Funny you say that because I felt the exact opposite. I recently tried AC7 on Steam Deck (played in on launch on ps4) after having played PW. And AC7 felt much more cinematics (besides the lack of "orange" :P)

@@Generic-ODST It’s hard to tell because the planes already explode and fire sparks and flares but yeah they do, you can catch a glimpse of them sometimes. I’m not sure if it always happens but it does happen quite a bit.

I have to agree there, but the point can easily be made that difficulty levels are what can allow both to happen at the same time: to bring new players in and help them along, whereas giving a satisfying experience to players who want and need better. AC7 in my opinion has little excuse, it’s perfectly reasonable that the gameplay could have felt better and been better without alienating new players. I bought AC7 on a whim. I have to agree, I did not know what to expect since I've never heard of Ace Combat before. I had a lot of fun. If it was a hardcore sequel to other Ace Combat games with super advanced mechanics I would probably not finished it.

I agree. Though it isn't the support you can expect from 5, 0, and definitely not 6, (Mostly because you don't have a command/fire support feature in that game.) they can and will pull their weight in the gold Kaiser pays them. I have seen on other people's videos, planes swarming land battleships, allied planes shooting down craft, allied craft destroying ground targets, (Sometimes before you even get to them), the Eminent Domain sinking enemy vessels, and either Hitman 2 or Hitman 3 getting the final hit on Frost in moonlight night. This is especially helpful in conquest mode.

Trigger feels like a complete noob next to the other Ace Combat and now Project Wingman protagonists, for good reason. Nothing your Allies say feels deserved, whereas with the other games, when you get praised, you know it’s completely deserved. You had to earn every title and bit of admiration, where 7 gives none of that

@@idontknowyet2875 V-TOL stands for Vertial TakeOff and Landing, and refers to the ability of certain planes and helicopters to jsut... take off vertically from a Helipad or what have you instead of needing a bigass runway. It's the default mode in most if not all helicopters, and an optional mode in fixed wing aircraft that I recall a lot of people don't like as it can add a lot of complexity for some logistical flexibility. some V-TOL fixed wing aircraft, off the top of my head, include the F-35B and famously the british Harrier 'Jump-jet'

i am gonna be honest, i beat AC 7 on ace, only real trouble i had was the boss planes and the Alicorn. I may just be really dam good at it though, but i have not experienced the issue of not having enough time except on the sandstorm mission.

Most Ace Combat players I know don't think it's a problem. They see bullshit challenges and their response are always : "Bet." 20km tunnels? Bet. Weathers that actually hinders flying? Bet. Game taking too long to release? F**king Bet.

Ace 7 felt off when I played at my boys house, multiplayer is what has me on the fence. PW looks better to me but no multiplayer, but has that conquest mode ace 7 feels in general alittle janky, not to bad but alittle, PW seems likes it plays alot smoother and just looks really Dame good 💯

Quite late to the topic but recently been playing both games on their hardest difficulty and AC7 feels way too easy even without the dlc or endgame jets.

This is so forced its painfully unfunny

An Apache can actually do that. Not so with the other choppers IIRC.

well, also something to think about, because of PW's lore the MIG 29 is not the exact same MIG 29 from our time, as it takes place 432 years after a apocalypse that puts Los Angeles, Las Vegas, a massive chunk of the Rocky mountains, and most of Japan Under water via the entire Ring of fire lighting off. the plane just looks like a MIG 29 because either some picture survived, or by shear luck.

Ofcourse the F-35C is not to be compared with in the first place. It's just that Project Wingman dev's got their VTOL features worked out in the first game itself while AC's haven't so far. Maybe they had other plans, idk really :)

Of course, this didn't stop the Israeli pilot chasing him from getting off a burst of DEFA 552 30mm. cannons into the Egyptian MiG-21 once he realized the cloud of dust wasn't the pilot crashing, but the jet barely pulling up. The luckiest thing is, the pilot ejected and survived despite his MiG shot to pieces.

The ships are really fun to kill especially when you have enough MLAA to down all of their weapons, not so much fun when you crash into them.

@@andrehashimoto8056 How many planes have ASM’s? And when they do there is only 8. In conquest mode you’ll be overwhelmed by dozens of airships. You’ll end up using up all of your ASMs and using every rail gun shot to take them down.

I honestly prefer 4's handling, with the insane roll rates and slow acceleration. The Scinfaxi and Hrimfaxi fights in 5, for example, would've been much more interesting with 4's significantly lower climb rates making the burst missiles an actual threat if you got caught low and slow.

Are you using advanced controls? You should be able to roll the aircraft in AC7 no problem if you're using that control scheme.

(lol) if you are good enough missiles literally won’t touch you, the gun is basically AC7 laser pods on steroids and AOA is so much more powerful then flairs that you would even be able to use em. do gotta admit a decent idea but sadly unreasonable to the point of years of work on it alone for a handful of people. Sadly even co op is a stretch due to sheer complexity of multiplayer for this type of game, I do see it as possible in the future tho here’s hoping.

Love Project Wingman but the interaction between Banddog and the penal colony pilots in AC7 beats any interaction in PW. PW interactions are basically a mashup of AC Zero, 4, & 5

Not like: Nerfed NATO 120mm HEATFS based off an INDIAN DROD paper (Their Military R&D department), a Nation that doesn't use nor has hostile neighbors that field such guns. Removed a key Armoring part of Leopard 2A4 and above (The 40cm Armored Gun Trunion behind the mantlet) to make a weakspot as BS as the JSDF's Type 90 is. Never fixed the Zombie Sabre issue. Are using fucking ROADMAPS for their development in FUCKING 2023, when such idea is more os a JOKE FROM DISHONEST GAME DEVS THAN AN ACTUAL WORTHWHILE THING to believe. Gave the Older T64B ammo from post 90s despite the MBT never truly using it during its service time in the USSR. Wrong Autocannon Load mechannism for a bunch of AC armed IFVs. Unrealistic Ballistic performance of specific ammo types that only happen in SPECIFIC NATIONS (German APCBC somehow is UNABLE to get a trapshot ricochet 99.9% of the time, while Soyviet BSHEBC does so with a stupidly rigged consistency). Took THREE YEARS ALMOST to put a Two Plane stab on an IFV whose gun data says it should have one BY DEFAULT. A CHA plate of a T34 medium can outright tank even 183mm HESH or 120mm AP/APDS, but the front part of a KT tank turret can somehow be punched through by a gun that has BARELY the needed pen to bypass that face, and still have the shrapnel or HE charge get damage to the back turret ammo. KT using the Back turret Racks, when historically it was NEVER USED PAST the first major incident of a KT lost along its crew due to that. Wimp Turd is as Realistic as a Mary Sue character in the MCU being likeable.

@@mrandrossguy9871 With explosions it makes more sense because it's a sudden expansion of force. Get far away enough from the explosions and they don't apply screenshake. For AC7, I hate the wind mechanic the most, next to missiles going stupid in clouds.

@@mathmocha1331You mean the S-47? It looks more like an obese Berkut to me, honestly. It had *way* too many Cheese Doodles. Maybe you should also do a comparison of stealth in various games, for both the player *and* enemies? The aircraft that have stealth in AC (that I remember, anyway) are the Halloween F-14 in Assault Horizon (The Jack-O-Lantern one), the Berkuts in AC6 (Gracemeria Patrol is the level I think), and *possibly* the F-35s in Inferno on ACZ and the F-117s in The Journey Home on AC5? I'm not sure about those last two, though. Lethal Skies actually has varying degrees of stealth for the aircraft that have it. The F-5Z, JAS-39, and Su-35 have low stealth, while the F-22, F-35, YF-23, S-47, and F-25 have high stealth. I think the F-18, and MiG-29 also have low stealth too, and the Berkut might have mid-tier or high stealth, but don't quote me on that. (I referred to the *Su*-47 as the Berkut because it has a very similar designation to the last VTOL fighter in LS2 that you mentioned, the *S*-47, and it would be easy to say one or the other as a typo by mistake.)

@@mathmocha1331Pseudo-VTOL basically means the aircraft has no *hard* stall speed (The HUD and warning voice still says it stalls, but it doesn't start falling out of the sky and plummeting towards the ground when it *does* stall, so stalling is pretty much meaningless for those aircraft.). Also the ASF-X in AC:AH can actually *CLIMB* while stalling, I think!

@@Sailor639I’m super late on this but weapon systems officers don’t have to fire the weapons. They make tasks more manageable by lowering the workload from one person to two. While typically the wso would fire a long range missile, in a dogfight like with crimson 1 the pilot would most likely just pull the trigger to fire a heat seeker

It's more like a "pseudo-vtol" as I see. The stall speed in the Accipiter (shown in the video) is drastically reduced, so it would almost feel like it's hovering in the air :)

I agree on everything but lack of checkpoints. It’s to make the game difficult and not walk you through it, babying the player like AC7. The point can be made that if that’s too hard, the player needs a lower difficulty level. In either case, it adds to the immersion as you actually try not to die in Project Wingman, whereas in 7 it’s just like, “oh well, restart from checkpoint” with no harm, no foul, no loss. Games that don’t present consequence fail to build pressure on the player and thus the sense of accomplishment is lower. AC7 just doesn’t do it for me, that being one of the reasons

@@Mobius118 yeah sometimes in AC7 I died on purpose so I could resupply my jet with more missiles when I ran out, also I liked that the gun in PW was actually useful compared to AC7.
