Great video. Do you think I can replace the original LO with a VFO like the SI5351a ? will I still need a BALUN? Also, don't LNBs have a band filter that will stop you from increasing the frequency range?

My GT Media V8 Finder Pro 2 has max lnb range settable to "9750-10750" only (there is no wider range setting) and then trying to use 10492 ends up with "out of range". Their newer "meters" are worse than old or clones?

I also needed extras and I love having spares because I’m very impatient lol, so when I pull out a fresh print I let it cool down so it self releases but I can’t wait to start the next print lol! I insert another sheet and get going again. I just bought the new G10 plate for Bambu in WHITE, it’s a little pricey but claims you don’t need glue stick for any Filament especially PETG, and it’s a smooth matte finish like the smooth PEI

After about a year, my AMS seems to be wearing out. I got a front motor over-load/overheating error on slot 3 a few days ago. There was not a knotted filament issue or any issue I could find. Took it apart quickly and made sure not broken filament or loose tube (I am use to taking it apart (I don't even put the damn screws back in it anymore). I did order a couple of front feeder assemblies and partial parts for it for stock. Then yesterday, for the first time ever, the hot-end self de-structed, took the engineering pad with it, the nozzle was imbedded in a plastic blob. I yi yi yi yi.

I suppose I can try it and find out, but if you already know. Will this work with a Bambu X1 Carbon which does not have the AMS? I am not afraid of adjusting code and assume that setting up profile to use slot one will work or if not fail in some informative way. john ferguson

Hi Ho - you changed the 2000, too? Look in the description of the video, they changed it years ago, after the video. Also your signal / SNR must be high enough. With a too small dish or badly aligned it is not possible to receive. vy73 Sandor - DM4DS

Can you use PLA to print the QR code?
@DM4DS
@DM4DS 6 ай бұрын
No, you should use a inkjet or laser printer, print it on paper, cut it and glue it onto the PEI/PEO.... It is so small and fiddely, that you can not print the details in PLA...also it would be maybe too high so the head would bump into it during trying to read it. All the best Sandor - DM4DS

The Nagoya NA771 and also the diamond are probably fake antenna from china. There are a lot of these fakes around on ebay or aliexpress etc. They look similar but often the bottom part is a little different. The real ones have a slightly different printing directly at the bottom part. About the RH660S: how do you know the correct length for the band you use? SWR would change depending on the length of the telescopic antenna? Or do you measure it exactly each time you use it?

Hello Sandor, Thank you for your videos. I recently overheard an argument about the UV-K5 radio being very bad with interferencing on channels. Just like the Baofengs are hated in europe, this UV-K5 received the same hate. Are they a catergory above the Baofengs, like Wouxun radios? Thanks.

Hi, great video, What version of Simplify3D are you using? Can the profile also be used for P1S? Have you added to Simplify 3d start G-Code and End G-code or even others? I have ordered and am waiting for the P1S to arrive but I am looking for an alternative to Bambustudio that is not derived from Prusaslicer-Sperslicer because I have always used S3D, I have also tried other slicers but I have always returned to S3D both for my old Anet A8 and for the Geeetech A20T 3in 1out, I find that managing multicolor with one process or more per color gives me the possibility to manage the printer better. i hope to god you used a dummy load while transmitting on the air band , good god you should have kept your trap shut as if the wrong people get there hands on converted radios will be keying over air craft . Remember there are sick people who will do it just for fun ...................................................................................,most of the extra harmonics wouldn't radiate as losses on cables or loading coils on the set want let them radiate any distance . . These people with there analytic gear are are connected direct . so you will see the harmonics even though they use an rf attenuater . The field test is on air and to a harmonic analyser away from the hand held to see the real output ,As in some cases it wouldn't bother anything . good god the crap we suffer from switch mode power units and the crap from modems and modern day crap that . if your on 27 mhz , who do you think it will bother on 54mhz i ask , There's nothing their , nobody wants to use frequencies so low today , gas board water board electricity board taxis fire services even tv transmissions have gone . so who do you think it will hurt , In all my years of being a ham also have never heard a harmonic from 27mhz on 54 mhz ,even though alot of locals used power amplifier with hundreds of watts ., not one scarab of a second harmonic have i ever heard ..And for harmonics from hand held , They aint going to travel . if you have a loading coil on a whip antenna stuck on top of the quansheng ...........you want be heard that far away , As with a none ressinant antenna it will not go more that a few meters if your lucky ., They are only trying to look clever because they bought a box to test with , it's a farce from day gone by were us haves had to have a wave meter and test our transmissions from time to time just to keep radio authorities have if they checked our logs lol ...........................................

6:33 About the markers on the turntable´s surface: Their influence is very important. If you have more of them on the sides of the object, it even a lot better. But then, you´d have a cylinder with markers on its inner surface, and you couldn´t shot fotos of the object anymore. That´s why, you need a cylinder made out of 3 segments, each segment having a very precise position on the turntable´s edge... And as the turntable turns, you can always take that one (out of those 3) segment, that obstructs you foto-shooting... But the turntable´s edge, as well as the cylinder-segments, have to have notches, so that you always place each segment at the exact same position, always perpendicular to the TuTa-surface (it doesn´t have to be perpendicular, but it has to be at the same angle it has benn at the previous turn of the TuTa, cause you make several turns, and the segments have to have the same position by every turn, refering to position and angle). With 3D-printing available, it´s an easy task... The problem you describe at 10:35 is why the positions and angles of those cylinder-segments have always to be the same.

I just run the small spool until it runs out, and the machine pauses and tells you to load another spool. Then hit "continue". Or just load the small spool into your AMS and it will automatically continue with another spool without your intervention

hi, i got this radio and the new uv 5r plus. on both radios the sma connector of the radios are shorted. i did a continuity test with my multimeter and in both radios the sma pin and the sma part where you screw the antenna are shorted which means there is no ground on the sma connector so whether you use a ground or not it doeasnt matter or maybe makes things worse. on every other radio i have the sma connector is as it is supposed to be. also on the back of the radio on the baterry pins, which are on the back top the negative is connected to both the sma pin and the part where you screw the antenna. but the ground which is the middle baterry pin is not connected anywhere. can you check your radio if it is shorted ? or mabe this is how they come out from the factory ? thanks

I really like the cutting approach you're using to remove the excess, but I don't like having to pull the entire remainder through the nozzle. It seems like you have to over-size the hole so filament slightly out of spec won't jam on it, but then you'd get oversized splice points that cause jams. I have a method I'm using now (with a recent video showing it) that avoids this.

To me this looks similar to the TOP USB connector on the TX 16s which is not used for charging. It is used to connect to the radio to your PC, i.e. EdgeCompanion. My USB is intermittent, so I'll have to figure out a way to replace it. Hopefully it would be as easy as changing this board.
@DM4DS
@DM4DS 11 ай бұрын
Hello @raptr49 . Yes, that was my fault. I thought that the TX16S (I have not owned when I did the video) has the same PCB while so many other things are the same. Now it is in the video and can not be changed, but as a TX16S owner, you know that it is not charged via that connector, so it should not hurt somebody. Thanks for your comment . What is the problem on your radio? Maybe I can figure it out for you. Greetings Sandor - DM4DS

There was no info provided on the test setup, and since the whip on an HT is only half of the antenna system, (the other half consisting of the inductance and capacitance of the body of the HT and the person holding it, (in other words the test setup,) I don't see the results you obtained as being that accurate or meaningful. I'd probably have someone stand in a large open area with an HT and transmit a few second carrier on each specified band, (so as not to affect battery capacity,) with each antenna as you monitored the signal strength at a distance using a sensitive signal strength meter. The received signal strength will be a function of the antenna's impedance match to the HT as well as its gain relative to all of the other antennas. That would be a real-world, meaningful, apples to apples antenna comparison test, at least for that particular HT and person.

Thanks for your comment. I'm testing with an old radio but instead the electronics, the analyzer is connected, antenna mounted and holding it like you would hold it during a QSO, everything else makes no sense like maybe GND free measuring laying on the table or whatever. This is SWR measurement, this is no free field signal strength measurement, should be clear and I never claimed. If you do such great tests, you say, it would be nice to see your videos. I'm sure the community would enjoy them. Vy73 Sandor DM4DS

I'm surprised this works. The software's often get confused because of the changing angles the light hits the object. I learned a long time ago you should not move the object, but instead move the camera around the thing you're trying to "scan". Alternatively build a rig that moves all the light-sources with the part.
