As an owner of 2021 TLX A-Spec, the touch pad works pretty nice and is pretty easy to use, once you get used to it.

Very nice review Joe and Lori. I like the front facia of the other trims over the type S one. I think it should have been more aggressive. Still I like the this type S overall and will be ordering one. Would like to see the orchid color in person before ordering but likely will go with a different color. Torn between Apex blue and Tiger eye though. Thx Joe!

Hey Joe, just a little correction 1:31. The SQ5 is the competition for a would be RDX Type S, X3 M40i, GLC43 AMG. The MDX Type S competes with the Q7 55, X5 40i, GLE450 AMG as well as the gV80 3.5t

Well done. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 When is Acura officially releasing this Type S model!!!! 😠😠😠 I have been talking with the dealership ready since June to purchase and they have no idea. I was told Acura will do online ordering like they did for the Type S. That sucks, someone who is not an Acura Type S enthusiast might take to spot before someone who is, in turn will sell that allocation for more. Also Acura has now released, the NSX Type S, today the RDX 2022, and previewed the Integra. I feel for all the dealerships as they can get orders but no inventory to sell. Chip manufacturing issue is all I hear. Will this madness ever end, and we get back to purchasing vehicles like before. I use to be a Honda/Acura client years ago, one 1989 Civic SI Hatchback, 2 Integra GSR'S, first Gen TSX with 6 speed manual. Looking to return to Acura again, but this is getting crazy. It be well worth the wait. Tiger Eye Pearl exterior with Orchid interior. Those 21" rims, Brembo front brakes and real quad exhaust. Hope it sounds amazing in sport mode...love it 😍😍😍

I have a 2017 rdx and I love the 2 screens. Personally I think the Navigation should have its own screen. I hate that the nav comes down every time you want to change the radio (or anything for that matter) Just my 2 cents.

Had no idea the Type S MDX was even out! Nice video review.👍🏿😎. Glad they removed that big plastic looking collision detection piece off the front emblem. Machine and gloss black wheels look cool, but Gloss black would really stand out!

I like rear window wiper where it is. From a practicality standpoint it cleans the window where you need it to clearly see the road behind you at the bottom of the rear window. I wiper that came down from the top would limit visibility, in my opinion.

I always have a thing for Acura brand... I owned a 1989 Integra, a 1992 Acura Legend, and now a 2013 RDX (although I have to say that the 2013 RDX is not refined and far less sporty than I thought it should be). This 2022 MDX Type S look promising :).

Hello Joe. Good review video for the soon to be released Acura MDX Type S. This is the first time a Type S performance trim goes on a Acura SUV. It's good they started with the MDX SUV first. The outside appearance looks great. Anyone can easily discern the regular MDX and the MDX Type S. Based on the way the vehicle was parked close to the trailer, that's good Lori was still able to get viewing in the left side of the cargo area due to the angle. The quad exhaust tips looks nice. Even though the left side was seen in the video anyone would get a general idea on the right side as well. As for the Audi SUV to compete with the the MDX Type S, that would be the Audi SQ7 and not the Audi SQ5 which was mentioned at the 9:13 time mark in the video. The SQ5 is a compact size performance SUV while the SQ7 is a mid-size third row seating performance SUV. So, the Audi SQ7 performance SUV would be the vehicle of choice to go up against the Acura MDX Type S performance SUV due to the fact that both vehicles are mid-size third row seating SUVs. I'm on agreeable terms with you that Acura should've made the rear spoiler protrude just a little bit more. It would've given it a little more aggressive look. Maybe during a mid-cycle refresh model year they might make it slightly bigger and protrude a little if they receive a lot of criticism. Let's see what happens.

I plan to buy an MDX. I'm contemplating between Regular Advance and Type-S Advance. 70% of my use will be recreational with wife/kid and I am not sure if I need the extra HP/Torque at the cost of a relatively more complicated engine, untested new motor, lower fuel efficiency, +11k cost, +200lb weight. In Type-S, I like the better sound system, self-sealing tires, brembo brakes, rear laminated acoustic glass, red/ebony option. Massaging and adaptive suspension are good to have features probably as I have never experienced them in the past. Any inputs on which one to choose is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Great vid! This is one of the best SUV's at its price considering this engine and Acura luxury. Its on my list as my next car, but the only downside is the amount of piano black gloss they added all over the panel, smh.

Love the blue exterior but the interior I would pick a different color. But sweet ride
