Assalam o alaikum WRB. I'm from India. Respecting the elderly or your teacher by touching the feet is very common. If not done, its considered disrespectful. Its not veneration. Just a sign of showing respect. May Allah guide us. Aameen
@cerberus8856 Жыл бұрын
But it's better to avoid. our elders might not know about the problem with bowing, we'll have to inform them. Unless it is accidental, bowing before anyone/anything other than Allah is haram as sheikh said. We better stick to this verdict. It's better to be safe from the wrath of Allah than the pleasure our elders. Respect can be shown in so many ways.

They don’t understand our culture or I can say behaviour Now I know

AlhamdulilLah. Ya sheikh, please, what about the practice of kneeling down as a sign of respect to greet someone? This is done by some locals in Nigeria where females, especially, greet their elders on their knees. As salaamun alaykum warahmatullah wabarakatu.
@alghori2 жыл бұрын
So if the intention is to kiss the forehead and in the process on had to lower the head (which is a type of bowing down), what if the intention is only to touch the feet alone and not to bow down (obviously one has to lower the head and spine to touch the foot of the other)??

Why people do not pronounce the Salawat properly. It is not saleih sallam it's sallallahu wa alihi wasallam. When people say this in a hurry it sounds like saleih sallam. Why? whats the hurry?

Dr Yasir Qadhi, the hadith about Muadh Ibn Jabal doing sajdah to the prophet (peace be upon him) is not authentic. You may have read the biography of Muadh so it's evident that Muadh never went to Shaam when the prophet was alive in the first place. The prophet had sent him to Yemen, and when he returned from Yemen the prophet had passed away so there was no question of him having any conversation with the prophet let alone sajdah. He later went to Shaam after the prophet's death and never returned as a result of the pandemic. Moreover, Muadh Ibn Jabal was a scholar, he knew fiqh. Do you think he would prostrate to the prophet just because the Christians did so without asking the prophet's permission? Furthermore, that hadith mentions that the prophet told him that if sajdah to anyone else was permissible he would have instructed the women to prostrate to their husbands. But is the right of husband over his wife higher in degree than that of parents over their children? Are parents or husbands higher in degree than the prophets of Allah? If it could be anyone after Allah it would have been the prophets (peace be upon them).

Interesting point. Have you got any reference to show that it's not authentic? Something easily accessible to read ?

Brother he has degree in science of Hadith and maser if aqeeda and PHD in theology don’t forget about that
@adildoloo46192 жыл бұрын
@@luqmanalmas2166 moreover, he's a human being. Furthermore, the one who does not concur with this hadith (based on logic and historical facts including other sahih hadeeth) is Dr Akram Nadwi, who also happens to be a human but with a higher degree in Arabic and hadeeth sciences. Imam shafi' said that if his opinion conflicts the Quran and Sunnah, it should be thrown at the wall. He never said we should consider his education background and experience. I've been a consistent viewer of Dr Qadhi's lectures for years, but it wouldn't mean I would concur with just about any opinion or ideology, I'm not a muqallid. That applies to Dr Nadwi too. In this case I vote for Dr Nadwi because the hadith conflicts historical facts and logic.

It seems ironic that you state such a practice is, "a stepping stone to shirk", while you did not accord such principle of "blocking the means" to the issue of asking the dead you addressed previously. Maybe this explains why so many listeners were irate with the leniency you adopt in that issue.
