Yusuf Chambers: Dr. Zakir, in difference to what you said there are some people who delay the breaking of the fast and the Magrib prayer on the premise that they don’t believe the sun is completely set and on the basis that they believe its always better to be on the safer side, is this the correct logic?
Dr. Zakir: There are a large number of Muslims who, they want to be safe and they delay their breaking of the fast, even though the sun has set they say that lets wait for about 3 or 4 minutes you know then we’ll break because they want to be careful because there is a Hadith of our beloved Prophet Muhammad, (Sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) , its mentioned in
Sahih Al Targheeb (Vol no. 1 Book of Fasting) Hadith no. 991 where the Prophet, he speaks about his dream that
“He had a dream and he is taken up and there he hears the sound of people howling and he asks that who are these people. These are the people in hell fire then he is taken to another corner and he sees that people are hung from the hamstring and the corner of their mouths are torn and there is blood dripping so he asks that who are these people? So the reply is these are the people who broke their fast early.”
So based on this Hadith that if a person breaks the fast early he will be hung from the hamstring and his mouth will be torn and there will be dripping of blood. People go out of their way to take a precaution and they delay by 4 or 5 minutes. Now this is against the Sunnah. Breaking early is wrong but delaying it is also wrong. Because as I mentioned earlier its clrearly mentioned in the Quran in
Surah Baqarah ch. no. 2 verse no. 187 that
“Keep the fast until night falls”
And as I mentioned earlier in my earlier answer it’s mentioned in
Sahih Bukhari Vol. no. 3 in the Book of Fasting Hadith no. 1954 where the beloved Prophet Muhammad, (Sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) said that
“When nightfalls from this side and the day vanish from this side and when the sun sets, you break your fast.”
And there are various other Hadith which I quoted earlier including
Sahih Bukhari Vol. no. 3 in the Book of Fasting Hadith no. 1957, our beloved Prophet said that
“My people will be on the straight path till they time they hasten in breaking the fast”
Its also mentioned in Sahih Ibn Hibbaan Vol. no. 8 Hadith no. 3510 that the beloved Prophet Muhammad, (Sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) , said that
“My people will be on the Sunnah till the time they don’t wait to see the stars to break the fast”
And its also mentioned in Sahih Ibn Hibbaan Vol no. 8 (Book of Fasting) Hadith no. 3509 that our beloved Prophet Muhammad, (Sallallahu alaihe wa sallam) , said that
“My religion will be seen till the time my people hasten in breaking the fast and not do like the Ahle Kitaab, the Jews and Christians”
So here there are various Ahadith talking about you should hasten in breaking the fast. But natural it should be after the sun has set. We cannot break the fast before the sun sets. But the moment it’s confirmed that the sun has set with your own eyes or nowadays there are watches that you can easily time yourself. So there is not need for waiting for 5 minutes and taking a precaution. If you do that that’s what the Prophet said that my Ummah will be on the straight path. So to be on the Sunnah, on the right track, the moment the sun sets you should break the fast immediately.

@Heywood Yabloome I follow the fast growing, only true and purely monotheistic religion called “The Religion Of The Real God” where my holy scripture is called “The Infallible Kiran” and my Gods name is “The Real God”. My scripture The Infallible Kiran was revealed to humankind through the real last and final prophet of The Real God! This is the prophet of my religion, Prophet Gavin! FYI “Kiran” mean ray of light. The Real God used the word Kiran as The Infallible Kiran is the true divine guiding light of The Real God! A gift to all humankind. No other religion even come close! This scripture contains the uncorrupted infallible divine word of The Real God. It is truly one divine scripture like no other in existence. The Real God sent this all powerful, all authoritative new scripture to rule over and bind all the religious books from the past uniting humankind under its new covenant! The Infallible Kiran is an infallible scripture above all others! The wisdom within is truly sinless and divine! Just read it and you will see! The Real God says that, in previous man made scriptures, like the Bible and Quran, it’s eternally loving, eternally merciful nature for all living things was corrupted by man. The Real God said its going to badly punish sinners in the life-after but there is no such thing as eternal hellfire or any kind of eternal punishments and it wouldn’t condone such a thing as that’s childish and would show a lack of competence to teach and lack of mercy to its children! Eternal punishments and eternal hell are man made fiction and The Real God doesn’t like people associating it with such horrors from corrupted scriptures. This kind of treatment would only show that The Real God has a lack of compassion, understanding and mercy for its creation which goes against its eternally loving, eternally merciful nature for all its children. Prophet Gavin says to associate The Real God with merciless eternal punishments is pure blasphemy. Also bowing or praying towards any object is idol worshipping according to The Real Gods religion which is the only truly monotheistic one. The Real God is very very strict and punishes all sin but never eternally as that’s immoral! Would a good parent punish a child eternally for a mistake it made?? Now apply the same principles to your god. If your god punishes eternally with hellfire or otherwise it is clearly a man made sadistic imposter of a god and more in the class of an undisciplined parent! Eternal punishments are the fastest way to spot a false man made god who doesn’t sincerely love you!! Prophet Gavin said that if a god talks of satanic brutal inhumane punishments and eternal hellfire, its a devil posing as a god and has tricked you!!! He says if that’s your god, you are definitely indoctrinated and suffering from truthaphobia! The Infallible Kiran is the divine guiding light for all humankind and Prophet Gavin said it’s so powerful it will snap people out of being indoctrinated by the devil as it comes direct from The Real God and you will feel that in your heart! The Infallible Kiran contains guidance on gender/race equality, civilised behaviour, historical revelations, future prophecies, why we die?, what happens in the life after? and much much more that The Real God has revealed for the betterment of all living things and to unify humankind. Ghurub is the word for sunset in the Quran 18:86 and layal is used for night as in surah 2:187 concerning fasting. Break fast when there is more darkness then the light not at sunset.

That’s so conflicting/ if any hadeeth defies Quran then it’s wrong/ واتموا الصيام الى الليل/ وسبح بحمد ربك قبل غروب الشمس/ ومن الليل فسبحه/39. Therefore, bear with patience [against] all that they say and glorify the praises of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before [its] setting. 40. And during a part of the night [also] glorify His praises and [do likewise] after the prostrations [of prayers]. then complete the fast till nightfall

quran says do fast in the night and open it untill night falls so we must open our fast when night is confirmed so we should wait untill it is dark

Quran mentions the word nightfall and it is when the sun disappears from the sky. The prophet saw used to break his fast when the sun had disappeared but there was still light

Jesus is not god, Jesus is a prophet of god peace be upon him! I'm sorry brother but your information about Jesus being god is wrong. There is no where in the bible that it says that Jesus says worship me or I am god.

Also, the new bible testament is not the words of god but more like the words of the humans. The old testament has lots of the words of god, and some of the human words, so the bible either ways is corrupted, the new testament is way more corrupted because Jesus Christ peace be upon him never wrote it. You guys follow the book of the made-up religion and disobey the old one. Read the old testament not the new one, it will make more sense. We muslims are more christians than the christains themselvees
