My cat practically saved my life. I’ve always had terrible anxiety and depression and contemplated suicide a lot growing up. The biggest reason why I didn’t was because I loved my cat so much and could never leave him. We were so close and he gave me such comfort (especially when I’d hold him and he’d nuzzle my face and purr). I think a dog would’ve made my anxiety worse.
