns, a jigsaw, 2 x lasers.

Oh I’ve wanted to go to the Hilti store by the spaghetti bowl for awhile but I don’t get up north enough anymore. I do like the Nuron platform but one silly thing that I hate is the battery and it’s aesthetic. I love the look of the Hilti tools with the normal batteries since those batteries complement the tools. The Nuron batteries look so ugly on the tool. Great video as always!!

With the price for only 2 tools 2 battery and a charger i still choose other brand for cheaper Price but they still can done my jobs easily

I got the Fuel drill and driver. The drill is ok, honestly the driver is so damn good the drill just pales in comparison. But for $350 it’s not easy to beat.

I've been using cordless tools for a good 15 years now, half of which has been possibly in one if not THE harshest environment you could be using power tools in; which is the sewage networks of a major city, and I've had Bosch tools fail me or just flat out not being able to keep up with what we need to do, I've gone through maybe 3 in the space of 7 years. Hilti has not. I've inherited one that was already a good 5 or 6 years old when I started at my current job, and to this day it's still going. It's ridiculous. We even once dropped it in the tunnels and it was partially submerged for a good 2 or so hours before we realised it. That was 3 years ago. The battery had to be disposed of. The tool itself is still going strong and outpaces my mate's 36v Bosch hammer.

I would’ve loved to went with Hilti when I switched to Milwaukee, but the nearest store is 3 hours away in Dallas and I’m not doing that every time I need a new tool for a job lol. I wonder how much they miss in sales by not being in a big box.

Question: do you know why Hilti uses a 22 volt battery instead of a 20 volt battery? Side note: the performance of that Makita drill driver was insane…I had no idea that the Makita drill driver had outrageous numbers like that.

Hilti markets to companies so it makes sense they would put more emphasis on durability and reliability.

Nice Review. Hilt is not striving for fastest better numbers. Its an overall experience. Repairs parts available for 20yrs from now! match that (RED Blue Yellow) Price cap repairs! failed to mention. No mater the issue hilt has a price cap on repairs meaning is more cost effective to repair than throwaway. I do believe RED also has a price cap on repairs. In comparison of the tools adding vibration into the equation would be awesome. Hilti's AVR is awesome in concrete tools. But that still doesn't mean they didn't incorporate that into the other tools. Noise level was less in hilti as you demonstrated. big deal on a job site or small inclosure. Should test noise in a box and outside of a box on all tools as well as vibration while using it!

Dewalt, Milwaukee, and mekita, are all comparable and very reliable. I use Dewalt the most. I had a bosch impact gun fail on med pretty quick. in would never buy them again. They have other things I would buy.

Faster dosnt mean better .HIKTI IS LONG LASTING TOOLS 🔥💯.They dont care about speed and bla bla bla .They care about strong tool so you can abuse it and still works ,plus warranty 20 years

I would not recommend Hilti tools for general wood working or wood construction. Hilti has some of the best post-installed concrete & CMU anchors on the market. Their bread & butter is anchoring to concrete for the commercial construction world.

Let's cut to the chase, HILTI doesn't give a shit about on how fast it can drive the screw or the drill bit whereas the other tool brand such as dewalt, milwaukee and makita etc only give a shit about the power of the tools. Hilti is aiming for professional end user like big company and they do only care about the reliability of their tools and their after sales service. Their tools design to get the job done in a average speed and their tools design to LAST FOREVER if not LAST LONGER THAN ANY OTHER BRAND.

Milwaukee guy here. These new impact are crazy fast. That being said, fast isn’t always better. If I had the funds & availability, Hilti all the way

Milwaukee is the Glock of power tools. Dewalt is the Smith and Wesson. Makita is the CZ.

Lo que tendría sentido es comprarlas a la larga en un tiempo prolongado de trabajo una marca contra la otra, viendo la degradación de baterías, el desempeño de los motores , los sistemas de seguridad que tienen , que por supuesto hilti gana a las demás marcas muy sobradamente y este tipo de cosas, no hay que valorar los tiempos de trabajo, que a pesar de ser importantes no son el único punto a tener en cuanta, manos tienes una y si una máquina te la parte te acordarás de la diferencia
