I felt led to share these feelings with all of you and so here we are! Traditionally the videos I hesitate the most about sharing are the ones that end up being my most successful.

Spot on. I've been in and out of competitive bass fishing (from a boat) over the last 25 years. When it starts to consume me and makes fishing no longer fun, I stop. Then a few years later, I'd find myself doing it again. Rinse and repeat. I'm too competitive against myself. Currently I fun fish, but have considered doing the monthly challenges the past 2 years. They seem like a good balance. I hope you can keep a relaxed attitude toward it this year while you're out there. Tight lines.

Thanks for watching and leaving such a great reply. I’m actually packing for a tournament this weekend, as I have to travel and prefish tomorrow. I’ve only done two this year prior to this one, and I’m holding strong to the mindset that I’m just going fishing. So far so good. It’s gotta be about the fishing and time in nature or it’s all just ruined 👊

Great video ! I am not a ' Yak' fisherman, I do not fish Bass tournaments and I certainly don't have a glittery Bass Bass boat, I have a Lund 😂 and for skinny water ? A 12' Tracker Jon. You are right about what fishing is becoming. Not so friendly anymore due to all you mentioned among other things. Well done and let's ALL just get back to Fishin 🙏 Stay safe

A way to fix something like this is the format. Breakup the lakes into sections and draw for what section and rotate. Luck of the draw. Force people to fish different etc.

That is an interesting concept. Personally I would rather (compared to drawing for areas) fish where and how I want and if people want to cut me off or fish over me or whatever I'll back off and circle around. That is specific to me though because I do good work fishing behind people. The core of the problem is some people are just losing sight of the purpose of being out there.

I got into kayak tournaments because i couldn't afford to get back into a boat! The bigger tournaments are as close as it gets with elite series anglers competing in them! And don't be deceived by some of the top names! one starting with KF came in on a spot i was fishing at a tournament last year and straight up said they practiced on the spot, they didn't! I know they didn't! Just be truthful and honest! You can be competitive without being cutthroat! Some can't! I'm an adult so it doesn't really bother me!

If you don't like the competitive part, don't fish tournaments! The cutthroat part is just the way it is. Some are that way, boat or kayak! I've had people cut me off and act like they didn't even see me! I come from boat tournaments, so it didn't really shock me! Don't compete if the cutthroat bothers you! And yes, I have had one of the ones you follow,Do it to me! Stay in the small tournaments! There is nothing to protect in the bigger tournaments you have elite series anglers competing in them! That should tell you all you need to know!

It’s entirely possible to be competitive and enjoy the competition without being cut throat. I’ll be out here proving it. Tight lines!
