Hey Layne, do you have any detailed videos on digestion in general that talk in detail about myths surrounding 'Growth Hormones' or other 'chemicals' in non-organic foods and how they effect us? I would really love to know more about that subject from a trusted source. Your explanation here on how growth hormones in animals isn't a negative - is blowing my mind. Love the content sir!

We have been cross breeding plants for thousands of years, yes. We haven't been splicing plant DNA with genetic information sourced from other places until recently. I don't love that there isn't a different term for these two types of GMO methods. At any rate, it's still good to choose non-GMO products because companies who create them often go on to *patent the seeds*, thereby declaring themselves the "owner" of the plant (and any plants they produce) and using that to charge people for the right to grow "their" seeds. Even when those seeds accidentally blow onto neighboring plantations, via the wind. Screw GMOs because of excessive capitalism and predatory practices.

Any hybrid is ALSO able to be patented. So can any plant that's propagated vegetatively--pretty much all fruit. The stories about Monsanto wickedly keeping a dude from planting his own seeds are a wild lie. He was literally trying to steal their gene by harvesting corn from close to a field with their corn and then spraying the offspring with Roundup to kill all the ones without the genes.

A1/A2 casein cow milk makes me mucous filled AF, so I avoid because I don't like sneezing and blowing my nose constantly. A2 only cow milk, goat milk, and sheep milk don't have this effect on me whatsoever. Well cultured forms (particularly yogurt) of A1/A2 casein milk also doesn't bother me. Many years ago, when I stopped drinking cow milk, I switched to soy milk thinking, "this is going to be better". To my surprise and disappointment, the soy milk also made me a mucous factory, and was actually worse for gassiness and bloating. Something I have been wondering about is the effect of full and extra fat cow milk dairy on male testosterone levels? I've heard conflicting things about it. I'm avoiding the full and extra fat versions of dairy until I see more conclusive evidence one way or another.

I don't think people are talking about crossbreeding/selective breeding when they say GMO. I think they are referring to DNA editing that you couldn't get naturally, like combining corn and bacteria DNA to make Roundup Ready Corn. Saying that we've had it for thousands of years is false.
@Collinpawns
@Collinpawns 2 жыл бұрын
Not false at all. Selecting for a desirable gene IS genetic modification. Using the term DNA editing with negative connotation is also nebulous. GMOs being dangerous is also a nebulous descriptor with no evidence whatsoever. Natural versus unnatural is a non-argument. You realize most GMOs are SINGLE gene splicing events in non coding parts of a chromosome, like an enzyme that prevents a particular fungus from growing on the plant or a protein that makes the plant inedible to an herbivorous insect. Thinking a GMO is dangerous comes from smear campaigning and ignorance. There is not one single shred of evidence to suggest GMOs are dangerous and all the evidence in the world to suggest they are a necessary tool to prevent loss of crop. Why make this argument about "natural" changes? Who cares if it can be found in nature? We aren't natural anymore.

Same but i drink like 4 cups a day to bulk via protein weight gain shake because I don’t like to eat much. Maybe I’ll switch to lower fat content. Organic milk doesn’t upset my stomach like the regular stuff does

There’s a difference between GMO and selective breeding. What we have been practicing for thousands of years is selective breeding. As of yet there are no studies linking either methods to negative health outcomes, though.

My attention span, like mostly everyone here, is short. Once the edits and animations stopped I got bored and had no idea what you were saying anymore but I think it had something to do with milk being good. Need more edits to keep your audience engaged Layne.

You don’t have to die for something to be deleterious. There is a lot between optimal health and death. A lot of people report migraines, GI conditions, skin issues when they consume dairy. Furthermore, some of these people that are symptomatic when consuming dairy in the US don’t aren’t in Europe or other places where dairy isn’t as adulterated.

Organic Whole Milk does not effect the heart and arteries negatively. There is also a not yet understood link between Organic Whole Milk and leaner waistlines. Even with the added saturated fat and calories, Organic Whole Milk consumers, in several studies, were able to drop their body fat levels faster. Possibly the fat in the milk was more satiating, which then had them consuming less milk, or less food volume at other meals? Not sure.

@@tactech4114 Hmmmm, interesting. I know the studies I read were done with Organic Whole, but I do see the Grass Fed on the same shelf. Quite a hefty price tag attached to it at essentially close to $9.50 - $10 dollars a gallon. But I imagine the Grass Fed has got to be healthier... I guess I generally look to get my micronutrient needs met though the consumption of other foods, but not really from milk. I'm going to look at these studies again. I'm sure it was just Organic Whole they were using. But you make an interesting point. I've always wondered what the Raw unpasteurized Grass Fed was all about. All my eggs have been Pasture Raised for the last 2 years or so. God, paid $8 bucks for the last carton, up from $5.29. Thanks for your post.
