Crap 💩 Facing problem on quest 2, the image bleeding/rainbow on white edges surfaces, need to restart the quest to back to normal. Well the only way till now is watching through Bigscreen/Virtual desktop streamed from your PC (only Firefox works be advised). The Netflix in quest browser the moment ya hit play, a strange layer comes up and mess with the screen.

Thanks for the info on this. Netflix have a support page called "How to use Netflix on your Meta Quest (Oculus) VR headset" which shows the resolution of the web browser and app in Quest and it confirms your findings. What the article didn't tell us was the codec being used. I see from your video that it's using MP4, which is a shame. Both Netflix and Quest 3 support AV1. I suspect Netflix didn't want to make different routes for Quest 1 / 2 and for Quest 3, as the former doesn't support AV1. Still, it's a vast improvement over what we had before, so now I don't need to load up my PC just to watch a Netflix video on my headset anymore.

No, 4K is not possible and with these screens 4K would make much smaller difference than on TV.

When we use Netflix (on Chrome) inside Virtual Desktop, it is able to get to 4k?

No, Chrome can't get more than 1080p even when you just watch it on a monitor.

@@Thomas_Voland That really sucks. At least PC has other methods to watch 4K content, but it seems that movie stream providers don't want people to be able to legally use them. Windows also really seems to hate HDR videos. I still haven't managed to get HDR videos files to run properly on my PC, they can only play through certain browsers (not talking about the auto HDR stuff, but native HDR video files).

@@thenonexistinghero Windows has problems with any kind of HDR, in games too. Linux works much better in terms of HDR.

@@Thomas_Voland Sadly Linux is pretty awful for gaming. Though I'll probably switch to Linux within a few years for most things other than gaming since it'll probably be possible for the government to gain access to everyone's private files by then if things keep going the way they do.
