housing cost housing cost. that's all that matters. Can you afford to buy a house or not. You will never be able to "Job your way" out of a $1.5-$2m homes, in big cities. There is no job that will pay enough for the repayment (Unless you're a CEO of a mid level company). Even becoming engineers, we're paid very low in australia. $180k aud is only about $120k USD. in The US at least white collar salary is very high, especially in Tech, engineering, finance, medicine, to offset the expenses.

Great content Karl! Migration agents should be definitely aware of the Australian as well as world politics to guide people genuinely and rationally. That being said, those who want to migrate to Australia or anywhere in the world should really consider and see the big picture. It is not only relocating from the point A to B. As you mention, nowadays, so many factors are to be taken into consideration and it is getting harder. Having a plan B is always good under these circumstances. I wish all of us luck and thank you for your wonderful videos!

Coming from Italy, if you live in Melb, and you and your partner, together, get 10k/month, without travelling or a car or kids, renting, you can put away the equivalent of €1200/month (which is an entire one person salary in Italy). Yes it doesn't sound like much BUT, in Italy there are no jobs available, and often, conditions are terrible. So, if you got the chance, immigrating into a country like: Australia, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, might make your life better. Especially if done in your mid 20s. You spend there, like 10 years, and, in the meantime, find something you want to do in your own Country. Then you leave. That's the way I see it.

Hi Karl, man even at 80k a year people struggling. Goodness. Majority of people in Australia making under 60k. That is the median salary. "Having a career and life making money just for cents, probably you should think twice" - Karl 2023. There you go guys. That's the answer to the title.

One thing I want to highlight is that Australia has systematic racism. There is a data analysis from QILT Surveys, that shows based on your nationality you will be paid accordingly in Australia, such as being a Nepali national with same skills and qualification you will be earning 30% less than someone who is an European national. The way the economy, society and everything else is operating, you would be thinking, "what am I doing with my life?" and have a deep reflection on yourself.

Great content .. I have a question. I am offshore. My Bachelor of Science in Computer Science has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Associate Degree with a Major in Computing by ACS. I also completed Masters of Business Administration . In that case can I put Masters degree in my EOI.

Hi Carl. I am unsure of what occupation I should select on the ACS assessment. More than half of my experience (8 years) is more on Cloud migration and implementation, and it's not on the list. However, I do have technical support along with the cloud role and separate development roles. On my current company (2 years), I got testing and some dev works as well. Should I put ICT Support and Testing Engineer nec on my selected occupation or can I select Software Engineer (since this is more on demand)?

So this guy came to a conclusion that earning 80,000 annually will be zero in savings Thats almost true The only problem is there are tens of thousands even locals who earn far less than 80,000 One of my former colleagues being a two master degree in architecture worked for 50,000 annually and moved to Sydney for 55,000 just to boost career, and he is 30 years old Id say that in order to live a good life even in SA you need minimum 120,000 annually otherwise you are wasting the time but even with these 120,000 for granted it's impossible to take a good mortgage
