New Week New Theme! We've titled this week "Contained" and yes, it will manifest visually as paintings of receptacles of sorts, but we're using our subject matter as an excuse. An excuse for what you say? Well, let's first begin by asking ourselves what it means to use subject matter as pretext. Today's vid is about desperately attempting to untangle something that perhaps is meant to be knotted. Maybe the search for reason doesn't end with reason but with a life dedicated to exploration.

Nice value transitions. I think I will paint a paper bag myself today. I will use a 6"x6" wood panel and mill down a baroque frame as well for it, just for laughs.

❤I think existence itself is question,and of course it's fucked up and scary and filled with wonder,so by all mean we grab to any token of certainty we can find,reality can be too much.for me,when I'm painting,it's like I embody (or contain) the question as appose to pretend to have an answer that gives me courage to be a tiny bit more comfortable with not knowing witch is a fundamental part of existence .

Hi, I'm learning about oil painting, I wonder if you draw it continuously until it's finished, or paint each layer and wait for it to dry and then continue painting.sorry my english not good

He does all of his painting alla prima, meaning he doesn't wait for the layers to dry and does it mostly in one or two sittings. Hope this helps
