In 2012 Subaru did an update to the WRX & STI. What was bigger news was they offered an option between the hatchback and a new sedan.What was featured was an ultra 0wide flared fender look. Even though the engine remained the same this new look got people excited about the STI. Check out more of the fine details of this 2013 Subaru WRX STI.

It’s mind boggling that after this new body style was released, now EVERYBODY loves the Hawkeyes. But when it was the new model only true Subie lovers had them. 🤷🏾‍♂️ oh well

I got a 2018 sti and I absolutely love it! Judging by how they've been upgrading it and how well they've been doing on track records, i think the STI has gone from a rally car, to a pretty damn good track car!

Stis are greath cars. For style and many reasons more. Is one of the best rally cars is a legend. I personally like the Hawkeye. The hatchback looks good. But why some many people want the hatchback back. Somebody can tell me? I own a sti 18 and for me i love the car know matter what other people say

I liked the hatchback all the way back to 2000, they were nice looking and the one here had a slightly better turbo. If I remember correctly its the same one that they put in the Forester, twin scroll instead of the single blade I have one sitting in my garage. It was suppose to go on the old RS but I sold the car before I ever got around to it lol, never know they might bring one out with the 2020 rehash but I'm not sure if they sold enough of them to be a viable option.

Just imagine if instead of saying a 4 cilinder flat engine with 300hp you could say in 2020 it has a 6 cilinder twin turbo engine capable of producing 430 hp. Something to think about.

You really don't want the 2009-20011 - oil consumption issues big time. Luckily I don't have that in my 2015. If I did... I'd have been selling it asap. I loved the hatch personally if you don't have a family. I prefer a 3 door vs a 4 door and the handling was a bit different with the 3 door from what I've heard. I actually wish my 2015+ had the hatch option. Brings me back to the GSX days. I agree though.... they should offer beefier sway bars from the get go..... SPT engine mods like front mount coolers and maybe even offering that special STI or special WRX 350 HP versions. I believe they would have sold like hotcakes. They needed stock/modified cars from the factory WITH the warrant like Ford offers in the Mustangs.

Sometimes people like unique things like the Subaru flat engine but sometimes car makers have to understand when an idea has run it's time. Me personally I don't think people are going to complain much if Subaru desist of using this engine. I don't think Subaru will hear a lot of complaints of they move on to a 6cil twin turbo engine after all it's going to be 2020. I don't see a lot of manufacturers building 4 cilinder single turbo engines on their sport cars in 2020. I do see companies using 4cil turbo engines on their base models like Mercedes do on their smaller affordable cars. There is a reason you don't see true sport cars with a 4 cil engine anymore. 300hp is not going to cut it this days for a sport car. They have everything else right but the engine.
@ChiSpire
@ChiSpire 6 жыл бұрын
jorge irizarry 6 cylinder twin turbo, wow that would be amazing. Highly doubt that would happen though. Actually four-cylinders can be quite adequate though, just look at what’s companies like IAG and outfront are doing with their four cylinder blocks, cars Making over 1000 hp.
@jorgeirizarry5971
@jorgeirizarry5971 6 жыл бұрын
ChiSpire well, there is some true on that but none of those engines are flat engines or stock engines. There are 4 cilinder engines producing 1000hp yes absolutely but none of them are factory. It's close to imposible to create a reliable 4 cilinder 1000hp and way to expensive to produce. "At the end of the day" (Raiti's voice) it has to be reliable and profitable.
@ChiSpire
@ChiSpire 6 жыл бұрын
jorge irizarry if course they’re flat they are boxers: www.iagperformance.com/IAG-Stage-3-Plus-EJ25-Subaru-Short-Block-WRX-STI-p/iag-eng-1350.htm You can reliably get high horse power out of these, 600 hp no problem. I think you’re underestimating four-cylinder technology these days, for example I just bought a new 2018 seven seater SUV with a four-cylinder the has over 300 pounds of torque.
@RaitisRides
@RaitisRides 6 жыл бұрын
jorge irizarry I’m very curious which way they are going to go. What ever they do it needs to be some kind of change. I think they can get it done with the flat four, but they need some upgrades especially to the turbo.
@RaitisRides

+Raiti's Rides I loved the hatchback. If Subaru had one in 2016 I may have purchased that instead of the RS. I didn't trust buying a used 2014 Subaru so the RS was my choice (I found the Golf R too boring) and I haven't looked back. That said, I'm strongly considering an Audi RS3 for my next vehicle so if you happen to review one of those Joe, I wouldn't be disappointed! ;)

@cinca0989
@cinca0989 6 жыл бұрын
Diego Tobar I wouldn't say it's exactly cross shopping (since it's almost double the price) but I know what you mean! I no longer have a girlfriend so looking to spend money on myself, haha. My next vehicle will be more daily friendly while still being capable on the track. Also, nothing quite like that 5 cylinder sound. Coming from the RS, I'm bummed that the MK3 doesn't sound nearly as good as the MK2. I can correct for that with an RS3. ;) The STI is a beautiful car, congrats on the purchase!

Anderson Rodriguez That's a thing of the past. People have moved on from that. That is why they both have lost popularity. There are so many better things available today that people don't appreciate the history anymore. Yes there is some people holding on to that revolutionary era but the hype is over. Hopefully Subaru can destroy everybody by taking a risk with a 6 cil twin turbo engine.
