Is Social Media, Facebook Okay for the Solomon Islands? Street Talk With Owen Talo. Many people use facebook and other Social Media platforms in the Solomon Islands. Some use fake accounts to threaten and cyberbullying. Is it okay for the Solomon Islands?

Thanks Own for taking your time to interview our people on this very important subject. Its sickening on how some people are going to the extent of making derogatory comments. Government needs to regulate it.

Fair point, The reason I left that platform 4 years ago... Mark Zuckerberg the CEO of META was on trial for allegations about FB that causes death to individuals who were exposed and has fined those families... Here in S.I the government don't have any real regulations that guides citizens leading to cyber bullying and harassment online. The worst part is the fact that all profiles are sold by META to companies and only God knows who... That platform is truly has its benefits but, the dark side of it is horrific.

I think Facebook should employ some moderators in the Pacific region so that when reports are made, they can understand the context and deal with the issues accordingly. Currently, when most of the issues are reported, Facebook always come back and say that they do not see any issues at all with the reported content..,hao na by oketa white man lo US understandm wat umi reportim ya?

In Fiji It's really affecting the younger generation and we need to be aware of it's advantages and disadvantages. Facebook has also become a News book people not minding their own business especially in cyber bully. Love Solomon 🇸🇧Good interview. Mind opening.

In Solomon islands Facebook is a mean for child sexual exploitation or harassments even causing the death for some. All your informations are sold by Meta to companies.
