Corn Snakes are probably my favorite for what we have. That combination of reds, oranges and yellows is just... *chefs kiss* Also I was introduced to snakes because my 3rd grade teacher had a corn snake as a pet in her classroom.

The best thing I've heard you say on this channel. "If you leave them alone, you can come back and see them again." Perfectly expresses why I don't consider handling snakes to necessarily be a part of herping. I'm happiest when I can observe a snake without causing it to react to my presence.

I really like your attitude about not harassing things. So many folks have to grab it and hold it. I do a lot of photographing on protected land so I generally take a hands off approach. Phones are so amazing cameras now, I seldom use my dslr.... Great video and good comradery with fellow herpers. It's good to see guys working together for fun.

Good stuff, two of my faves, ratsnakes and eastern kings. Your trips are very well documented, with the focus mainly on the snakes themselves but just enough of the people for the necessary context of a snake-hunt. Some of your "competitors" it's way too much about "the guy" and not enough about the snake. Yours is a perfect balance, well-done and thanks. AND... no music - a BIG plus there!

The juveniles of many skink species have blue tails including the broad head skink. It helps them survive because the bright color distracts predators when the tail breaks off. They lose the blue tail when they get older.

One thing I cannot stand is people that who do that would go ballistic if people put that trash in their yards. I tell people all the time if you take it in please take it out. I just saw a sign that read Take nothing but photographs leave nothing but Footprints.
