The intensity of the rivalry has more to do with the quality of the games. Klopp's gegenpress is the perfect kryptonite to Pep's obsession with control and posession.

😂UTD and Ars teams were full of WC players. The quality of the matches and pure grit can never be matched. Liv and City players along with the managers are busy hugging in tunnels. That's hardly a rival it's just two top teams with respect for how good each other are.

You have to give it to the both of them: Klopp & Pep-they have succeeded in re-imagining attacking football. While Pep's possession-driven, Klopp's "organized chaos"-dissimilar in style yet almost identical in outcome; goals and more goals. They have made each other better somewhat akin to Messi-Ronaldo rivalry. So to answer the question of whether this is football's fiercest rivalry, of course it is. 2 geniuses going at each other! Right now I can't see any other pair of managers who bring this level of acumen, energy and brilliance to the sport as the both of them. I cannot wait for Sunday. P.S= LFC have got to win.

Coming from a Man United fan I will say this: Most Liverpool fans will say Man United and Liverpool will always be the most intense rivalry in the premier league more than city vs Liverpool because there's so much rich history to the Man United and Liverpool rivalry, plus these two teams been going back and forth for years. City's rivalry with Liverpool started in 2018, but man united and liverpool rivalry will always be number 1, plus it's the most well known football rivalry in England.

100% and do you know what I hate United as you do with Liverpool but I have a lot more respect for United than City because United and Liverpool have built their respective clubs over blood sweat and tears and having built up fans having desire passion determination and heart. We both built our massive clubs the right way. City as we know are clowns. CheatChester City FC or Acrylic FC they are.

I've supported Liverpool for over 50 years and you're spot on.Liverpool v Utd will always be the biggest rivalry it's the first team i look for in the fixture list.I hate Man Utd but i respect them City are the new Chelsea they bought their success.

From a performance standpoint this challange is just top notch, these both pushed each other to achieve quite impossible things. But from a pure rivalry standpoint, it doesn't come close to Utd Arsenal. From the managers to the captain to the players to fans there was just pure hatred. The emotions are on are on different planet all together. I think part of why it's changes is because of the way football is played and how the sport has evolved. Pool City is still crazy rivalry. 20years later we'll all be like that was nuts.

I one word, no. Its been the best rivalry in the last 5-10 years yes, but nothing can match the intensity of Utd vs Arsenal from 98 - 04 - 4 titles for Utd, 3 for Arsenal and the intensity of the games were ridiculous. The quality may not be on par with Liv vs Man C but it was on another level rivalry.

Karius was nowhere near world class. A decent shot stopper, but that's the least you can expect from a keeper at that level. Guy was so error prone and couldn't control his defence.
