I managed to get one for around £68, it sure hasn't aged well, considering the competitor to the lower specced' GTX760, the AMD R9 285 now beats it in most titles. But that doesn't mean the performance you get from it is admirable. For someone looking to get into gaming in higher settings it handles itself quite nicely

I really enjoy that you compare these old cards to their modern equivalent, like you did with this 770 and a gtx 1050 ti. Some of us that are on low budget don't really mind the higher power usage since, if we are using older hardware, chances are that we are already using huge power supplies compared to today's PC requirements, making these old cards a breeze to run.

The 770 was a good card, still is. I just don't see it lasting another 2 years in modern games at medium settings.

I just got an EVGA GTX 780 Classified for about 150, not really the best deal, but with the mining apocalypse going on, there's not much you can do. Wouldn't mind seeing some modern games benchmarked with the 780

for anyone that wants to know the performance of a 4gb version, on an intel i5- 7500 8gb 2400mhz ddr4 ram--All 1080p GTA 5- 60-80 frames on high settings, msa 2x, population mid, no advanced graphics PUBG- moves around a lot, mainly- 50-70 fps, in gun fights stutters on high settings, I use everything low, except view distance on high CSGO- everything maxed out, depending on map usually 150-200 Overwatch- epic, 60-70 fps at all times, except when particle warfare happens, then it falls to 40-50 my opinion, it's still a great card, if you deal hunt you can get the 4gb version for less than 100$ in Los Angeles I got mines for 75!

I would like to see competitive games like PUBG and Overwatch also tested on lowest settings. Nice vid

I got one for my little brother for 40 Euros half a year ago, the reason was that it overheated. All it needed was some love and thermal paste, and now it just runs H1Z1 all day and my brother couldn't be happier!

770 (don't remember if I have the 2 or 4gb) was my first graphics card but upgraded to a 1070 when they came out which was roughly twice the performance. Still performed alright up until then in modern games especially with a gsync monitor to make less than 60fps better to play. I might chuck it in my new PC to see how it fares on a few games to know if it's worth getting my old PC up and going for another use

My first serious card and got the job done (very well) in any game I played at the time in 1080p. My expectations ramped up in the following years, upgrading to a GTX 980 when I started gaming in 1440p, and then the 1080TI when I made the move to 4K

Oh god, brought one of these for £200 back in 2014 and still have it. Cards sure do age quickly.

The GTX 770 is basically a better-binned GTX 680 - the exact same GPU core. The 4GB GTX 770 would likely fare better in a lot of modern titles, but probably by not very much.

Personally I think the 760 4GB is a better value since the price is much lower and the performance is only about 30% lower. However the 770 is also a great card for a budget build :) Btw great video once again!

Rocking a similar build with the test bench above exccept mine has 16GB ram :) The 770's a still pretty decent card tbh with GPU prices being pretty insane right now. Got mine from a friend's friend for around $80.

I had a 2GB EVGA SC one, and it ran so incredibly hot and loud. It maxed out at around 85c which I think ended up killing it. Glad I've got a 1070 now.

I used to have this card, but i upgraded to 1070 about a year ago. Made a massive difference for me

I picked one up for AUD$50, that's just $39 US and a solid deal considering our crappy used parts market. It's in my girlfriends PC, an upgrade from a 560ti, and it's not ran into any issues with anything we want to play.

I remember getting this card as my first back in 2014. Thing was a beast then and probably still would be pretty decent still if it weren't for the mere 2GB of VRAM :( Upgraded to its namesake GTX 1070 8GB for the holidays to catch up with the latest games, something my 770 already started showing signs of struggling with since late-2015.

I still have this card in a build i made years ago, the GTX 770 still runs great considering it's age.

I got my 770 for £50 on eBay a couple of months ago. Very pleased with it, gets to nearly 85 degrees sometimes though. It can play all my games on high on 1080p. Might upgrade to a 970 if I get a higher resolution monitor, but would recommend if don't care about power and can get one cheap

I had one of these (I believe I also requested the 770) and it was OK, but not great, especially compared to my rx 580 8gb. If you want to play a well optimized game for nvidia like Farming Simulator 2017, it’s really good, but when you want to play some of the newest titles, then you can better get something with more vram. Also, I had the windforce oc edition, and when overclocked it’ll draw about 270w by itself, so PLEASE just get a 1050ti or something, way better choice overall imo ;)

Since the card launched, this card has served me admirably. There hasn't been a single game that I couldn't get to run at 60FPS with a few tweaks to the graphics settings... Until now. Farcry 5 has finally defeated the 770. RIP.

I would love to see you benchmark cities skylines, it’s a very cpu intensive game when the city starts getting big (80000 people) and will even push mid range CPU’s to their limit

I got a 4 gb 770 last year for 130€ (October 2016, deployed at December of the same year). I've been using it in my main pc ever since. It's a pretty nice card for 1080p, as I can max out most modern games and get pretty good frames. It could age better, but it's still a pretty decent card.

Ahhhh I had this card not too far from the launch of the 700 series GPUs. Performance wise, it was fine, except that there were games (such as GTA) that would always crash no matter what (and I've trief every 'fix' imaginable, hardware and software). Other games suffered other interesting quirks as well, like how my fps used to plumet when raising the shield on rainbow six siege (so I couldn't use a shield operator unless I was continually sprinting which defies the point). Finally, I managed to replace the card and all the problems were gone. So much for those countless windows 10 formats...

I bought a new boxed MSI Direct CU 770 4Gb at a local PC hardware store for the equivalent of $150 usd in December for a friend’s PC, and I have to say it was worth it for the price, specially because a 1050 here costs about $200.

All keplers are still good to go depending where you aim your budget. Shove in a keppler from 650 and higher and play some maxed out rocket league or high at some game like battlefront 2, max out LoL and such. Budget builds like used 670 + cheapest ryzen + cheap b450m + 8gb 3000mhz or 16gb kit + 500 ish psu. And you are good to go.

I just upgraded from the 2GB MSI GTX 770 Twin Frozr edition because the fans are failing and I wanted more VRAM, I was very pleased with the card for a very long time, and if I had the 4GB version would have kept running it for a year longer or more... Such a great chip and synthetic benchmarks get it closer to my GTX 1070 than I'd like to admit

I just got a 770 2 gig for $60 last week 12-14-18. I don’t play “modern” game, BF1 is the newest title I play and the card is good on all games except stutters on mod Skyrim, AA on and ultra setting. Tune that down to high and AA off and it’s butter smooth. I was going to get a 1050ti but 170-200 bucks compared to 60, it was a no brainer.

I'm still stuck on a Geforce 970 waiting for the new cards to release to upgrade as long as they are not over priced.

i love my 770, been playing in 1440p in high setting with my old 3770k i 7 for year now. The only game i had to bring down to 1080 was witch 3. However it plays far cry 5 in 1440 just fine. very smooth.

Similar to this, I have an EVGA GTX 1060 FTW2+ 6 GB graphics card that I use with an i7-4770k and 16 GBs of g.skill ddr3 ram at 2400mhz. I've ran most games at 1080p with high to ultra settings with at least 60 fps thats mainly made in 2016 and 2017.

theres a setting in msi afterburner that allows you to show gpu memory usage ...if you cant find it google it

Aside from basically being a re-branded GTX 680 (the 700 series were nearly all rebrands) Kepler itself has been severely gimped due to lack of drivers as shown by testing,

PUBG's shadows setting is the greatest killer of FPS. Turning it to low or lowest will give you actually pretty substantial framerate increases in most areas.

I just recently went to a 970 from a 4gb 770 but only because the 970 was a gift from a friend. The 4gb 770 performed damn admirably and could run almost all games I threw at it at top-spec 1080p60. Funnily, it beats my newer 970 in some games like killing floor 2 at 1080p60 thanks to having a little more vram and already being strong enough to max the game, while the 970 had to turn down textures or risk stutters! Forget the 2gb 770, it's past its expiry date, but the 4gb model is still kicking.

This bad boy was made in 2010 with 6 Cores. please do a video on it. i think you will find it interesting. you could pair it with Your GTX 1060 3gb and see how it games. or maybe a older card like the GTX 770, either way i really want to see how well this CPU held up over the years and honestly i think i wont be let down.

The difference between your results and mine from when i used to have one is like two different worlds. I used to own a msi gtx 770 oc 2gb, i paired it with an i5-4670k. When playing pubg i averaged 80 fps, overwatch 144 due to my screen, 76 fps in novigrad on the witcher with high settings and hairworks off.

I got lucky when i got my card a Gigabyte Windforce x3 R9 270x 2GB OC for under $68 shipped in November of 2014 thanks to the crazy prices I haven't upgraded it yet but still get very playable frame rates in most titles. 72 fps average in Shadow of Mordor Ultra settings.. 90 fps average in Tomb Raider 1080p Ultra, 230+ FPS in CS:Go maxed.. The VRAM limits the performance in some titles only to the degree of not being able to use high or ultra texture settings due to not enough VRAM to handle those settings. For 1080p gaming if you can handle not having everything jacked to max a card like this 770 or even a 960 would still hold up well for a year or two.

I found a 7950 that the owner claimed was broken. I picked it up for $40 and it worked and even got a 1GHz oc

had crossfire rx 280x's and they ran amazing for the most part in gta5 and not any other games but they were a 100 dollars each and the 3gb vram was good enough to run games at mixed high settings in 1080p for my games. Now i got a 1080 before the prices were bumped to shit evrywhere so it was a decent deal for 600 dollars here in Norway
