Today we're going to talk about bentonite clay and aluminum. There is aluminum in bentonite clay, but bentonite clay has been promoted as a great thing to take to help detoxify the body. So, can it cause aluminum toxicity or not?
Bentonite clay is dissolved minerals from volcanic ash and marine environments. It's layers of very thin sheets of minerals. There are many different minerals, but the main two are a combination of silica and aluminum.
Even though there is aluminum in bentonite clay, it is tightly bound with silica, and they're not going to leech out into your body. So, you don't have to worry about getting aluminum poisoning when you take bentonite clay.
The unique thing about bentonite clay over other types of clay is that it has eight times the pull factor or magnetic force to absorb and attract heavy metals, toxins, and other things. It has a very strong negative charge that acts as a magnet for certain things.
Bentonite clay could attach to things like:
• Arsenic
• Lead
• Mercury
• Toxins
• Mold
• Aflatoxins
Bentonite clay could also help decrease bacterial loads, which can be beneficial if someone has an infection. It can be good for people who have IBS. It may also be beneficial for burns or to help with poison ivy.

When it comes to detoxification. If we take iodine - bromine, fluoride, cadmium, alumimium and mercury for exampe are excreted from the body. Large amounts of vitamin C also show this effect. Alexandre Doumenach MD wrote well about iodine and vitamin C (among other) in his book "A brief collection of unknown facts about vitamins and minerals", which I recommend to those interested. Best regards and good health to everyone!

Glad to hear a doctor talking about bentonite clay! I’ve been taking clay for 7 years, before I started taking clay I had a heart condition called Wolf Parkinson White syndrome, I started having episodes at the age of 8, I have not had a single episode of it since I started taking sodium bentonite clay at the age of 39.

Jason, how much do you take? And what brand? I was trying sodium bentonite clay from FossilPower, the one with big green nautilus shell. I was taking it every morning before breakfast, but noticed after two weeks or so it started sapping off all my energy, eventually I felt very weak. First time I didn’t realized what it was, and after a year I tried it again - same result. Doctor is right, it pulls your charge out of you, not only metals. Or it is just me? Seeing all these wonderful comments about benefits makes me wounded if I got the right brand?

I am using bentonite clay in my dog’s food. I adopted her 6 weeks ago and 2 days later she had some weird seizure that I told my vet when I took her in. Don’t know her history (estimate 8 years old, 10 pounds) but the shelter gave her a bunch of shots including rabies vaccine, so I thought this might use this clay to take out any toxins that might have affected her. I was making her food but a mistake on my part was using white rice and she still had seizures so I went keto with her and so far so good. I also give her MCT for her brain and CBD oil 2 times a day. I hope she’s going to be ok. There’s just too much poison in dog food.

I don’t take bentonite clay but I do use it on bug bites, as a mask, or in the bath. I went to Guatemala and got bit by noseeums or as they call them, jejenes. Those bites kept coming out for 1 month after we got back. The itching was horrendous. I had over 60 bites on my legs. I somehow found bentonite clay and put a lot in a shallow warm bath, enough to cover my legs. It helped SO much! It drew out all the rest of the bites in one bath. You could see them! (That’s when the 60 came out.) they healed very quickly after a few more baths

@NostaIgiathat's not what the person is asking. They are referring to alum crystal, some people use it as a natural deodorant, including me, it's very effective at preventing body odour, but I've started to hear alum can cause aluminium toxicity to skin.

I wanted to ask this same thing. When I switched from the regular aluminum deodorant to the alum crystal deodorant, I was worried of its toxicity eventhough it said it is of a natural source. But when I heard it also blocks pores, my doubts it being a good substitute increased. It can't be good if it blocks the pores of your armpits, can it?

Dr. Berg, Could you please address the issue of brain changes resulting from covid and inflammation? My son is 20 and got covid earlier this year. All summer he has been dealing with anxiety and depression, something completely out of character for him, among other long lasting symptoms. I'm wondering if covid has altered more than we realize. To make matters worse, he was just diagnosed with covid again 10 days ago. I have to wonder if this is going to make things worse or what we're going to have to deal with next. Most everything I've read has said that inflammation throughout the body is the main problem. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
