Nice review. I just ordered a Carbon Rival (steel receiver) in .300 Win Mag... one of my life goals is to harvest a bull elk once I am out of the Navy, and this rifle will help me get there.

@Bullets4Bucks I was that close to buy Howa Carbon elevate with sub MOA guarantee. Watched your other video on Howa MDX chassis 800+ yards but now confused on CT Rival vs Howa Carbon elevate. CT Rival gives half MOA guarantee at 100 yards and Howa Carbon elevate gives sub MOA guarantee. How do these compare practically. Same ? or Fierce CT Rival is better. Looking for 6.5 PRC for hunting and entry level LR PRS. Would appreciate your input based on your experience. Thanks

@TK, I bought a 6.5 PRC CT Rival 22" in Aug 2021. Simply put... it's amazing. Its not the most expensive bolt action I have but it is the most consistent at 200yds 5-shot groups with no brake . The action is epoxied in the stock with aluminum pillars. I havent shot the Howa but at first glance, the CT Rival's LRS stock is textured (thick sponge-paint) nicely where the Howa's hunter stock is smooth (texture is better). The CT Rival's included picatinny rail and QD cups are items every mfg needs to make standard. FWIW, I had to send it back for warranty work and Fierce sent the original receiver back with all new parts attached. New stock, Triggertech trigger, bottom metal, bolt, barrel, and muzzle brake. The gunsmith (Sam) completed a warranty form with everything he replaced, re-cerakoted and hand-fit including hand-lapping the new barrel. He also sent a new target with 3 shots at .381" using Hornady ELD-X 143gr. So, am I happy with the rifle and Fierce's customer service? Yes! This summer I'll probably buy another CT Rival in 6CM or 6.5CM for my daughter.

I’m absolutely shocked with that expensive of a rifle they don’t at least put a dab of epoxy in the recoil lug cutout in the stock. Literally would take no time.

In a carbon fiber stock I’m trying to understand how epoxy would “bed” the receiver? My understanding is the carbon fiber composite would be stronger.
@Bullets4Bucks
@Bullets4Bucks Жыл бұрын
It's not necessarily just about the strength of the foundation it's also about the glove like fit. Glass bedding it means that you get a perfect glove like fit and better contact again the reciever.

I’m confused. How do they provide a target with a 3-shot group under .5 moa and you got a 1.5 moa with the same load? I was told by Hornady that those 225 gr ELD Match bullets require a 1:8 twist rate 🧐 I have a Fierce Carbon Rogue producing 1.5 moa groups at 100 yards with those bullets 🤮 I’m going to try the 212’s ELD Precision hunters to see if it likes those better, or I’ll send it back for failing their .75 MOA

@@jamessammann9183 FYI, I sent mine twice to Fierce and they never made it shoot consistently. I paid Short Action Customs to find out what the issue was and fix it. They skim bedded the action and it shoots great now. If you buy a Fierce, take it apart and make sure their spot bedding in the recoil lug area is good and if not, send it back and make them bed it correctly before you waste your money and time trying to get it to shoot with any consistency.

Fierce BLOWS! I had an absolute nightmare from them. They claim to be a custom gun builder. I pieced together a $5k CT Edge which they missed the completion date by 6 months. The barrel wasn’t free floating, the gun was not in the correct color pattern which was suppose to be midnight with OD Green added (the only custom part about the gun the color of the stock they couldn’t do) the brake was not level and I did not get a shot confirmation card which is standard with the edge. I had to send the firearm back. They still couldn’t do the color I wanted I had to pick a factory standard color and this time they sent the gun back without parts that I ordered and paid for. Does this sound like a $5k custom gun to you? These are not custom guns they are factory and you think my experience is unique? Look around the internet it’s littered with stories just like mine. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from fierce and spend your money on a legit firearm

Maybe the gun is a tac driver. I don’t know I have yet to shoot the gun and I just received it. This is not a complaint about whether the gun performs. Customer service though? Is some of the worst I wouldn’t expect this many issues with a $1500 gun much less what I spent. I wanted to love fierce I really did. I spent a lot of time researching and decided to build a gun through them. Two missed hunts later as the gun was not complete in time for a spring bear hunt I ordered the gun for and then my elk hunt that next fall which it still was not complete and this many issues? Now missing equipment I paid for that was on the rifle I sent back to be corrected and not on the rifle I received I am just over it. Spend some time on any of the hunting or shooting forums and you will see countless posts of people with similar issues and terrible customer service. Customer service is just as important as the product. In my opinion spend the money somewhere else where they care about customer service and not just taking purchase orders
