I'm not a biker myself (yet), but I actually got to talk to him a few years back. I was working in tech support for Verizon at the time and he actually called me. I talked to him for about an hour and helped him with some things with his phone and we also talked about motorcycles. I told him I would love to learn how to ride someday and he actually invited me down to Daytona that summer and told me he could teach me how to ride over a weekend. He said that if I could learn in a weekend that he'd hook me up with a custom motorcycle since he owns a shop down there. He was very down to earth and very respectful. Great guy honestly.

I guess the bottom line is this, if someone can’t take your cut than you’re a 1%er. If you’re more badazz than the people trying to take your cut you can call yourself whatever you want. I was born a 1%er, no system could ever break me no matter how hard they tried and I’ve always stood up for my beliefs no matter how bad it hurt me in the end. That’s a true 1%er and you don’t need a bike or club to be that person if that’s who you are, but stepping on another MC’s territory with bad intentions is also going to bring you trouble, respecting 1% culture is very important if you’re going to wear the patch but just remember that on or off your bike and in or out of your club that 1% patch is worth fighting over and you better be ready to defend it when the time comes.

I know a few 1%ers and for what I know, it’s a way of life thing. Doesn’t always have to be a club thing. Much respect to all the 1%ers out there 🇺🇸

Need more bikers like that guy. He seems to get it. No dealing drugs, no pimpin young vulnerable girls, no beating down unless attacked. That is a real biker. If a guy is pushing drugs and girls they deserve no honor or respect. Use your strength t help people. Not hurt people.

Sose, I was offered prison or military a thousand years ago when I was a young man. Club brothers were in the court room that day and had my back either way. After I got out of the Army and was told my patch was for me to pick up at any time, They respected my decision to ride alone. I spent 14 years after my service as a single Dad my children were /are my priority! Now even though I try to not take myself too seriously ( just look at my pic with Mickey Mouse glasses on) many folks steer clear of me. I like that because I hate people. They are unreliable and don't know what team work or membership means. Now I ride alone with the utmost respect for club and organization members. I take care of myself and my family and those that ask earnestly. Lone Wolf? They are just wanting attention and a name without earning or giving credit to anyone else. You mention your mentor quite often out of respect. No one has achieved anything by themselves so there are NO lone wolfs. Every one needs to give someone credit for who they are or what they are achieving. Hoka Hey

Lotta lone wolves feel like being a “1%er” means being a biker who don’t give a fuck about the law. Lifestyle choice, not necessarily club. I feel that, but that doesn’t mean you should put a 1% patch on your cut. I would never do that, that’s just asking for problems.

One black diamond club got there 1% patch from a sole member helping another 1% in a sticky situations. You also have the support batch which depends on where you are if you get one. A 1% patch was given then too instead of a support batch.

Opinions are pretty devided here mang only question I have is what if you earned your diamond patches back in the day and maybe 10 years ago left the mc on good terms would that be acceptable in having the 1% patch if you just became lone wolf.

1%er title is already very unique, whether you are out of a club or in a club, if you are retired from a specific club of specific region then yes you are still considered a 1%er, if you are kicked out of a 1%er club then you are not considered a 1%er to that club and their allies regardless of rank, and now have 1 enemy club or many enemies always disregarding or even watching you ( ALWAYS be prepared for confrontation because your name and bike will always be remembered as an enemy of said club),, unless you move from the region then count your blessings and never talk about your former club life cause it may or may not end well. If you rise in power and respect as CJ has and have fought your way to establish your title in your region as he has and have enough knowledge to understand the levels of respect, work, blood, etc. it takes to wear the patch, then there are 2 different ways to establish yourself one way is to do it like CJ has, always fighting and dealing with situations the second less fighting but most of the time will be conversing of war stories and sharing beer with said loner (give respect to get respect) as I have been told by retired and older club members you and only you have to approach the dominant club of said region with full respect and full reason behind your motive to want to have the title of 1%er LW (means no club, no reinforcements when you are alone) many will vote against it because gaining the respect from those who worked months, years and so on to even hold the 1%er patch (which is already difficult to obtain) takes time and may or may not agree to allow a loner to hold status as 1%er LW also many will point out what is the point of even wanting the status without a club, there are lighter exceptions to the status such as being a retired military vet, being an already well known friend to many clubs with lots of respect from different MCs it is entirely upto one's entire mindset or belief to go after the patch of 1% diamond life Loner, this is a topic as time goes on will become easier to talk about if we as a motorcycle discussing, wind blowing, weather riding group come together not just here but everywhere and as others begin to understand and pass down the knowledge, respect, and education from generation to generation, its starts with you. #Ghostin Texas

My take on this maybe different. To me club patches are just that so why would I want to imitate something I am not. To me there is a lot of freedom to being an independant and to me trying to rep something I am not is painting myself into a corner. I like to do what I want, when I want, how I want and with who I want.. so even if I lead that life I don't need to brand myself for it. Not only does it get attention of clubs but cops to boot and who needs that shit. If I decide I want to wear a patch I will kick up the food chain for it.

If a member of your club confronted (And started the altercation) with a local legend like that and your boy got folded up like this guy did, would the club do anything? I'm no 1%'r by any means, but I find this to be an interesting scenario. I would assume I'd let the issue go based on the fact that my guy started the altercation and put hands on him. Also, If everyone in the area knew him, I'd also assume any action toward him would have to be brought in front of the club? Just curious as to why this guy can even ride a motorcycle in the area having constant run ins with the HA chapter there?

Not OG or afiliated, but through hanging/ in several clubhouses/bars and talking to some very friendly high ranking officers, I was privelidged to get some insider info a little more "detailed" than usualy shared with the public. (I stay away from any questions about club politics!, but will ask about their history.)I know of a then young/new independant(Dutch) mc that became 1% overnight by blessing of a foreign(american) national president after their crew saved the lives of several members following a horrific traffic accident involving the"mother" MC and a big rig with brake failure. They got to keep their own colors and cuts and identity but were awarded 1%diamonds in the colors of their"patron"club that had to be worn left shoulder and fliped 90 degrees as to show theiy were down/protected with them but but not of them. This patch also granted the freedom to ride in any pack freely without any strife. If interesed i have some nice stories I able to tell without blabbing or talking to much.

I was at a gas station talking to him for like 2 hours. I had zero clue who he was. He was extremely nice. That was when I first started riding.

This was a cool story and definitely an outlier. I’ve been bouncing solo for almost 30 years and have never seen anything like that before. I’m grateful to have many patch holder friends (most call me brother) from Boozefighters to Warlocks to Cossacks and Pagans. But as much as I respect the history, I could never front a 1% and I ain’t no pushover... hehehe. It’s just asking for an asswhoppin to go that road. When a guy is in a 1% club, he has credibility because other 1% club members approved of him. If you're alone claiming 1%, why would people believe it? What bar was set and by who to qualify him as a 1%'er?

I saw this video clip a year ago. He took on two dudes in that bar. Dam their beat the hell out of the other guy. He have some serious knuckle game!! Even if you left out the mob ties. Nordstrom is one of those ones or individuals in the streets not to fuck with and love to get into some sh..t or about that bullsh..t.
