Good point! Price wise there was a slight fluctuation in between models. The 1190 when came out costed a LOT of money. I paid $24000 AUD which at the time were like $19000 USD I think. Then the 1290 SA 2018 model was slighly cheaper. Then this 1290 SAS went up in price again, touching the $21000 USD now. It's about the target market I believe, more than the costs of production. If BMW and Ducati mark their flagship bikes around $25000, so KTM.

@@PaoloCattaneo About a month ago I put $500 down on a new 23 KTM 890. last week the dealership still did not know the price of the new 23's.

Just paid $17k USD a few months ago for new 2022 SAS. Awesome bike. Also the new Ducati multi is $27k here. Even if the prices were the same. Would have still went KTM and I rode both before buying the KTM.

Ciao Andrea, si sono italiano, di Como, ma trapiantato all'estero da quasi metà della mia vita. Direi che una 1190 con 70K è ancora bella giovane. Tieni presente che a quell'età però bisogna cambiare i cortechi della pompa dell'acqua. Spesa irrisoria se si fa il lavoro da soli. Ho anche un video dove faccio vedere come si fa, nel mio canale. La procedura è tecnicamente non complessa ma ci vuole un po di cautela. Io l'ho fatto letteralmente in un garage di una casa dove ero ospitato, senza quasi nessun attrezzo specifico. Oltre a quello, non c'è da farci praticamente niente per altri 50-60k km. Potrebbero iniziare a perdere i cortechi delle forcelle ma anche quello potresti risolverlo con poco. Cmnq il problema è principalmente che i pezzi "in gomma" si consumano col tempo e l'usura. Per il resto la moto è indistruttibile.

I haven’t tested the bike in a long ride yet. But the engine is still the LC8 so pretty rad machine!

I rode over 250000km with ktm. Never a mechanical issue. Maybe i m just very very veeeeery lucky

There is nothing wrong with the KTM 1290 reliability. It is just as reliable as any other bike in its class but with crazy more fun to ride.

@@fransdav5573 Looking at all those Kato review, folks are happy with reaching 3k, 2k, some just 300 kms. One rider reported extreme joy that he was able to get to 15k mark. Gosh, that's not even a break-in mileage.

First of all, you are not that short mate! Haha the 1190 it s a hell of a bike but i think the lower seat setting will get you to 840mm and then maybe you can trim some more mm if you put the preload to minimum. Still I wouldn’t get a bike so big if you don’t feel confident in handling it. Have you considered the 890 adv instead? It s a much more manageable bike in many ways and equally fun to ride. Plus, much easier to ride in offroad. I would recommend you test ride it.

@@MadMax69. Oh mate, trust me on this one. The 890 is even easier to pop wheelies with! Lighter and more engine at low RPM. I'm loving it!
