Last time i said: "hopefully this is not necessary all 4 weeks"
it lasted 2 days and now I had the next big problem.
This time a stuck filament in the AMS feeder slot 2 - not 1 like the last big problem with the broken filament. No, this time a STUCK filament in feeder 2 inside the AMS. So i had to disassemble the whole thing again including this time also the COMPLETE FEEDER!!!!!!!!
I´m really asking this: IS IT ONLY MINE? Is it my fault if I want to print and not look at my printer?

After about a year, my AMS seems to be wearing out. I got a front motor over-load/overheating error on slot 3 a few days ago. There was not a knotted filament issue or any issue I could find. Took it apart quickly and made sure not broken filament or loose tube (I am use to taking it apart (I don't even put the damn screws back in it anymore). I did order a couple of front feeder assemblies and partial parts for it for stock. Then yesterday, for the first time ever, the hot-end self de-structed, took the engineering pad with it, the nozzle was imbedded in a plastic blob. I yi yi yi yi.

I didn't opt in for the AMS but mine has been a trooper only having a few adhesion issues with one of the plates. Since getting everything sorted its been nothing but a solid workhorse. Send g-code print and expected results. X1C non combo with a little over 1k printing hours without any drama.

I dont want to kick you when you are down but it may be you... or rather your filament. I have been printing for almost 1800hrs and only has issues with certain inland yellow filament breaking. Now I test my filament with a bend test before using. It if breaks after 2 or 3 bends I dry it. If after a 8+ hr drying test if it fails the bend test again I toss the roll. So far I have used sunlu, creality, inland, polymaker, and some random amazon brands and have been successful for many months. I have pulled filament from the back PTFE tube if I ran into a retract error. Between the filament buffer and the hot end. Cutting then pulling the filament. Another option for your particular issue would be to power cycle the machine and rerun the "load" with the ptfe tube off of the back and snip the end that looked suspect. Since the knot traveled through the ptfe tube and got jammed at the AMS pushing it forward to fix would be easier than tracking and getting it jammed up. *** keep in mind when you run the load function with the tube disconnected it will push out a lot so be prepared to stop the printer when enough comes through*** Hopefully what I said makes sense. Experience. I am an Kickstarter backer with the X1CC and had my printer since early Aug. 1800hrs printed, AMS used almost exclusively and never had to take my AMS apart.

Thanks for your long answer, but with fresh opend filament, which I after all tested in 2 other printers and printing fine, causing a total STUCK filament in the feeder inside the AMS, no one can tell me that is a bad spool or has something to do with PTFE tubes....I had the same again with a ABS spool I printed fine a day before and was in the meantime in a Silica Box with under 10% humidity. Also the power cycle, has not worked. That is one of the first things everybody tries, or? After the power cycle, the filament was still stuck (mechanically stuck) inside the feeder and the printer itself said that all is fine BIT was not able to grab it and load. Again, the filament was STUCK in the FEEDER, not in any of the PTFE tubes! you can see it in the microscope view. the filament was somehow wider as normal , made it through all PTFE tubes to be fully stuck / blocked inside the AMS Feeder Mechanism (with the grey knob you have to push to load the filament) Good to hear that yours working flawless, mine not. I had again problems, this time with endless searching for the homeposition, until I power cycled and then it worked, again. Maybe something is wrong with mine, i have no idea. Another Bambu X1 User wrote me an email and we exchanged 3MF files, HE can print my problems without problems, so it´s not the gcode, for some of the other problems. But a stuck filament inside the feedrer, not the PTFE tube, that I have to really pull HARD to remve it, is not normal. But again, thanks for your comment. Happy printing Sandor - DM4DS

@@DM4DS Thank you for clarification. We have very different experiences. When I recommended power cycling it was for a different reason. 1.Disconnect last ptfe tube from filament buffer to the coupler on the back of the machine. 2. power cycle. 3. Run a load filament command. 4. This will push out the filament but it will keep flowing since the ptfe line is disconnected. 5. Stop the printer.(power it off) 6. Snip the end. 7. Reconnect the ptfe tube and coupler 8. Rerun a load/unload. I figured the line was able go in one direction so if going back didnt work then going forward would. Either way its unfortunate you have run into issues with the AMS.

@@ashleys3dprintshop Thanks again, but mine was now twice stuck INSIDE of the feeder mechanism on the front of the AMS. Not in the tube under the feeder, no, inside the feeder. Just mm away from the grey knob you push to load the filament, there is a bearing. it was stuck inside the injection molded feeder. Today another user commented that he had the same issue. The printer thinks all is fine. the LED is normal. IF you try to load, it does not work. The printer is not able to grab it. I tryed that after i was not able to remove the filament after "unload". It happend now with PLA+ and ABS . PLA could be heat creap. but ABS? For me it looks something like the printer cuts the filament and somehow pushes it against the already cutted one, but the nozzle too cold to extrude? Makes no sense. In some way the filament must be pushed against something, otherwise it would not be wider in diameter to get stuck in the feeder, but makes it through all the PTFE tubes including the buffer. Your "problem" is different. Happy printing Sandor - DM4DS

They are having a ton of issues, and I dont think they were prepared for all the support issues that hit them at once. I am returning mine and wont be ordering for a while.

I have issues, too mate. If i print pla for 3-4h the printer stops purgeing filament. Maybe heat creep i don't know. Enclosure is closed maybe thats the problem.

@TheOldKenobi - Thanks for your comment - I had the same with ABS again, but stopped making these videos. It is annoying. For PLA, your argument sounds plausible, maybe it was "too warm" and after the cut and unload, it was somehow wider and got stuck in the feeder mechanism itself. The printer was not able to load it by itself, no error, but I was not able to remove it with normal "men power" - I thought: It goes well or the feeder itself is destroyed, as I pulled that strong, the filament came out. I go as far as to say, that a "normal" 50kg person would not be able to pull that hard on the filament to remove it. Shows also that the filament was in good shape, otherwise it would just be snapped. I printed several things now without problems, but also had again problems and "simple" prints. It sometimes like a gamble. A other X1 user wrote me and we exchanged 3MF files, he was able to print my things witout problems, so it´s not the gcode. I still hope it gets better. Thanks for your comment Sandor - DM4DS

I have been going through the same type of problems. I am unable to use the printer and they send me new tool head board and guess what? After 30 days of waiting they Gl forgot to send me complete parts

@cdd7672 horrible to hear - Mine is now broken again since 3 weeks with a broken extruder and they don´t send parts....worsed service I´ve ever experienced and that with such an expensive printer! I hope you get it fixed. Sandor - DM4DS

When taking out a spool from the AMS, do you push the grey "FEED" button while pulling the filament out? It releases tention from the drivegear I think. Only issue so far I have had is failing to retract filamt back to spool sometimes after a print. A fix for that is to decouple the pushfit in the back and full on the filament so it is free of the toolhead and retry the retraction on the touch screen.
@DM4DS
@DM4DS Жыл бұрын
@phaun5055 - Yes I do push the grey button, not just pulling on the filament . The retract fail I had multiple times, it looks for me that the spool backwind is trying to pull out the last 0.5cm and is sometimes not able, especially with empty spools which like to "stand up" if the lid is opened while trying to fix the error. During prints, my lid is always closed, just to clear that. Happy printing, stay healthy Sandor - DM4DS
