The part that got me was Molly's dialogue with Naven about what she could do to save her relationship with her sister. I've been going through a less magical version of what Molly is going through this year with my older sibling and the way Jello worded the hopeless desire to fix something that should be easy and brought you joy but there's parts that don't want to be fixed (at least not now), and the situation isn't healthy/maybe can't be fixed, was like a dagger to my poor heart.

Hey now, in defense of Giovanni in this, getting to learn the backstory of how he became the leader of his group, as well as his interactions with Lorelai up to the finale, felt like they added greatly to his character. Sure, he is still definitely a goofball and a lovable idiot, but he's such a sweetheart, and it's interesting to learn exactly what he thinks being a villain means: being someone that everyone thinks is cool, even if he is destined to lose. That lesson he tried to teach Lorelai was definitely one she needed, even if she didn't take it to heart.

You want to know the weirdest thing about Prison of Plastic to me? I almost cried at one point, but it wasn’t any of the sisters fall outs or Naven’s speeches, but the ending with Molly eating a freaking waffle. I had so much empathy for this poor child, such a need for her life to be better, that this happy ending nearly made me cry.

The reason it always nails tone is because, while it is a comedy with zainy characters, it still treats them LIKE characters and not vehicles for jokes. Thats called good writing and an engaging story. ALSO, I love pointing this out, but there were MULTIPLE points of foreshadowing about the ending with Gio and Molly. First when narrating about how Naven couldn't help Molly because the LAW prevented him so she would need someone OUTSIDE the law. And second when Gio talks to Marvin he says essentially "You are now my nemesis, and before the end of the day I WILL STEAL THE MOST VALUABLE THING IN YOUR STORE." So that man decided LONG before the end what he was gonna do. Im so happy he did it. I was team Giodad from day 1 three years ago.

It's sad that Giovanni is less in the book, but I loved all his lines, he's still adorable. I loved the audiobook so much its great, I laughed so hard when Giovanni said ,,uh yes! Like my hero, EVERY DINOSAUR!!" I cried when Molly said ,,I hate you". I saw a lot of posts about lorelai are saying they have conflicted feelings, but dear God, I hate her. Her behavior is inexcusable, unforgivable. Also the moment where naven confronted lorelai, where his voice got deep and he grabbed her? DAMN.

also the foreshadow of him kidnapping molly was funny that entire talk with the dad screamed he was going to get molly out of that houshold

One thing that wasn't brought up that I appreciated was learning about Molly's and Lorelai's mom and her relationship with their dad. Hearing that backstory gave me a bit of understanding into the bonafide worst dad that is Martin Blyndeff. I didn't sympathize with him, but I did understand how, at one point, he could have been a good parent when balanced out by his opposite extreme partner. Also, I've heard no one else being it up, but I remember there being one line that implied that Molly was related to Howie Honeyglow. I'm assuming he could be her uncle. Thinking about how her mother was described, I'm now realizing that definitely sounds likely since it sounds like she had a similar with ethic to him.

Giovanni didn’t almost choke form a rock, he burned his tongue with a coal and lost his sense of taste because he did it multiple times

I love how jello pronounces the word "room". The book was a little fun to listen too.

Also in a way it kinda makes sense that Rick Shades teamed up with the Neo Trio, cause he seems extremely stunted emotionally and socially due to his enslavement. In his mind he probably doesn't see much of a difference between them.

I really like Maven's reaction to that ending. Giovanni did what Maven wished he could do, but his position wouldn't allow without having consequences for people way beyond just himself and Molly.

I think my heart stopped for a second during both Chapter 7 and 13 respectively. I had to immediately spoil the ending to like half my friends though because I wrote like a 15 chapter fanfic where Giovanni just kidnaps Molly. It was so weird I actually don't know how to feel about it. Well actually I do cause this was actually incredible. I don't know if future books will top this for me, honestly. It's going to be so weird deciding favorites later on down the line. I really hope it does super well and gets picked up.

The fact that Brendan Blaber's, Mr. "Good Capitalist is an oxymoron's", favorite character is Phoenica Fleecity, a rich toddler, is hysterical

I just finished the auto book and…man, I loved it! I expected it too be as fantastic as the original series and I was right, I flipping loved the story, the lovable characters, all of there stories, the funny as hell comedy with the slapstick jokes and delivery of the voice actors, and the MANY EMOTIONAL FEELS THAT PUNCHED YOU IN THE GUT SO HARD. All of it was JUST SO *GOOOD!* (also they had Sylvie referenced an bunch and I’m glad about that….also loved the Giovanni also RIGHTFULLY hates mollys dad) I recently found epithet erased around the end of Halloween, and it’s been amazing to fall in love with this series in all!

I feel the reason to why lorelai wasnt as terrifying as the other two antagonist is because the main character just as if not stronger. We never felt that molly or her friends were in any danger. She was the literal destroyer of their worlds.

It's a shame how you didn't mention that Naven has short robot goth girls who are incessantly rude to him as his chauffeurs.

i personally believe PoP is not only worth it but even better then season 1. i love the way Brendon describes his scenes like "it was like watching 2 puppys fight but then they get shot by a canon ball" to emphasize sadness. im so happy with the progression of molly and giovanni. naiven and rick shades are some of my new favorite characters. i felt laurie was a great villian. i dont think i can see this in animated for again from just how spectacular this book was and i hope we get the last 3 made eventually because it was so much fun ive had to listen to it twice already and am showing it to my gf

I listened to the audio over the course of a few days and I really liked it but I have a few quarrels with it. (also ack sorry might've written an essay mb i just have a lot to say) The quality of the audio: voice acting, music, and sound effects are all phenomenally done I wish I could say more but just from the sample clip or the few pages of preview artwork you can tell the quality of it. Every single VA add little quirks in the way that they talk that make them so charming they fully bring the characters to life Lorelai's VA makes her feel like a teen and therefore more sympathetic and Mollys VAs performances during the real emotional moments are amazing. Ricks backstory was very well told and I like him and you really feel molly and him connecting. The story really knows how to drop the light heartedness and ram you with emotional moments. I love the overall writing style of the book the analogies and sfx really brings the world to life. With that being said I had some issues with the plot of the book: The majority of the cast is made up of entirely new characters while most of the character are still very fun it was disappointing to only get two major reoccurring characters from season one with some of them not even getting mentioned at all and with a series called epithet erased there is a distinct lack of epithets getting erased. The audiobook has to play catch up and introduce so many characters the prologue is four chapters long. Another thing was the pacing is so slow molly gets thrown out of the bubble several times and has to go right back in. Characters have long internal monologues that go on for ages which I do personally like but having almost every new character including molly have can be tiering to get though as the audiobook is ten hours long and about 300 pages I feel half of it could have been cut or have multiple plotlines with characters we already know. With Lorelai I do find her as a character really compelling, hiding yourself away from the world by making up stories and fantasies is something I can relate to. I dont think villains need to be sympathetic or likable(and Lorelai sure does test that) I just hate that the climax of the book was revealing to the audience her backstory we don't get a big enough indicator that she has improved as a person which kind of makes the progress in the book feel pointless she shouldn't automatically become a better person and Giovani 100% should have taken molly away from the neglectful household regardless. I just wish the audiobook showed more of an indicator of her at least realizing she was neglecting Molly. I know there more negative than positive but id still recommend it if your okay with a longer paced book for the quality of the audiobook or the beautiful illustrations in the book you can really feel the love and effort that has been put into this project and this series as a whole! Im really happy independent stuff like this with the support of fans comes out and I'm forever grateful Jello got to keep the rights to his characters. I really like the designs of all the characters and will def be drawing fanart in the future lmao.

I have to disagree about Lorelais rank. Spoilers. Obviously. Shes my favorite antagonist so far. For one she's far more of a personal antagonist to Molly. Also I never feared for anyone's life until Zora? So I disagree that that is necessary for a good villain. And she uses my favorite villain tactic, physical and psychological abuse of the protagonist. Fun fact. Molly is canonically malnourished and this is joked about. (Lorelai and her dad lied to cps about the nature of the food she could make) Also, she is anxiety ridden and depressed. (Which Lorelai seems ENTIRELY unempathetic to) She shows heavy signs of Psychological abuse throughout the book. (Attempting to appease her sister while treating her like a bomb that could hurt her friends if she said something wrong) May we remember Lorelais intro where she says "well why don't we go ask dad?""maybe cause he actually LIKES me" This^ this is abuse. May we remember the finale where she was just berrating Molly and Molly just kept a flat dead tone and told her whatever she wanted her to to keep her from hurting Mollys friends. This^ is an abuse victim. I would compare Lorelai as a villain to Cinderellas stepmother or mother Gothal. The difference being theose two are weak, which is why they use abuse tactics to feel in control. Lorelai is tyrannical, blaming everyone else instead of facing her fear, getting a grip and taking care of her sister. Gothal and the stepmother would kill people to get what they want, but Lorelai is just so used to her creations and having that level of godlike power that she's careless with the lives of real people. Zora is scary, sure. And Mera is complex. Both are villains you like rooting for a little. But lorelai is Evil. She has reasons, understandable fears and stress, but reasons are not excuses for abuse. But...my favorite villain may end up being Naven because HOOO I DID NOT SEE THAT ONE COMING! And I am SO down for it. Tldr: long term physical and psychological abuse is worse than thievery and cowboy vigilantism. Fight me in the comments.

I love this book so much, that I'm on my third listen of it. I can not get enough of this world and it's fun characters.

Honestly it makes sense by Lorelei is not threatening of a villain because she's like a kid with a gun or a knife sure they can kill you but you're not scared of them because they're a kid they don't want to kill people they just happen to find something that they shouldn't have in their hands except instead of a gun or a knife it's her epithet cuz like yeah she can kill people with it but why would she cuz like yeah she doesn't like Molly cuz of how serious she is but she never kill her because she's her sister and why I mean a kid with a gun because a kid with a gun doesn't know that it can cause harm Lorelei knows that are everything can cause harm but she's just too wrapped up in her emotions to where she forgets that if you cast a spell that supposed to make somebody suddenly not have a heart they'll die Lorelei does know her own strength she forgot that she didn't just playing pretend she can actually hurt people
