The funny thing about the blowpipe in the amazon is that it's actually not an effective defense tool against the natives, but is a great defense tool against you. The natives in the amazon are immune to most of the poisons you would be picking up around you. Dart frog poison in particular does literally nothing to them which is funny because we would die just from touching one of those things. Native traditions sure are fascinating.

With only wooden darts, blowguns do kinda suck IRL too. For more lethal darts, bone or metal should very much be a priority for dart shafts and/or points over wood. I do not, however, know where you'd find things like sharp screws, nails or bits of wire in the Amazon Rainforest.
