Was Shane wrong though? Think about everything that happens throughout the series? Shane was only wrong in how twisted he got over Lori but he was right about the hard decisions. A world taken over by zombies isn't some lovey dovey sit by the campfire world. Shanes only mistake was being ahead of the curve and the rest of the group not being able to catch up.

Nah, Shane had to kill Otis, Him, otis AND Carl would have died if he didn't kill Otis. PLus Otis put them in that situation in the first place. And the only thing Shane lies about is how Otis died. He hasn't lied about anything else so. SHANE IS THE GOAT. I'd have killed Otis too to save my life and the life of a child I loved.

I think the issue with that scene is they never make it clear how far away they are from the Car, so we never know how close or far away they were from safety. I think it's more of a fact they could only keep hopping for so long before they'd get caught

You know what makes your ENTIRE argument fall apart. Shane tried sacrificing HIMSELF first. Once Otis said no he sealed his own fate. Shane was willing to die to save Carl.

@@brittanylewandowski6200 nah because saying something and doing something are two different shoes. And Shane started getting off the rails waayy earlier than that. First occasion when he almost beat Ed to death in 1x3 after his argument with Lori (not saying Lori wasn’t being a bitch and that Ed didn’t deserve it), it just felt okay because it was Ed who was abusing Carol and Sophia but this was the first time it was shown Shane has serious trouble with self control and is a very impulsive person, acting on emotions rather than over-thinking something first, not knowing when to stop. Second situation was when he was thinking about shooting Rick in the back for the first time over a minor misunderstanding/ argument when they were out in the woooodss alone when Dale caught him. Then later back at the CDC when he was drunk and tried to rape Lori even though she clearly vocalized she doesn’t want it (again, signs of selfishness and no self control) and then when the doors were closed and Shane decided to shoot at the computers and almost shot Dr. Jenner even though the computers and Dr. Jenner are the two things that would potentially be able to open that door again and then of course how he went about the whole barn situation that he didn’t over- think at all even though Hershel was already threatening to kick them off his grounds, knowingly risking everyone else’s safe stay there (pregnant Lori AND Carl included) and worse case taking into account just killing Hershel and the rest of the Greene family instead. So no my argument doesn’t fall apart 😂 it’s a fact.

And saying he was risking their safe spot at the farm is DUMB. It was not a safe place with a barn full of walkers LMFAO. That was the only smart thig to do. PLus Hershel wouldn't have been able to kick them off the farm, he didn't have the power. They would have just taken it in the end regardless. And it's nto a fact. He wouldn't have tried to sacrifice himself if he was jsut selfish. Shane was the only smart person then. All part fo the reason he let Rick kill him in the end.

Yeah, one of the things that make the walking dead so good & unique is the fact that the story relies more upon the people & characters rather than the zombies. Like at some point we kind of get desensitized to them and they become kind of an extra factor. It's really the people that keep you on your toes. It's interesting to see how it shows the change in mindsets, morals, communities & etc. Especially the differences in which people cope with the new world.

Shane was a stronger leader in s2 but it's only because of Shane's death and Shane's actions that rick became the character we love. Rick even knows Shane was right about everything and probably regrets killing him and not listening to him.

All Shane wanted in the end was Lori and Carl to himself and he was prepared to do whatever that took including killing his best friend. He didn't care about the group at all and would've had the group kicked out of the farm and back on the road within a couple days. That's not a leader, that's a coward who only worries about himself and the things he wants. If u cant see that it's because u don't want to.

Also Shane wasn't going to kill Rick he had every opportunity to but he couldn't do it. He even holds Ricks hand as he dies. Shane in S1 and 2 was right 100% of the time when it came to survival and what was best for who he cared about. He isn't a good guy with good intentions but he's definitely not as bad as u and many others make out to be. He's emotionally unstable which is why he snapped so early. If u can't see that then it's because u don't want to.

Also, re: Otis, if you remove your personal investment from the situation, and look at it logically you can understand WHY he didn't see Rick Carl and Shane. Think about it, the middle of the woods in bumble-Fu*& Georgia, 3 guys standing perfectly still, wearing brown and dirty clothes and covered in mud. They might as well had been wearing head to toe camo. And perfect visibility in dense woods like that is already impossible. Even before the apocalypse, he wouldn't expect anyone to be out there. RIP Otis: a good guy with a good heart and intentions, in a crap situation.

Dude, pay the 100 euro....lol. BUT, granted Shane is doing what HE feels he needs to do to accomplish what he wants to accomplish AND he gets it done. He has good intentions, but the way he does it and the WHY he does it, IS selfish. He tells himself " I'm doing this for Lori and Carl", but he doing it for himself, so he can FEEL bigger and better than Rick. He's an angry guy with anger issues and very little self control and an inability to take rejection. I wouldn't call him a Hero, or Villain OR an Anti-Hero. He's kind of all 3... but also NOT. At this point it's obvious that he's cracking. And Lori's not that much better either.

We don't know how far that car was and the walkers were walking faster than Shane and Otis so eventually they would have caught up to them and even if Shane died who would u rather a survivalist who's not strong mentally but is strong as a decision maker in ur group or a fat guy who cant make it across the street without turning into a bowling ball

@trizard3940 The fat guy over Shane any day. Shane is pychotic and would eventually kill me. If Rick was there, he would've come up with a plan where both him and Otis would've survived. Rick did it when him, Shane, and Randall were stuck in that parking lot with a bunch of walkers. Shane is just good at taking the easy way, which was killing Otis.

I don't think it's anything to do with being a good or bad person. But rather what each other was willing to sacrifice to survive. Otis wouldn't survive in this world because he wouldn't sacrifice parts of himself for that survival, where as Shane, Rick, Carl, and the rest of the group all have it in them to sacrifice a part of themselves to keep living. Otis, reminds me of the Alexandrians in S6, and what does Rick immediately say about them? That they won't make it

After watching the full series and knowing what Rick went through and how things for him ended up you really think Rick would have sacrificed an innocent man like Otis?
