Thank you! The inspiration I had when making this video was a conversation I had with my wife. She was asking questions about how Faceit works and matchmaking in general. My knee jerk reaction was to use a pick up game of basketball as a response. Turns out to also be great content! Thanks for watching bro.

I feel like a heavily overlooked core part of solo queing is utility, knowing how to execute/defend a site with proper utility can save any game. A lot of the time when I play nobody if not just 1 player knows smoke lineups for sites. Utility can stop 5 man b rushes if used properly which a ton of people overlook and only focus on aiming. (also knowing counter utility is super important as well).
@Ryderdie1
@Ryderdie1 2 ай бұрын
People will often overlook the importance of utility. Some players will often underestimate just how much skill goes into using it effectively. This is something my coach and I are already working on. Video to come on that soon.

Great content man, you have huge potential to grow big, keep doing what you are. Ryder I don't know if you play this but did you ever try/play aimrush workshop its a 1vx (2,3,4,5) bots in hardest difficulty it sounds easy but it is actually quite difficult. As mainly an awper i agree the impact can be huge, you can lock a site down (eg. Anubis A), get opening picks and just a great weapon however if you die with it it's gg for you economy.

Big risk vs reward weapon but like you said it’s great for holding a site, opening picks, etc. But referring to your question no I haven’t. I just do AimBotz, recoil train, and DM. I’ll have to take a look at it.

I am on the journey myself! Did not touch FPS games in 20+ years, came back to CS on CS2 release and now at lvl 6 faceit. Got one match away 7 once but I will climb! The funny thing is since I have watched a lot of CS and know how higher level people play, I do better on higher level games. The games where enemy team is clueless but has some aim are the worst to me, impossible to predict anything and I can get clapped.

I also think its important to highlight that skills won't directly transfer from practice into game one-to-one, that is where I think demo reviews are super important once you start implementing techniques in actual games. You can know theoretically the best way to peek an angle, or the best reaction to certain scenarios from say watching team cs related content or getting some coaching, but all of that is pretty meaningless if you are too slow to actually make the decision in the game. That is one thing you will see sets aside pros from most of us mere mortals in game, not only are their mechanics insanely good and refined over thousands of hours but they have sat through countless demos etc to the point that they can make split second decisions decisively and end up playing the highest percentage play almost every time. You need that volume of games played (and hence experience) to be able to react in the right way more often than not. Just make sure you are not judging your plays by individual outcomes if you take this advice to heart, you can be the best player in the world and play everything correctly but still lose sometimes.
@Ryderdie1
@Ryderdie1 2 ай бұрын
Well put, couldn't agree more. I didn't mention demo reviewing in this video but I mention it quite a bit in the other videos I've made. Absolutely a crucial part of why I improved so fast.

I got up from 4 to level 9 (within like 2 wins from 10) by duo queuing with a buddy, then just went on a horrible lost streak and got bumped down 7. Gave up for like half a year, and before CS2 was announced I grinded solo up to lvl 10. Definitely gets better as you get higher up since you're more likely to get teammates that actually know what you're doing. If you can queue with friends to get up out of the first few ranks, that'll make it a lot smoother. Soloing at 10 isn't too big of a deal as long as you know what you're doing and you have friendly teammates :) ...that does remind me of the time when I was about to get 10 and this 4 queue decided to grief, and then kicked me, and I got a timeout for that. That shit was fucking stupid. Faceit did nothing when opening up a support request. That's prob why I stopped playing it for a while lol

i soloq most of my time and got to lvl 10, but i was always getting tips and knowledge from friends and my brother , all of his friends are 10s aswell so that helped a lot, so try to surround yourself with players better than you, ive move from group to group trying to get better, my first group that i sometimes queue where all like lvls 5-6 and i was 2 at the time, but as i improved i found another group and so the cycle repeats, my point is to start from the bottom and climb your way up, it sounds kinda weird, but i still have contact with a lot of my earlier groups despite the level gap or whatever,

That was a nice video. I will say this tho, level 10 doesn't take you 100's of games to get there, at least not always and not for everybody. You can solo queue 24/7 and still get faceit 10 in under 100 games, it all really comes down to how well your team plays so it will be kinda luck based, especially if you try to get it in under 100 games lol. You can drop 40 + every game and still lose cause of your teammates performance was so bad.
@Ryderdie1
@Ryderdie1 2 ай бұрын
I do agree that it can in fact take less than 100 games. I should have been more specific to what I was referring to. For a “beginner” or someone who’s skill level isn’t at 2000 Elo, it will take hundreds of games to get there as far as skill is concerned. Thanks for the love bro, and thanks for watching the video.

I think people severly underestimate sample size needed for your skill to reflect in your actual lvl on faceit when you solo queue. There's a huge variance in cs, I mean think about it, you're only 0.2 of your team
@Ryderdie1
@Ryderdie1 2 ай бұрын
That’s an excellent point. Any team based game that has adopted an Elo system matchmaking will have variance. I think that’s what is so discouraging for most people. They get a few of those loses that are essentially out of their control and end their journey there.
@Fyr35555
@Fyr35555 2 ай бұрын
And even you as that 20% of the team will have significant variance in the way you perform as well, which will be magnified if you don't have consistent warmup routines / get enough sleep / eat well etc.

Yes it’s possible to solo queue to level 10. I have done it, but if that’s the route that you take then you’re going to have to IGL and know every piece of utility on every map. At least that’s what I did. You have to make sure you can play every position to fill in the gaps that are needed. At the end of the day it pays off knowing you’re a more well rounded player than 99.5% of the community.

LOL, no, CS is worse than any basketball court. If your local basketball court has "players" that scream and hit each other instead of playing the game, you're living in a s**thole and you should probably move out. The worst thing about faceit is that you're expected to be stoic about your Russian premades as well as being "Okay" with them falseflagging you so you cannot play any more games for more than a month.
