The Lemonade era was the last monumental era we witnessed. The elevator scandal, the discussion over who's "Becky", the "boycott Beyoncé" trend, the Superbowl performance, the day the visuals dropped + the album the world COLLAPSED. Yeah you just had to be there.

Interesting fact about Daddy Lessons is that her father also cheated on her mother, so the song kinda speaks of generational trauma and I think it also justifying how she found the empathy and the strength necessary to forgive her husband

It’s kinda crazy to think how she dropped BEYONCÉ, thinking how everybody were like “she’s not going to top this” then she dropped LEMONADE which means everyone’s like “well this IS it, she has reached her peak” and come 2022 and a pandemic later she was like “hi love a lil gift for you!” and dropped RENAISSANCE.. Beyoncé is many things, but you can NOT and WILL NOT discredit her artistry, talents, and crafts. She’s the last superstar, the last of its kind, literally an ALIEN superstar. You better gives her her flowers now when she’s here giving us her best after best after best.

ALL OF THIS. she just keeps going and going and going. there’s not one album i will not listen to in her catalog. (sasha is my least fav but has bops). im not a hive, but if anything, she is SO consistent at making MUSIC. albums, singles, and actual bodies of work. she IS music herself. i was lucky enough to see her live and she knows how to put on a show. she doesn’t “do too much” shes just far from mediocrity. (which unfortunately, the kids are craving “relatability” and mediocrity from subpar-mid artists these days) she puts on a PERFORMANCE. Bey is the LAST of the GREAT LEGENDS we have. y'all better go see that lady asap.

Bey is a different kind of breed! Her love for music, her moving at her own pase the beat of her own drum if you will has gotten her here. Add the fact that the woman has the work ethic of God knows what. Yeah let’s all just stop asking how she top herself. Because like she said in the Renaissance movie she ain’t got shit to prove anymore. She played the game was the best at it, broke the rules was the best at it. Now she living her best life and look at that she winning while doing it too. CRAZY 😂❤

I agree (kinda) I didn't think she could top Beyonce, I went into Lemonade thinking it couldn't happen, then it did. And while I absolutely love her for trying the club/EDM thing, as someone who's been an EDM fan for years, and a Beyonce fan for years, I really thought it would be a home run. It wasn't. It was weak for Beyonce's standards, and it was weak for an EDM album, so it was just stranded in a weird no-mans land of being a sort of EDM album that's top shelf specifically for non EDM fans, which hey, that's amazing I love that y'all get some of that flavor, but for what it was trying to achieve as an album it just didn't land. In the end, this is all just how I feel as a sort of niche between being a diehard Beyonce fan, but an avid EDM fan. I'm glad y'all love it.

@@ilililililililililililil8055 I don’t agree because renaissance was perfection. From the production, to the transitions, the homage, the different genres. And yes it most definitely did land. The eduction was perfect from the intro of I’m that girl to the end with summer renaissance
@ilililililililililililil8055
@ilililililililililililil8055 5 ай бұрын
@@alisonmoran4660 But that's the issue. You can say (which is perfectly valid for your taste) that production was perfect, but as an EDM album (which it marketed to, catered to, and acted as), it's so exceptionally generic. It is refined, credit is due there, but there's nothing experimental about it, it sounds akin to the dance music we'd got from artists in the mid 2000s, it's just slightly more polished. If it's an homage to that era of music, it nailed it. But EDM has long moved past that sound and style. So on the audio side, yes it's a pristine album, but as a concept and execution, it's far from perfect.

The way she went through the stages of grief and heartache with each song: discovering the truth, denial, anger, sadness, apathy, until finally reaching compromise, acceptance, liberation, and happiness once again _AND THEN_ then beautifully intertwines those emotions with their respective genres: Reggae, Hard Rock, R&B, Country, Power and Love ballads. I've always loved beyonce but when this album came out I was studying classical music and wasn't paying attention to what was going on in the musical world. During the pandemic I came across Sorry and Don't hurt yourself... my father had cheated on and left my mother a couple of years before, after 30 years of marriage. My world had completely changed since and those songs struck very delicate chords. This album was such an emotional, cathartic experience. By singing these songs, I managed to pour out a lot of my anger and pain. Lemonade is THE album! And Beyonce, I'll be forever grateful for this music, these powerful words and emotions! @@nithinjonnalagadda3470 firstly brought Black Feminism to the forefront and made people aware of the difference between it and normal feminism bc Black women (and other brown women who are of darker complexions) face harder challenges than any group in the world especially USA therefore have deeper issues that need to be solved with their fellow sisters by their side. Secondly breaking generational curses for women, people saw it as weak to stay after being cheated on but it happens to Black women too often, and yes leaving is powerful but what Beyoncé has done here is open doors for women to stay and build something healthy, teach Black men how to properly love and not stay in the mess but use it as a lesson to move forward, bc some women stay but the situation doesn’t change, she’s taken control of the narrative, she no longer is pining after him but they are working together to make their relationship work. It’s been a huge issue bc trust is never built up again and then your children see you go through this so they think it’s okay for them to also go through heartache but this teaches them to hold themselves and others accountable for their actions, to follow up apologies with change, and to hold space for others when they are actually changing but not take bull when they aren’t. Jay has grown more in the last 7 years than we’ve seen him in his entire career, he’s no longer just a big name in rap, he’s a person trying his best to be his best

Yo when you pulled out that tambourine and your gitar! I LOST ITTT! I loved you being in the music you feeling like you were in a circle jamming, that was the origin of black people INVENTUNG country! I can’t even explain what this album did for me and I just love seeing other people enjoying it just as much! I really recommend watching the entire movie (it’s on tidal) just for you to grasp the entire vision of this project. Not even to react to but just see the grandure of this album and Beyoncé. You were right on the money when you got the story she was telling but the visuals will tell another story in it’s entirety. Because I was so immersed I listened to the dissect podcast on Spotify to dig even deeper and it made me love the album EVEN MORE! This not winning album of the year is what made me not value the Grammy’s any longer. That’s how impactful/perfect this record was. Love your reactions! ❤

Had she kept that "Don't hurt yourself"/"Formation" energy, she would unmonetize it _AND_ post on KZfaq so the wind could carry the manifesto's flyers all around the world, in a romantically revolting way -- but she does want to earn adsense income from this work, which is normal to want, she just doesn't want to do it with YT, which in turn is just mean from her side to do 😭

Same goes for the RENAISSANCE visuals that we have concrete proof of existing, she released a teaser and even included parts of them on the tour, but she reportedly just scrapped them. Not to mention the Formation Tour DVD that also has concrete proof of existing and she just never will. The Renaissance movie is absolutely incredible, but the music videos looked like they had some insane outfits too. The craziest thing about this is that during the Renaissance Tour she used never before seen footage of the scrapped Kitty Kat video, meaning she keeps some of this stuff locked up for two DECADES and decides to use them out of nowhere for no apparent reason!
