The fire truck cage is out! It’s a truck it’s rectangular it’s 149$ Canadian. Looks like it has more room than any tiny tales cage so far but still has the crappy wheel & water bottle. This “cage” features a fire truck 🚒 “ladder” tunnel that leads to a hideaway. It has 2 reviews both give 1 or 2 stars. Once again looks like a super cool toy. They also have a new type of tube that bends & looks kinda neat, maybe integratabtle with other better brands 🤷🏼‍♀️

It really pains me to see that big-shot companies like PetSmart make really small cages that are marketed towards kids, and are basically toys.

Cant tiny tales just shut down allready? Ugh. They should rebrand and only produce toys since they dont seem to bad. So glad I'm in the uk where tint tales doesnt exist and critter trails arnt seen to often in stores! Sadly their are other small cage brands tho :(

The dinosaur cage would have been so adorable if it was a toy. Unfortunately, it was a cage. Seriously, the designer of these cages should make toys instead. I might want to make that dinosaur cage into a toy instead of a cage. Like, remove all the cage bars, add a nom nom function on the head, maybe remove all the space in it, and tah dah! A really cute toy! THAT DOESNT ABUSE ANIMALS.

Gotch Gun How is that hating? This is common sense, these cages are NOT the right size for any animal. I’m not someone for hamsters or idk anything about them, but I really don’t like the way you commented “Stop hating on them” while PetSmart is hating on their animals and not putting them in correct conditions. Actually in my country we dont have pet smart, but we have a store called kika. It doesn't have any critter tails or whatever they're called, but they do have wire cages (with wire floor and wheel) and hopefully no one actually bought them from there. I got my cage from a depo store (it's like a big store full of work tools and food, but it has animal products as well) and they have a variety of good cages. I wished normal pet stores had normal cages, but hopefully these people will understand that hamsters are not toys

I think you are totally right to assume they have a fire station cage coming out soon. The sad part is petsmart has the opportunity to change if they would try spending all this time and money creating proper enclosures instead of tiny cages made to look like toys.

this, please petsmart! you can continue to sell your themed chews for profit, and even make the bins bright and colorful to catch families' attention, while also creating more awareness for what hamsters actually need so they don't have to suffer .. hell petsmart, you can even make the outside decoratable with a sticker kit or some shit if it means the hamster has a good life.

My parents had to get our dog a new harness because Gus is broken. They went to look at the hamsters, and there was none to be found. And they had a sign saying that there was no handling of animals at this time.

i made a tiktok about this because i saw the same thing on the petsmart website a few days ago one of my commenters made the guess that it might be a fire truck so i’m sticking by that, and now that you said they might be discontinuing the race car i now even further believe it will be a fire truck. my dad is even a firefighter and is extremely disappointed in tiny tales because he loves my hamster.

I was at my local Petsmart recently and observed that they did not have many animals in the store. I asked the associate about it because I was curious if they would continue to get animals during the pandemic. She told me that they were not getting as many but that they had sold A LOT of hamsters lately. I think so many kids are home from school and bored and parents are maybe trying to find ways to keep the kids entertained. They see hamsters as easy pets for kids. My point being, if they are seeing a spike in hamster sales nationwide, they will probably respond with new hamster products. You’re probably not wrong about the fire station!

No, they would be better off selling 200 quart bins with lids that have air ventilation. They could charge twice as much as Walmart for those bins with proper air ventilation. They could stack both the bins and the lids ...

Tiny tales cages are basically toys. They should either cancel the line or have plastic animals come with the cages and the kids can take care of the plastic animals like they are real animals.

Petsmart workers should just make GOOD SIZED CAGES!!! They can still make them cute or whatever but AT LEAST MAKE THEM GOOD SIZED!!! They should also suggest bin cages for their costumers Edit: I'm not trying to offend anybody by this comment, just my thinking

I know that PetSmart's history of hamster "care" makes this wishful thinking to the point of naivety, but I really, truly hope they do what Kaytee did and release a suitable hamster cage. It wouldn't really matter to me if it had fire station décor and a fire-themed hamster tube leading to a small upper loft. I'd be happy even if it connected to every other one of their habitats just so long as it was safe and had the required 450 + sq. inches of unbroken space (preferably at least 550). A connecting firetruck-shaped (large enough and without feet hurting bars/slits) hamster wheel could even be cute. These cutesy themes aren't the problem IHMO, and might even inspire the next generation to care for hamsters. No, the real crime is that habitat after habitat is actually a tiny hamster prison cell of horrors.

Unfortunately she passed away from natural causes due to old age towards the end of 2019 😞 My mom had an amazing two years with her though and she lived to be ~17 years old.
