Now a Reporters Collective investigation shows that far form helping farmers - NOT A SINGLE rypee was spent on PM AASHA - between elections. Even farmers have been reduced to a vote back - even as they continue to struggle and perish.

Amid the famer protests of the last 4 years, and the massive smear campaign upon them by the government, the urban population has been mostly confused as to what is actually happening. We have been looking at our rising GDP figures and favorable credit rating as the only indicators of our economy, while being ignorant on the issues of the rural and agrarian population. I rained most of April and just hours back we had hailstorms here in Nagpur (the farmer su1c1de capital of the world). Farmers depending on cotton, onion, garlic, coriander, will have terrible loss, this will affect our pockets too. Thanks for raising this point, Akash Bhau.
