@@mikes4x4garage Mike nice job on the refurb, looking good. I got a question, so you have had this truck pulled apart every which way and test drove it awhile. In your opinion , would you consider these new Tacos reliable and built solid? I had a sr5 2016 but I didn't keep it long enough to see if it had issues. What's your verdict on the truck? Looking to get a new truck this year and not sure which to go with . Thanks
@mikes4x4garage2 жыл бұрын
@@nocturnalme3549 so far, I haven’t heard great things about the 3rd gen reliability. Mind you my experience has been different, now that the truck is back together it’s been pretty decent and I’m planning an couple thousand mile road trip for the next week
@nocturnalme35492 жыл бұрын
@@mikes4x4garage gotcha thanks for your honest opinion. I've been hearing the same, even though they present nice under the hood theirs some issues. My 2016 had a engine case leak at just over 60k miles lol got charged for it and then I sold it. Wasn't sure if mine was just a dud or not..guess it's still up in the air. You have any suggestions on late model dependable daily drivers, SUV or trucks? Thanks again

Man, that front bumper is on fire. I wish I had the skills to make something like that.
@jensenmiller64102 жыл бұрын
Mike, it will be worth going back and putting some rubber grommets in those holes in the plastic where the air lines and power come into that air compressor box in the bed. That's a high vibration area so there's a good change those lines and wires will chafe over time. Don't want to be way out back and have your compressor not fire up a while down the road. The electric tape won't be a strong enough barrier especially if it gets coated with sand and roadspray.
@mikes4x4garage2 жыл бұрын
I’m not worried about it, the box cover indexes in those holes. If you’re interested in how much abuse these little compressors can take, check out the review on Pirate4x4. The compressor has a filter as well

Auxbeam also sells a slightly different 8 button version of your switch panel. Have had it in my truck for a couple of years now to run my lights and ARB twin compressor and it hasn't given me any trouble. Only concern I have is the area where the connections are made has no weatherproofing. I sealed it with some foam and so far, so good.

The connections in the bed look like they’re non insulated, given the amount of dirt that was in the cubby shows it’s not sealed very well. I’d suggest sealing it up so you don’t have electrical issues with the compressor later on! You’re doing everything I want to do to my truck haha so it’s fun to watch
