Never had issues with my netgear orbi mesh system. It runs 2 Xbox systems and a gaming pc and latency is pretty much the same as a wired connection bar a few milliseconds

Seriously? Because I’m highly thinking about this option. I’m a single man in a 1 bedroom apartment. I only want it for my computer, tv and Xbox. You would recommend this?

need advice, my wifi router is located in my living room and i am trying to boost the wifi up to my bedroom upstairs pretty much on the opposite side of my house, my house isn’t particularly big it’s quite normal in it’s size but i’ve tried cheap bt boosters, and i’m now using a tp link re650 booster and it is giving me speeds of 12 mbps normally but can drop down to around 5 later in the day, this is too poor for gaming and i am wondering whether a mesh system would actually make any difference to my current performance or not, and if i will ever be able to fix this wifi problem, any suggestions ?

Rather than try mesh Wi-Fi have you thought about giving powerline adapters a go? Some people have seen good success with using them for gaming instead of having to rely on Wi-Fi. I have a couple of videos about them including a review of the adapters that I personally use that you might want to check out. Just keep in mind that the quality of the electrical wiring is a big influencing factor in how well powerline networking will work.

How would it work if I bought the eero wifi router 3 pack and hard wired my Xbox into the one by it? Would it be truly hard wired or somewhat hard wired with a wireless router? Would it work well or be choppy?

There’s no escaping a wired connection for the best experience, period. A large home benefits from a mesh network, but buy a switch, set it up by the modem and run that cable if you want the best gameplay experience.

Me either I never had a problem with my mesh system where gaming is concern . I disagree strongly ! This is certainly not correct mesh keeps the connection stable . Zero problems gaming

It works for you and not necessarily work for others I heard that some people have problems using mesh routers like interruptions or dropouts

I have this same question, although checking their settings with their IP on a browser shows the Ethernet Links as "false" :(

Using Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi is generally better regardless of which router you have. I am using the router supplied by my ISP over Ethernet and it has been absolutely fine.

Sorry didn't see you replied until now. Ethernet is excellent for range; a single run of cable can be 100m long before you start running into issues.

I can plug my gaming device right into a node, Works great, can set up custom DNS settings and can prioritize my gaming devices all through an app. A ton easier than loging into my router settings with those so called "gaming routers". My ping is always low at 11-12 consistently. This guy never used mesh in his life.

@@edgeofsins they just came out with a WiFi 6 version of their routers. Much more expensive. But have more ethernet ports and a USB port for more storage And they do the job 4x better then the ones I got. Overall a perfect product for gamers if you wanna game anywhere in the home without running a cable all through your home.

I just installed a 3 tp link deco wifi mesh and now I can't play online games. I'm trying to play in my phone something like brawl stars or pubg and I can't find the parties. Its like I have a connection problem but the wifi is great and I don't need a fast wifi to play brawl stars. I think that I need to change something jn the tplink app setup but I can't fin any information about that anywhere. Can you maybe help me? Plz

Quantum Fiber (USA ISP) 360 wifi mesh pod system is horrible for gaming, i have insaine ping spikes usually every 30-60 seconds going from 66ms all the way up to 800ms spikes, and its infuriating. Ill be saving for a good wifi 6e router to replace the mesh system given to me by my isp, since i dont want to start another house project of running ethernet drops to every room.

A question about ping I like to play esports games, every time another person on my WiFi starts watching Netflix, my ping skyrockets. Any fixes? I’m willing to pay. Would mesh WiFi help?

Nope, I have an eero system that is really new and tuned in settings along with my 250 mbps plan. If you NEED to have mesh and cant do any wired, I suggest u have the main gateway out in the open such as a living/dining room, and your beacon about 5-10 feet away. Like seriously, paying a premium for a mesh system and it cant even handle Roblox?

A gaming router is always better because of QOS in settings most mesh do not have very extensive settings to tweak…other wise mesh isn’t as bad as the review
